    • Preventive Medicine

      • ISSN: 0091-7435
Founded in 1972 by Ernst Wynder, Preventive Medicine is an international scholarly journal that publishes original articles on the science, research, and practice of disease prevention, health promotion, and public health policymaking with a social determinants of health lens. Preventive Medicine aims to reward innovation. It will favor insightful observational studies, thoughtful explorations using recent health data (within the last five years unless justified otherwise), unsuspected new angles for existing hypotheses, robust randomized controlled trials, and impartial systematic reviews. Preventive Medicine's ultimate goal is to publish research that will have an impact on the work of practitioners of disease prevention and health promotion, as well as public health and related disciplines.Preventi... Medicine is the companion title to the open access journal Preventive Medicine Reports, which publishes articles that form the building blocks of research in disease prevention and health promotion.
    • International Journal of Paleopathology

      • ISSN: 1879-9817
The Official Journal of the Paleopathology AssociationPaleopath... is the study and application of methods and techniques for investigating diseases and related conditions from skeletal and soft tissue remains. The International Journal of Paleopathology (IJPP) will publish original and significant articles on human and animal (including hominids) disease, based upon the study of physical remains, including osseous, dental, and preserved soft tissues at a range of methodological levels, from direct observation to molecular, chemical, histological and radiographic analysis. Discussion of ways in which these methods can be applied to the reconstruction of health, disease and life histories in the past is central to the discipline, so the journal would also encourage papers covering interpretive and theoretical issues, and those that place the study of disease at the centre of a bioarchaeological or biocultural approach. Papers dealing with historical evidence relating to disease in the past (rather than history of medicine) will also be published. The journal will also accept significant studies that applied previously developed techniques to new materials, setting the research in the context of current debates on past human and animal health.Membership Benefits: Members of the Paleopathology Association receive online access to the International Journal of Paleopathology for free as a member benefit.

    • Biomaterials

      • ISSN: 0142-9612
Biomaterials is an international journal covering the science and clinical application of biomaterials. A biomaterial is now defined as a substance that has been engineered to take a form which, alone or as part of a complex system, is used to direct, by control of interactions with components of living systems, the course of any therapeutic or diagnostic procedure. It is the aim of the journal to provide a peer-reviewed forum for the publication of original papers and authoritative review and opinion papers dealing with the most important issues facing the use of biomaterials in clinical practice. The scope of the journal covers the wide range of physical, biological and chemical sciences that underpin the design of biomaterials and the clinical disciplines in which they are used. These sciences include polymer synthesis and characterization, drug and gene vector design, the biology of the host response, immunology and toxicology and self assembly at the nanoscale. Clinical applications include the therapies of medical technology and regenerative medicine in all clinical disciplines, and diagnostic systems that reply on innovative contrast and sensing agents. The journal is relevant to areas such as cancer diagnosis and therapy, implantable devices, drug delivery systems, gene vectors, bionanotechnology and tissue engineering.Click here for New Editorial Instructions.Benefit... to authors We also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. • Current Problems in Cancer

      • ISSN: 0147-0272
Current Problems in Cancer seeks to promote and disseminate innovative, transformative, and impactful data on patient-oriented cancer research and clinical care. Specifically, the journal's scope is focused on reporting the results of well-designed cancer studies that influence/alter practice or identify new directions in translational and clinical cancer research. These studies can include novel therapeutic approaches, new strategies for early diagnosis, cancer clinical trials, and supportive care, among others. Pre-clinical studies are discouraged. The journal's format also allows, on occasion, for a multi-faceted overview of a single topic via a curated selection of review articles, while also offering articles that present dynamic material that influences the oncology field.Original case reports featuring prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, supportive care, quality of life and rehabilitation can be submitted to the journal's open access companion title, Current Problems in Cancer: Case Reports.(CPCCR). Any case reports submitted to Current Problems in Cancer (CPC) will be considered for publication in either CPC or CPCCR.
