Language Sciences
Language Sciences seeks to provide an outlet for radical and innovative work that enlarges our view of language and languaging. It aspires to be the foremost forum for transdisciplinary research on linguistic behaviour and languaging. We encourage contributions that take a broad view of language and languaging as coordinative, affiliative, and integrational activities that enable human living. Language Sciences is likewise a forum for debates on metatheoretical, epistemological, and axiological issues in the study of language and languaging, broadly conceived. We encourage contributions that challenge the disciplinary boundaries with critical scrutiny of extant theories and methods in the language sciences, and with diversification of the manner in which the object of language studies is conceived and constructed. The vision of Language Sciences is to provide a fertile meeting ground for scholars from a host of disciplines, including (but not limited to) cognitive science, anthropology, biosemiotics, cultural studies, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and ecology. The editors particularly encourage empirical work that has the potential to interrogate and challenge well-established theories and methods in linguistics and its subdisciplines.For more information about the journal's vision, please read this editorial.Language Sciences also publishes Special Issues focused on topics of current interest. The journal Information Systems publishes articles concerning the design and implementation of languages, data models, process models, algorithms, software and hardware for information systems.Subject areas include data management issues as presented in the principal international database conferences (e.g., ACM SIGMOD/PODS, VLDB, ICDE and ICDT/EDBT) as well as data-related issues from the fields of data mining/machine learning, information retrieval coordinated with structured data, internet and cloud data management, business process management, web semantics, visual and audio information systems, scientific computing, and data science. We welcome systems papers that focus on implementation considerations in massively parallel data management, fault tolerance, and special purpose hardware for data-intensive systems; theoretical papers that either break significant new ground or unify and extend existing algorithms for data-intensive applications; and manuscripts from application domains, such as urban informatics, social and natural science, and Internet of Things, which present innovative, high-performance, and scalable solutions to data management problems for those domains.All papers should motivate the problems they address with compelling examples from real or potential applications. Systems papers must be serious about experimentation either on real systems or simulations based on traces from real systems. Papers from industrial organizations are welcome. Theoretical papers should have a clear motivation from applications and clearly state which ideas have potentially wide applicability.Author... of selected articles that have been accepted for publication in Information Systems are invited by the EiCs to submit the experiment described in their papers for reproducibility validation. The resulting additional reproducibility paper is co-authored by the reproducibility reviewers and the authors of the original publication.As part of its commitment to reproducible science, Information Systems also welcomes experimental reproducible survey papers. Such submissions must: (i) apply a substantial portion of the different surveyed techniques to at least one existing benchmark and perhaps one or more new benchmarks, and (ii) be reproducible (the validation of reproducibility will result in a separate paper following the guidelines of our Reproducibility Editor).In addition to publishing submitted articles, the Editors-in-Chief will invite retrospective articles that describe significant projects by the principal architects of those projects. Authors of such articles should write in the first person, tracing the social as well as technical history of their projects, describing the evolution of ideas, mistakes made, and reality tests. Journal of Neurolinguistics
An International Journal of experimental, clinical and theoretical research on language and the brain.The Journal of Neurolinguistics is an international forum for the integration of the neurosciences and language sciences. JNL provides for rapid publication of novel, peer-reviewed research into the interaction between language, communication and brain processes. The focus is on rigorous studies of an empirical or theoretical nature and which make an original contribution to our knowledge about the involvement of the nervous system in communication and its breakdowns. Contributions from neurology, communication disorders, linguistics, neuropsychology and cognitive science in general are welcome. Published articles will typically address issues relating some aspect of language or speech function to its neurological substrates with clear theoretical import. Interdisciplinary work on any aspect of the biological foundations of language and its disorders resulting from brain damage is encouraged. Studies of normal subjects, with clear reference to brain functions, are appropriate. Group-studies on well defined samples and case studies with well documented lesion or nervous system dysfunction are acceptable. The journal is open to empirical reports and review articles. This journal is unique in that it provides a forum devoted to the interdisciplinary study of language and communication. The investigation of language and its communicational functions is treated as a concern shared in common by those working in applied linguistics, child development, cultural studies, discourse analysis, intellectual history, legal studies, language evolution, linguistic anthropology, linguistics, philosophy, the politics of language, pragmatics, psychology, rhetoric, semiotics, and sociolinguistics.The journal invites contributions which explore the implications of current research for establishing common theoretical frameworks within which findings from different areas of study may be accommodated and interrelated. By focusing attention on the many ways in which language is integrated with other forms of communicational activity and interactional behaviour, it is intended to encourage approaches to the study of language and communication which are not restricted by existing disciplinary boundaries.- ISSN: 0271-5309
Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation
Founded in 1992, the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation (JIAAT) publishes research that advances our understanding of international accounting over a diverse range of topics and research methods. JIAAT articles deal with most areas of international accounting, including auditing, financial accounting, taxation, social and environmental accounting, and management accounting. The Journal welcomes research that utilizes a wide range of basic and applied research methods, including archival, experimental, survey, analytical, and case study.The Journal's founding goal was to bridge the gap between academic researchers and practitioners by publishing papers that are relevant to the development of the field of accounting. Within this context, submissions are expected to make a contribution to the academic accounting literature, including as appropriate the international accounting literature typically found in JIAAT and other primary US-based international accounting journals as well as in leading European, Australian, and Canadian academic accounting journals. Applied research findings, critiques of current accounting practices and the measurement of their effects on business decisions, and research-based essays on world affairs which affect accounting practice are all within the scope of the journal.Although the Journal welcomes a wide range of topics, papers may be rejected without being sent out for formal review if the paper is deemed outside of the scope of the journal, too narrow in interest or scope, of unacceptable written quality, or as not sufficiently adhering to the style requirements as outlined in the Guide for Authors. We strongly urge all authors interested in JIAAT to carefully read the Guide to Authors and to examine some of its more recently published articles. Examples of topics outside the scope of the journal include accounting education, attitudes about the implementation and use of software programs, and tax papers with an economics or finance focus rather than an accounting-related tax focus.
