Frontier research on physical phenomena in chemistry, biology and materials scienceCriteria for publication in Chemical Physics are novelty, quality and general interest in experimental and theoretical chemical physics and physical chemistry. Journal of Constructional Steel Research
The Journal of Constructional Steel Research provides an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest developments in structural steel research and their applications in civil engineering. It is aimed not only at researchers but also at those likely to be most affected by research results, i.e. designers and fabricators. Original papers of a high standard dealing with all structural engineering aspects of steel and metal structures including theoretical and experimental research on the behaviour and strength of elements, assemblages, connections and material properties are considered for publication. Submissions substantially concerned with the strength of the concrete component in steel-concrete composite members, including shear stud connections, may not suit the journal. Submissions on pipelines do not fall within the journal's scope.Those presenting research findings in a form suitable for practical use are especially welcome. New Astronomy
New Astronomy aims to publish high quality articles in all areas of astronomy, from the solar system through cosmology, and in all wavelengths from radio to gamma-ray. New Astronomy actively encourages the submission of observational, experimental, theoretical, and numerical work, but it does not consider for publication physics papers for which there is no clear pathway for observational tests of the ideas proposed with current or reasonably conceivable future missions, observatories, and experiments. A Review Section of Physics LettersThe journal Physics Reports publishes timely reviews which are more extensive than just literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph. Each report deals with one specific subject and is generally published in a separate volume. These reviews are specialist in nature but contain enough introductory material to make the main points intelligible to a non-specialist. The reader will not only be able to distinguish important developments and trends in physics but will also find a sufficient number of references to the original literature.Starting in 2025, Physics Reports will inaugurate a new "Rapid Reviews” section. Rapid Reviews are intended to be shorter reviews, which can be completed more quickly (on order three months) than regular reviews, on exciting new subjects. They are intended to reach a broader audience but go into less technical detail than a regular Physics Reports review. The target length is on order 20 pages (as opposed to regular reviews, which are intended to be more than 50 journal pages) and the reviews are intended to allow more in the way of editorializing than regular articles, which are intended to be more balanced, complete, and pedagogical. Biological Conservation invites the submission of research articles, reviews (including systematic reviews and perspectives), short communications, policy perspectives, and letters to the editor dealing with all aspects of conservation science, including theoretical and empirical investigations into the consequences of human actions for the diversity, structure and function of terrestrial, aquatic or marine ecosystems. Such papers may include quantitative assessments of extinction risk, fragmentation effects, spread of invasive organisms, conservation genetics, conservation management, global change effects on biodiversity, landscape or reserve design and management, restoration ecology, or resource economics. We also welcome papers coming from social sciences including those reporting on advances in conservation politics, ethics, policy, human social structure and biodiversity, and political culture among other subjects. Biological Conservation covers interdisciplinary topics within conservation biology and also provides practical applications of conservation research for land/resource managers and policy makers. We publish articles and thematic special issues that have a global relevance in terms of the topics or issues addressed, and thus demonstrate applications of conservation science and management beyond the specific system or species studied. The aim of the journal is to publish papers that advance the field of computational materials science through the application of modern computational methods alone or in conjunction with experimental techniques to discover new materials and investigate existing inorganic materials, such as metals, ceramics, composites, semiconductors, nanostructures, 2D materials, metamaterials, and organic materials, such as polymers, liquid crystals, surfactants, emulsions, and also hybrid materials combining both inorganic and organic components such as polymer nanocomposites, nanocrystal superlattices or surfactant nanoparticle mixtures.Papers that report on the development of new methods, enhancement of existing approaches or significant technical computational advances are of interest.Papers with a focus on simulations must contain new conceptual or computational advances.
