    Clinical Colorectal Cancer is devoted to manuscripts that focus on early detection/screening, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of colorectal cancer and other GI cancers, including pancreatic, liver, gastric/gastroesopha... biliary, and other gastrointestinal cancers. The major emphasis is on recent scientific developments and original peer-reviewed manuscripts. Specific areas of interest include original reports on clinical research and/or translational research and translational correlative science that is directly related to clinical trials, in all (multidisciplinary) therapeutic fields that relate to colorectal cancer and other GI cancers.Further areas of interest include original research on drug sensitivity and resistance to cytotoxic agents, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and other novel therapeutic approaches; pathology, (validated) predictive markers, and prognostic indicators; chemoprevention strategies; and integration of various therapeutic and multidisciplinary approaches. A much lower priority will be given to meta-analyses, pooled analyses, and real-world analyses unless the knowledge gained from such reports is significant and can be applied to clinical practice. In addition, unsolicited reviews are not encouraged unless there has been a discussion with the editor or deputy editors as the journal wants to ensure that reviews will provide real added value and true gain of knowledge.

As genetics and genomics continue to increase in importance and relevance in medical practice, the journal is an accessible and authoritative resource for the dissemination of medical genetic knowledge to all medical providers through appropriate original research, reviews, commentaries, standards, and guidelines. GIM encourages research that combats racism, includes diverse populations and is written by authors from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.In addition:GIM does not publish case reportsManuscripts reporting population level research carried out in predominantly or exclusively White populations will generally not be accepted without strong justification for lack of diversity in the population studied.The significance of articles reporting data and/or observations from a limited geographic region is evaluated in the context of whether they are generalizable across relevant populations or whether they might fill a knowledge gap in populations that are underrepresented in genetics research or that experience health disparities.Although cancer genetics is a focus, GIM discourages cancer genetics manuscripts with data limited to somatic and/or tumor genetics.     Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports, a companion title to the established Veterinary Parasitology, focuses on topics of regional concern. These are especially important in this era of climate change and the rapid and often unconstrained travel of people and animals. Relative to regions, this journal will accept papers of the highest quality dealing with all aspects of disease prevention, pathology, treatment, epidemiology, and control of parasites within the field of veterinary medicine. Also, case reports will be considered as they add to information related to local disease and its control; such papers must be concise and represent appropriate medical intervention.Papers on veterinary parasitology from wildlife species are acceptable, but only if they relate to the practice of veterinary medicine. Studies on vector-borne bacterial and viral agents are suitable, but only if the paper deals with vector transmission of these organisms to domesticated animals.Studies dealing with parasite control by means of natural products, both in vivo and in vitro, are more suited for one of the many journals that now specialize in papers of this type.     Research in Autism (REIA) publishes high quality empirical articles and reviews that contribute to a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) at all levels of description; genetic, neurobiological, cognitive, and behavioral. The primary focus of the journal is to bridge the gap between basic research at these levels, and the practical questions and difficulties that are faced by autistic individuals and their families, as well as carers, educators and clinicians. In addition, the journal encourages submissions on topics that remain under-researched in the field. We know shamefully little about the causes and consequences of the significant language and general intellectual impairments that are very common among the autism community. Even less is known about the challenges that autistic women face and less still about the needs of autistic individuals as they grow older. Medical and psychological co-morbidities and the complications they bring with them for the diagnosis and treatment of ASD represents another area of relatively little research. REIA is committed to promoting high-quality and rigorous research on all of these issues.

    BBA Gene Regulatory Mechanisms includes reports that describe novel insights into mechanisms of transcriptional, post-transcriptional and translational gene regulation. Special emphasis is placed on papers that identify epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation, including chromatin, modification, and remodeling. This section also encompasses mechanistic studies of regulatory proteins and protein complexes; regulatory or mechanistic aspects of RNA processing; regulation of expression by small RNAs; genomic analysis of gene expression patterns; and modeling of gene regulatory pathways. Papers describing gene promoters, enhancers, silencers or other regulatory DNA regions must incorporate significant functions studies.The journal does not favorably review manuscripts identifying a miRNA-target pair without additional insights into the repression mechanism or significant advances in understanding regulatory pathways. Ageing Research Reviews (ARR) covers the trends in this field. It is designed to fill a large void, namely, a source for critical reviews and viewpoints on emerging findings on mechanisms of ageing and age-related disease. Rapid advances in understanding of mechanisms that control cellular proliferation, differentiation and survival are leading to new insight into the regulation of ageing. From telomerase to stem cells to energy and oxyradical metabolism, this is an exciting new era in the multidisciplinary field of ageing research. The cellular and molecular underpinnings of manipulations that extend lifespan, such as caloric restriction, are being identified and novel approaches for preventing age-related diseases are being developed. The primary focus of the journal is to bridge the gap between basic research at these levels, and the practical questions and difficulties that are faced by autistic individuals and their families, as well as carers, educators and clinicians. In addition, the journal encourages submissions on topics that remain under-researched in the field. We know shamefully little about the causes and consequences of the significant language and general intellectual impairments that are very common among the autism community. Even less is known about the challenges that autistic women face and less still about the needs of autistic individuals as they grow older. Medical and psychological co-morbidities and the complications they bring with them for the diagnosis and treatment of ASD represents another area of relatively little research. REIA is committed to promoting high-quality and rigorous research on all of these issues.
