Tuberculosis is a speciality journal focusing on basic experimental research on tuberculosis.
Tuberculosis aims to publish original research and reviews. It publishes articles on host response and immunology of tuberculosis and the molecular biology, genetics and physiology of the organism.
Submissions on bacteriological, immunological and pathogenesis aspects of the disease are particularly welcomed.
The journal publishes topics including:
• Clinical Trials
• Diagnostics
• Antimicrobial resistance
• Immunology
• Leprosy
• Microbiology, including microbial physiology
• Molecular epidemiology
• Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria
• Pathogenesis & Pathology
• Vaccine development
Please note Tuberculosis does not consider:
submissions with a meta-analytical focus (e.g., articles based on searches of published articles in public electronic databases will not be considered, especially where there is lack of evidence of the personal involvement of authors in the generation of such material).
articles reporting the reanalysis of published data sets to generate hypotheses where there is lack of evidence of the personal involvement of authors in the generation of such material, and where no attempt has been made to test hypotheses experimentally will not be considered.
case report submissions or clinical case studies. Submit manuscripts of this type to the companion journals IDCases and Clinical Microbiology Newsletter.
articles reporting in silico drug discovery and molecular modelling will not be considered without experimental work to demonstrate meaningful insight into the activity of the series under investigation; further biological evaluation of the mechanism of action, cytotoxicity and potential for drug development is encouraged.
Review articles that do NOT offer novel perspectives or insight into a topic and are NOT of general interest to the readership of the journal, or have been covered recently elsewhere, will not be considered.
