The Journal of Systems Architecture: Embedded Software Design (JSA) is a journal covering all design and architectural aspects related to embedded systems and software. It ranges from the microarchitecture level via the system software level up to the application-specific architecture level. Aspects such as real-time systems, operating systems, programming languages, communications (limited to analysis and the software stack), mobile systems, parallel and distributed architectures as well as additional subjects in the computer and system architecture area will fall within the scope of this journal. Technology will not be a main focus, but its use and relevance to particular designs will be. Case studies are welcome but must contribute more than just a design for a particular piece of software.Design automation of such systems including methodologies, techniques and tools for their design as well as novel designs of software components fall within the scope of this journal. Novel applications that use embedded systems are also central in this journal. While JSA does not focus on hardware design, hardware/software co-design techniques with an emphasis on software are also relevant here.We invite you to convert your open source software into an additional journal publication in Software Impacts, a multi-disciplinary open access journal. Software Impacts provides a scholarly reference to software that has been used to address a research challenge. The journal disseminates impactful and re-usable scientific software through Original Software Publications (OSP) which describe the application of the software to research and the published outputs.

  • Energy Research & Social Science

    • ISSN: 2214-6296
Energy Research & Social Science (ERSS) is a peer-reviewed international journal that publishes original research and review articles examining the relationship between energy systems, markets, business and society. ERSS covers a range of topics revolving around the intersection of energy technologies, fuels, and resources on one side; and social, economic and business processes and influences - including communities of energy users, people affected by energy production, social and economic institutions, businesses, customs, traditions, households, behaviors, and policies - on the other. Put another way, ERSS investigates the social, economic and business systems surrounding energy technology and hardware. ERSS is of relevance for energy practitioners, researchers interested in the social, business and economics aspects of energy production or use, and policymakers.Energy Research & Social Science (ERSS) provides an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of how social and technical issues related to both energy production and consumption interact. Energy production, distribution, and consumption all have both technical and human components, and the latter involve the human causes and consequences of energy-related activities and processes as well as social structures that shape how people interact with energy systems. The journal's focus on social structures is broadly defined to encompass both macro-level systems (like economic policies and structures, markets and institutions) and micro-level practices (like everyday interactions, businesses or individual and household behaviour), all of which together shape how society operates and interact with energy systems. Energy analysis therefore needs to look beyond the dimensions of technology to include these social, economic and human elements. The editors emphasize that cross cultural, comparative, mixed-methods research is especially encouraged, and discourage submission of single-country case studies and/or studies that rely only on one method in isolation. Authors of single country studies, if submitted, must demonstrate that they have situated their study in the broader context and have highlighted the significance of their study. This journal welcomes contributions that support and advance the UN's sustainable development goals, in particular SDG 7 (Affordable and clean energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action)
  • Geoderma Regional

    • ISSN: 2352-0094
Geoderma Regional publishes high-quality research that advances understanding of soils within clearly defined geographic regions while contributing to general soil science knowledge. The journal focuses on studies grounded in regional contexts shaped by distinctive pedo-climatic, ecological, cultural, and land-use relationships, as such interactions generate locally specific soil properties, processes, challenges, and management opportunities. The journal welcomes research from all regions of the world, provided that submissions situate regional findings within the international state of the art and demonstrate relevance beyond a single site or case study. Studies should contribute to general soil-system understanding, sustainable soil use, or regionally informed soil management strategies.Geoderma Regional promotes interdisciplinary approaches and encourages the use of internationally recognized soil classification systems. Submissions are expected to describe investigated soils using the latest edition of either the IUSS World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB) or USDA Soil Taxonomy. Where appropriate, authors may additionally include local or national soil classifications to support regional interpretation.Autho... are strongly encouraged to include comprehensive soil analyses and to investigate complete soil profiles rather than focusing solely on surface horizons. To enhance discoverability and international relevance, titles should be written in a generalist manner without explicit regional identifiers; the regional focus should instead be clearly reflected in the abstract and represented through appropriate regional keywords. The journal welcomes, but is not limited to, scientific studies addressing:Regional patterns of soil properties and processes and their broader implications;Land-us... and climate change impacts on soil and ecosystem properties, processes, and functions;Anthropoge... influences on soil biogeochemical cycles;Biotic and abiotic interactions within soil systems;Integration of experimental soil knowledge into modeling frameworks; Place-based and community-informed research, including ethnopedology, a field that examines how local communities understand, classify, use, and manage soils based on traditional or Indigenous knowledge systems, and that provides insights into the cultural dimensions of soil–landscape relationships to inform community-centred soil management and sustainable development.Submissi... that lack scientific novelty, broader relevance, or a clear connection to soil properties and processes—such as descriptive inventories, compliance-driven assessments, greenhouse/laborator... investigations, methods/model development studies, shallow-depth-only investigations, or work focused primarily on agronomy or socioeconomics—are generally not suitable for Geoderma Regional.

Marine Geoscience and Energy Resources is an international journal covering marine geoenergy geology with emphasis on the origin and behaviour of all types of basinal fluids (e.g., hydrocarbons, mineralizing fluids, waters) in the context of basin dynamics, from the pore to the basin scale. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for high-quality research on the geology, geophysics and geochemistry of extant and deep-time marine and coastal basins, from continental shelves to deep-marine basins, and the related role of basinal fluids. Marine geohazards and their mitigation, marine geoenergy management, and associated geological risk studies are also welcome. Hence, the journal aims to advance the environmentally sustainable exploration of natural resources in the marine realm, while de-emphasizing the characterisation of oil and gas fields as the primary aim of research. Science advancement in the form of using geological formations for safe storage of various gases to help achieve net-zero carbon goals is particularly encouraged. The editors seek papers that broadly advance understanding of basins and fluids with general applicability, as well as those promoting environmentally sustainable exploration of natural resources in marine or terrestrial basins. Authors should analyse a region’s geological potential alongside sustainable solutions, considering how to make resource development less impactful and exploring broader implications beyond the specific basin. The editors will not consider papers on the following topics:Local case-studies that are basin or prospect specific, with little applicability outside of the study area they refer to.Coal-related research (even when comprising regional basin studies).Drilling and production engineering. The journal is essential reading for geologists, geophysicists and explorationists in academia, government, and industry working in the following areas: marine geology; basin analysis and evaluation; organic geochemistry; reserve/resource estimation; seismic stratigraphy; thermal models of basic evolution; sedimentary geology; continental margins; geophysical interpretation; structural geology/tectonics.Fo... known as Marine and Petroleum Geology, with a 2024 IF of 3.6, and 2022 CiteScore of 7.7.Scope Topics Geology of sustainable resource exploration and management in sedimentary basinsBasin dynamics and fluid (hydrocarbon, porewaters, cementation, hydrothermal/metals) migrationStructural geology and tectonicsSedimentolo...
