  • Current Opinion in Green and Sustainable Chemistry

    • ISSN: 2452-2236
The Current Opinion journals were developed out of the recognition that it is increasingly difficult for specialists to keep up to date with the expanding volume of information published in their subject. In Current Opinion in Green and Sustainable Chemistry, we help the reader by providing in a systematic manner: The views of experts on current advances in Green and Sustainable Chemistry in a clear and readable form.Evaluations of the most interesting papers, annotated by experts, from the great wealth of original publications.Divisio... of the subject into sections The subject Green and Sustainable Chemistry includes all chemical aspects along the life cycle of chemicals as well chemical products and materials e.g. resources, synthesis, use and after life issues. It aims on better understanding where and how chemistry itself can be made more sustainable and whereby chemistry can contribute to sustainability in general. Therefore, the journal it is divided into themed sections, each of which is reviewed once a year. The amount of space devoted to each section is related to its importance:Mineral and fossil resources and metalsBiomass, bio-fuels and bioenergiesCO2 capture, and chemistryGreen solventsGreen catalysisNew synthetic methodsPhotocatalysi... processes and technologiesRenewabl... energy and storageSustainable recycling of molecules, materials and productsBenign by DesignNew business models, ethics, legislation and economicsThere is also a section that changes every year to reflect hot topics in the field.Selection of topics to be reviewed Section Editors, who are major authorities in the field, are appointed by the Editors of the journal. • Progress in Solid State Chemistry

    • ISSN: 0079-6786
Progress in Solid State Chemistry presents a chemical view of the solid state by providing up-to-date critical reviews written by acknowledged authorities in the field. It also publishes surveys of research progress and specialized articles devoted to summarizing particular recent developments. The aim is to address the need brought about by the literature on the chemistry of the solid state being widely dispersed, making it difficult to obtain a broad and unified assessment of the present state of knowledge. Special emphasis is given to relating physical properties and structural chemistry. Whereas structural chemistry at one time was concerned mostly with perfect solids, most activity focused upon understanding of solid properties focuses on imperfections. Entities such as vacancies, dislocations, and positive holes, which have no independent existence outside the solid itself, are of prime importance in modern solid state chemistry. The reviews published in Progress in Solid State Chemistry emphasize critical evaluation of the field, along with indications of current problems and future directions. Papers are not intended to be bibliographic in nature but rather to inform a broad range of readers in an inherently multidisciplinary field by providing expert treatises oriented both towards specialists in different areas of the solid state and towards nonspecialists. The authorship is international, and the subject matter will be of interest to chemists, materials scientists, physicists, metallurgists, crystallographers, ceramists, and engineers interested in the solid state.

  • Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling

    • ISSN: 1093-3263
The Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling is devoted to the publication of papers on the uses of computers in theoretical investigations of molecular structure, function, interaction, and design. The scope of the journal includes all aspects of molecular modeling and computational chemistry, including, for instance, the study of molecular shape and properties, molecular simulations, protein and polymer engineering, drug design, materials design, structure-activity and structure-property relationships, database mining, and compound library design. As a primary research journal, JMGM seeks to bring new knowledge to the attention of our readers. As such, submissions to the journal need to not only report results, but must draw conclusions and explore implications of the work presented. Authors are strongly encouraged to bear this in mind when preparing manuscripts. Routine applications of standard modelling approaches, providing only very limited new scientific insight, will not meet our criteria for publication. Reproducibility of reported calculations is an important issue. Wherever possible, we urge authors to enhance their papers with Supplementary Data, for example, in QSAR studies machine-readable versions of molecular datasets or in the development of new force-field parameters versions of the topology and force field parameter files. Routine applications of existing methods that do not lead to genuinely new insight will not be considered.JMGM is published in association with two of the largest and most active professional societies in the field: the Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society (MGMS) and the Computers in Chemistry (COMP) Division of the American Chemical Society. Several thousand computational chemists worldwide belong to these two societies and any research topic that may of interest to the membership is within the wide scope of the journal. It is not necessary to be a member of these professional societies to publish in the journal.Published in association with the Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society www.mgms.org and the ACS Division of Computers in Chemistry.
  • Biosensors and Bioelectronics

Biosensors & Bioelectronics has an open access companion journal Biosensors &Bioelectronics: X . To submit to Biosensors & Bioelectronics: X visit https://www.editoria... are defined as analytical devices incorporating a biological material, a biologically derived material or a biomimic intimately associated with or integrated within a physicochemical transducer or transducing microsystem, which may be optical, electrochemical, thermometric, piezoelectric, magnetic or micromechanical (Turner et al., 1987; Turner, 1989). Biosensors & Bioelectronics is the principal international journal devoted to research, design, development and application of biosensors and bioelectronics. It is an interdisciplinary journal serving professionals with an interest in the exploitation of biological materials and designs in novel diagnostic and electronic devices including sensors, DNA chips, electronic noses, lab-on-a-chip and μ-TAS. Biosensors usually yield a digital electronic signal which is proportional to the concentration of a specific analyte or group of analytes. While the signal may in principle be continuous, devices can be configured to yield single measurements to meet specific market requirements. Examples of Biosensors include immunosensors, enzyme-based biosensors, organism- and whole cell-based biosensors. They have been applied to a wide variety of analytical problems including uses in medicine, biomedical research, drug discovery, the environment, food, process industries, security and defence. The design and study of molecular and supramolecular structures with molecular biorecognition and biomimetic properties for use in analytical devices is also included within the scope of the journal. Here the focus is on the complementary intersection between molecular recognition, nanotechnology, molecular imprinting and supramolecular chemistry to improve the analytical performance and robustness of devices. The emerging field of Bioelectronics seeks to exploit biology in conjunction with electronics in a wider context encompassing, for example, biological fuel cells, bionics and biomaterials for information processing, information storage, electronic components and actuators. A key aspect is the interface between biological materials and micro- and nano-electronics.Whi... endeavouring to maintain coherence in the scope of the journal, the editors will accept reviews and papers of obvious relevance to the community, which describe important new concepts, underpin understanding of the field or provide important insights into the practical application, manufacture and commercialisation of biosensors and bioelectronics.
  • Journal of Aerosol Science

    • ISSN: 0021-8502
An International JournalFounded in 1970, the Journal of Aerosol Science is the first journal dedicated to the science and engineering of particles and droplets suspended in gases. It serves an interdisciplinary community spanning engineering, physics, chemistry, environmental science, and related fields, with a focus on advancing fundamental understanding alongside enabling technologies. The journal publishes original research and reviews that deliver clear advances in the fundamental principles governing aerosol behavior or that introduce enabling concepts, methods, or measurements with broad relevance. Submissions should demonstrate rigorous analysis, strong connection to underlying physics and chemistry, and novelty that extends beyond incremental application or routine use of established approaches. Editorial decisions are based on technical quality, depth of insight, and contribution to the field’s foundations and future directions.ScopeThe journal welcomes contributions across three core areas, with emphasis on work that advances predictive understanding, links scales, or enables new capabilities.1. Fundamental Aerosol ScienceTransport, deposition, and multiphase dynamics; nucleation, condensation, and evaporation; particle charging and collision processes; radiative interactions; aerosol formation in reactive and non-equilibrium environments; cluster and nanoscale aerosol physics; chemistry, thermodynamics, and phase behavior; population balance and kinetic theory; and multiscale descriptions that bridge atomistic to continuum behavior.2. Applied Aerosol ScienceNew and novel aerosol-based synthesis and manufacturing, including scalable routes to functional materials; high-temperature and reactive aerosols such as soot and plasma systems; novel filtration, separation, and control technologies; new material discovery; aerosols in energy systems; bioaerosols, health, and inhalation science where new physical insight is demonstrated; and industrial processes involving particle formation, transformation, or transport.3. Instrumentation and Measurement MethodsNew or significantly advanced techniques for aerosol measurement, including mobility and mass analysis, optical and spectroscopic diagnostics, single-particle methods, and in situ probes for reactive or extreme environments. Contributions should provide demonstrable advances in capability, resolution, accuracy, or interpretability. Methods that integrate data science or inversion approaches are encouraged when they yield new physical insight or measurement capability.Emerging DirectionsThe journal particularly encourages work in areas shaping the future of aerosol science, including:• Multiscale and data-enabled modeling that connects atomistic processes to macroscopic behavior• Aerosol science in extreme conditions, including high temperature, high pressure, and plasma environments• Directed assembly and manufacturing of functional materials from aerosol building blocks• Coupled aerosol processes in energy, climate, and industrial decarbonization technologies• Next-generation measurement systems, including distributed sensing and real-time diagnostics with physical interpretability• Interfaces between aerosols and biological, chemical, or electrochemical systems where new mechanistic understanding is developedOut of ScopeThe journal does not publish work that primarily reports routine measurements, incremental extensions of established methods, or case-specific simulations without generalizable insight. Studies focused on environmental monitoring, source apportionment, or large-scale atmospheric modeling are better suited to journals dedicated to air quality and atmospheric chemistry unless they introduce new aerosol physics, chemistry or broadly applicable methodology. Instrumentation papers must demonstrate clear advances beyond existing techniques. Numerical studies must provide new theory, methods, or validated insight into aerosol behavior. Results from widely-available computational fluid dynamics software and built-in particle trajectory models are not appropriate for the Journal of Aerosol Science, unless the uniqueness and novelty of the approach employed is clearly evident.

At least one named carbohydrate polymer must be cited and be the main focus of the paper and its title. Research must be innovative and advance scientific knowledge.Characteri... - For all polysaccharides or their derivatives, including those obtained from a supplier, essential structural information which will affect their behavior in the subsequent work should be given, along with a description of how that information was ascertained. Editors are unlikely to send papers for formal review if the glycan is not adequately characterized. Such statements should be concise, declarative, and should describe the one or more key hypotheses that the studies upon which the manuscript is based were intended to confirm or refute. Inclusion of a hypothesis statement makes it simple to contrast the hypothesis with the most relevant previous literature and point out what the authors feel is distinct about the current hypothesis (novelty). • Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials

    • ISSN: 0960-8974
"Who dominates materials dominates technology" Dr. Tadahiro SekimotoMaterials especially crystalline materials provide the foundation of our modern technologically driven world. The domination of materials is achieved through detailed scientific research.Advances in the techniques of growing and assessing ever more perfect crystals of a wide range of materials lie at the roots of much of today's advanced technology. The evolution and development of crystalline materials involves research by dedicated scientists in academia as well as industry involving a broad field of disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, material sciences and engineering. Crucially important applications in information technology, photonics, energy storage and harvesting, environmental protection, medicine and food production require a deep understanding of and control of crystal growth. This can involve suitable growth methods and material characterization from the bulk down to the nano-scale.The knowledge gained requires authentication by publication and peer review. Since the literature is expanding faster than almost any other comparable field of science, it has become increasingly important for the scientific community to fill the need for communication and rapid publication of review articles and conference reports in order to keep abreast of developments in this field. Besides allowing a fast extraction of the available literature and giving state-of the art overviews, the reviews are to inspire scientists across the disciplines and to stimulate "blue-sky thinking".Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials is the only review journal on crystal growth and material assessment including novel applications as well as growth and characterization methods, and acts as a rapid publication medium for review articles and conference reports in the field. Emphasis on practical developments and problems ensures its importance also for scientists in industry.Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials is a review journal. It doesn't publish research articles. If you wish to submit a research article, the Journal of Crystal Growth would be honored to consider the submission.
