Our objective is to advance understanding of the patterns and processes governing agroecosystem functions, interactions with the environment and provision of ecosystem services. A central theme is how agriculture influences the environment and how changes in that environment impact agroecosystems.Agric... Ecosystems & Environment publishes novel, high impact research conducted at various spatial scales - from experimental plots and field trials to farm-, agroecosystem- and landscape-level investigations - with preference given to hypothesis-based and/or data-rich investigations. We particularly encourage broadly significant studies of agroecosystems that deal with cross-scale interactions, bridge scientific disciplines or integrate new knowledge and perspectives relevant to agroecosystem management or agri-environmental policies. Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment rarely publishes papers focused on the management of a specific agricultural system in a particular environmental setting unless the research produces new and compelling findings; therefore, submissions should be placed in an international and/or widely comparative context.All manuscripts are initially screened on their topic suitability. AGEE's core subject-matter fields/topics include (but are not limited to): • Mechanisms governing bio-physical features and functioning of agroecosystems (e.g., the biogeochemistry, ecology, and sustainability of agricultural systems) • The interplay between agroecosystems and the environment (soil, air, and water) and the role of ecological processes in provision of ecosystem services • Agroecosystems and their role in catalyzing/mitigatin... global change (climate change, greenhouse gases and biodiversity loss) • Ecological consequences of land use intensification and other human impacts (soil degradation and erosion, water and waste management, and associated mitigation approaches) • Environmental implications of agricultural land use and land use change (biodiversity conservation and land management, and ecological restoration and stewardship)The following topics are discouraged unless they provide new information that complements AGEE's core subject-matter areas: • Inventory and survey analysis (including life cycle and energy analysis) • Impact assessment and environmental/compli... monitoring investigations • Exclusively greenhouse- or laboratory-based studies • Studies on the development of models or methodologies and pure model applications • Studies that are purely agronomic, socio-economic, or political

That is, the journal article will only be considered if more extensive experiments and discussion are presented (even if the same methods are used) and/or the methods have been significantly improved and/or advanced (even if the same datasets have been used). The burden of explicitly describing the differences between these publications rests with the author(s). Resource and Energy Economics
Resource and Energy Economics publishes theoretical and empirical papers, firmly grounded in economic theory, that advance our understanding of and provide novel insights into environmental and natural resource problems and policies broadly defined, as well as analyses of energy use and markets that link resource and environmental issues to energy.Contributions may address any problem involving economic and environmental linkages, including, but not limited to, utilization, conservation and development of the earth's natural resources (renewable and non-renewable, including critical materials); climate change mitigation and adaptation; innovation and the energy transition; pathways to sustainable growth and development; international trade and global environmental problems; non-market valuation methodology and novel applications of valuation techniques; experimental or behavioural economics pertaining to environmental and natural resources; the choice and impact of environmental policy instruments; and economic choices and/or behaviour related to energy and the environment. Also of interest are energy-related papers addressing regional or global pollution as well as the relationships between renewable and non-renewable energy sources and markets.Resource and Energy Economics is an economics journal. Hence, economic analysis is central to all papers that we publish. We are most interested in research that advances the theoretical and/or empirical understanding of natural resource and environmental economics. We do not publish studies that are limited to engineering or cost analyses, empirical analyses that document relationships between variables without identifying the theory or underlying mechanism(s) giving rise to these relationships, or localized studies without broader relevance. Papers limited to the study of prices, markets or finance are not within the scope of the journal unless the topic is linked to natural resource and environmental issues (such as energy efficiency, consumption, externalities, renewables, environmental policy, resource extraction, climate, instrument choice, welfare change, etc.). Papers that are determined by the editors to not be a good fit with the above aims and scope or are deemed to not meet the scientific standards of the journal will be returned without review.

Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment
Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment publishes original research on the environmental impacts of transportation, policy responses to those impacts, and their implications for the design, planning, and management of transportation systems. It covers all aspects of the interaction between transportation and the environment. For example, it includes papers ranging in their coverage from the local and immediate effects of transportation networks on the environments of specific geographical areas, to the widest global implications of natural resource depletion and atmospheric pollution.The journal invites submissions of research papers on all modes of transportation, including maritime and air transportation as well as land transportation, and considers their impacts on the environment in the broad sense. Papers dealing with both mobile aspects and transportation infrastructure are considered. The emphasis of the journal is on empirical findings and policy responses of a regulatory, planning, technical or fiscal nature. Articles are primarily policy-driven and should be relevant and applied as well as being accessible to readers from a wide range of disciplines. There are no disciplinary boundaries to work considered and submissions of an interdisciplinary nature are welcomed. Equally, the journal is fully international in its orientation and invites contributions from economically developing, as well as more economically advanced, countries.TRD includes a section focusing on Disasters and Resilience with its own dedicated Section Editors. Transportation plays a critical role in the resilience of communities. Disasters are unexpected, low probability events which can overwhelm the capacity of systems to function and provide vital services supporting human health, environmental quality, and economic and social livelihoods. Transportation systems are essential to effective disaster response, relief, recovery, and mitigation. This section of TRD encourages transportation researchers from multiple disciplines to address the critical ways in which transportation science and the supporting theories, methods, and tools can be applied to increase societal resilience against all hazards, both natural and man-made.

Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism
Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism offers a dedicated outlet for research relevant to social sciences and natural resources. The journal publishes peer reviewed original research on all aspects of outdoor recreation planning and management, covering the entire spectrum of settings from wilderness to urban outdoor recreation opportunities. It also focuses on new products and findings in nature based tourism and park management. JORT is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary journal, articles may focus on any aspect of theory, method, or concept of outdoor recreation research, planning or management, and interdisciplinary work is especially welcome, and may be of a theoretical and/or a case study nature. Depending on the topic of investigation, articles may be positioned within one academic discipline, or draw from several disciplines in an integrative manner, with overarching relevance to social sciences and natural resources. Acta Oecologica
Acta Oecologica is venue for the publication of original research articles in ecology. We encourage studies in all areas of ecology, including ecosystem ecology, community ecology, population ecology, conservation ecology and evolutionary ecology. There is no bias with respect to taxon, biome or geographic area. Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome, but combinations are particularly sought. Priority is given to papers based on explicitly stated hypotheses. Acta Oecologica also accepts review papers.The forum section is reserved for short papers with critical discussion of current issues in ecology, as well as comments and viewpoints on previously published papers.
