The Agricultural and Biological Sciences collection advances science-based knowledge for the improvement of animal and plant life and for secure food systems that produce nutritious, novel, sustainable foods with minimal environmental impact. Food Science titles include not only those products from agriculture but all other aspects from food production to nutrition, health and safety, chemistry to security, policy, law and regulation. Biological Sciences address animal behaviour and biodiversity, organismal and evolutionary biology, entomology, marine biology and aquaculture, plant science and forestry.

    Plant Gene publishes high-quality research that advances understanding of plant genes and genomes, including their regulation, expression, function, and evolution and their roles in plant biology, adaptation, and traits of biological or agricultural relevance. Plant Gene welcomes hypothesis-driven, descriptive, confirmatory, and resource-generating studies when they provide sound data and clear value to the plant genetics and genomics community. Computational studies and resource articles must provide appropriate biological, functional or benchmarking validation. Studies in algae and other photosynthetic organisms, as well as plant-associated microorganisms, are also considered when they provide clear insights into plant gene or genome biology or plant–microbe interactions.Studies that are purely descriptive, with limited biological, comparative, or resource value, as well as computational predictions without adequate validation or interpretation, are generally outside the scope of the journal.Plant Gene is a companion journal to Gene and a member of the Gene Family of journals, alongside Gene Reports and Human Gene, offering a coordinated forum for research on genes, genetic variation, and gene function, with Plant Gene offering a focused platform for plant-centered gene and genome research.

    Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism offers a dedicated outlet for social science and natural resource research relevant to outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism.The journal publishes peer-reviewed, original research that advances our understanding of outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism in the context of sustainable outdoor leisure sites and protected area management and planning. JORT covers the entire spectrum of settings, ranging from wilderness to urban outdoor recreation opportunities.JORT is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary journal. Articles may focus on any aspect of theory, method, or concept of outdoor recreation or nature-based tourism research, planning, or management. Interdisciplinary work is especially welcome and may be of a theoretical and/or case study nature. Depending on the topic of investigation, articles may be positioned within a single academic discipline or drawn from multiple disciplines in an integrative manner. Submissions should have an overarching relevance to the social sciences and natural resources and demonstrate a clear connection to nature-based tourism or outdoor recreation in natural settings. Submissions may comprise fundamental or applied research but should offering insights into the relevance of the work for managers, planners, and policymakers. Therefore, each article is accompanied by an executive summary, written by the editors or authors, highlighting the aspects of the article most relevant to outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism planning and management.JORT is international in scope and attracts scholars from all reaches of the world to facilitate the exchange of ideas.     Food Policy is a multidisciplinary journal publishing original research and novel evidence on issues in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of policies for the food sector in developing, transition, and advanced economies.Our main focus is on the economic and social aspect of food policy, and we prioritize empirical studies informing international food policy debates. Provided that articles make a clear and explicit contribution to food policy debates of international interest, we consider papers from any of the social sciences. Descriptive or confirmatory studies on biological processes previously described in other model species, are welcome, as long as they are driven by a clear hypothesis and conducted with appropriate methodologies.Journa... of Experimental Horticulture DOES NOT accept papers based on non-horticultural species, such as cereals, forestry, medicinal and industrial crops. Studies on plant-pathogen interactions that primarily focus on the pathogen, molecular biology studies or biotechnological applications without a clear orientation toward horticulture, and technological approaches unrelated to horticultural science (e.g., engineering applications or fruit processing) will be considered OUT of SCOPE. We place a high value on molecular investigations of fruit during postharvest, however, papers focused solely on the application of postharvest technologies will be considered OUT of SCOPE.The journal will also organize Special Issues on important and specific topics curated by Guest Editors.
