Limnologica publishes peer-reviewed articles that provide new insights into biological, physical and chemical aspects of freshwater ecosystems and adjacent habitats, both from basic and applied research. We welcome original contributions and reviews to understanding mechanisms that govern ecosystem responses to environmental change (e.g. trophic state, climate, usage, impoundment) or to problem-solving (e.g. ecological engineering, bioindication, restoration and conservation) as well as contributions on aquatic ecosystems or world regions that have been less frequently studied. Limnologica is a primary journal for limnologists, aquatic ecologists, freshwater biologists, aquatic geochemists and environmental engineers working with freshwater ecosystems and their catchments.

Livestock Science promotes the sound development of the livestock sector by publishing original, peer-reviewed research and review articles covering all aspects of the broad field of animal production and animal science. The journal welcomes submissions on the avant-garde areas of animal genetics, breeding, growth, reproduction, nutrition, physiology, and behaviour in addition to genetic resources, welfare, ethics, health, management and production systems. The high-quality content of this journal reflects the truly international nature of this broad area of research. Submissions focusing on diagnosis, disease treatments and epidemiology are not welcomed and works entirely based on either laboratory work or laboratory animals are only rarely considered. Papers presenting reviews and meta-analyses must ensure that they provide new insights to our readers. When the novelty of the research presented (including meta-analyses) is due to the methods used, authors are encouraged to classify their works as either Short Communications or Technical Notes. Although the use of commercial compounds is allowed, they must not be the basis of the research presented. Our board does not consider papers based on the use of drugs in experiments, such as antibiotics in animal nutrition or behaviour modifiers in animal breeding.

Marine Environmental Research publishes original research papers on chemical, physical, and biological interactions in the oceans and coastal waters. The journal serves as a forum for new information on biology, chemistry, and toxicology and syntheses that advance understanding of marine environmental processes.Submission of multidisciplinary studies is encouraged. Research Papers form the core of the journal, with a typical length of 6000 words and a maximum of 10000 words. 2. Reviews are between 8000 and 20000 words, on topics cross traditional lines. 3. Short Communications are short research papers, with a typical length of 3000 words, and a maximum of 5000 words, 3 Figures or Tables. 4. Baseline Papers are less than 5000 words, contain an abstract and keywords, brief introductory remarks, methodology with mandatory quality assurance and quality control information, results and short discussion but do not have sections or subsections. These papers are baselines related with marine pollution (including toxicant levels; ecological and ecotoxicological data) and must bring original data and information to support a better understanding of marine environmental issues. 5. Micro Articles are very short papers, less than 3000 words or 2 pages. They must consist of a single, but well-described piece of information, namely: • Original Data and/or a plot plus a description • Description of a new method, experiment or instrumentation •Descriptive case study 6. Perspective papers discuss about subjective positions, viewpoints or new concepts within less than 2000 words.Marine Pollution Bulletin does not publish articles that present only model development or processes in water treatment plants.

Meat Science has been the leading journal in its field now for more than 40 years.The qualities of meat – its composition, nutritional value, wholesomeness and consumer acceptability – are largely determined by the events and conditions encountered by the embryo, the live animal and the postmortem musculature. The control of these qualities, and their further enhancement, are thus dependent on a fuller understanding of the commodity at all stages of its existence – from the initial conception, growth and development of the organism to the time of slaughter and to the ultimate processing, preparation, distribution, cooking and consumption of its meat.It is the purpose of Meat Science to provide an appropriate medium for the dissemination of interdisciplinary and international knowledge on all the factors which influence the properties of meat. The journal is predominantly concerned with the flesh of mammals; however, contributions on poultry will only be considered, if they demonstrate that they would increase the overall understanding of the relationship between the nature of muscle and the quality of the meat which muscles become post mortem.
