Acta Oecologica is venue for the publication of original research articles in ecology. We encourage studies in all areas of ecology, including ecosystem ecology, community ecology, population ecology, conservation ecology and evolutionary ecology. There is no bias with respect to taxon, biome or geographic area. Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome, but combinations are particularly sought. The European Journal of Mechanics - B/Fluids publishes papers in Eglish in all fields of fluid mechanics. Although investigations in well-established areas are within the scope of the journal, recent developments and innovative ideas are particularly welcome. Theoretical, computational and experimental papers are equally welcome. Mathematical methods, be they deterministic or stochastic, analytical or numerical, will be accepted provided they serve to clarify some identifiable problems in fluid mechanics, and provided the significance of results is explained. Similarly, experimental papers must add physical insight in to the understanding of fluid mechanics.Fast Tracks in the European Journal of Mechanics B/Fluids is a venue for short papers with significant original results across the full range of fluid mechanics. Papers submitted as Fast Tracks will receive priority handling by a dedicated editor, to ensure accelerated publication, and will appear in a dedicated EJMB/Fluids section of each journal volume. Precambrian Research publishes studies on all aspects of the early stages of the composition, structure and evolution of the Earth and its planetary neighbours. NDT&E international publishes peer-reviewed original research on non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E) for the assessment of the structural integrity of engineering structures. The journal covers the established NDT&E sensing modalities of ultrasonics, electromagnetics, radiography as well as optical and thermal methods. The journal also covers research on new NDT&E techniques, and novel applications of established methods. In all cases, the focus should be on the physics and engineering science of the inspection method or application. The expectation is that any modelling or simulation is accompanied by experimental evidence. The journal covers all application areas in which NDT&E is used including, mechanical, aerospace and civil structures. Other novel application areas are considered where a close link to either traditional applications or techniques can be shown. Application-focused studies should go beyond being examples of best practice and include clear novel features and have wider implications. Whilst NDT&E most commonly relates to periodic inspections, long-term monitoring scenarios are also considered.The journal considers contributions on novel signal processing and data analysis methods where they can be demonstrated to enhance NDT&E applications. Machine learning is now an accepted tool for the analysis of NDT data. Hence, whilst papers that use machine learning are considered, its use must go beyond best practice and should fundamentally advance the field of NDT. Games and Economic Behavior
Games and Economic Behavior (GEB) is a general-interest journal devoted to the advancement of game theory and its applications. Game theory applications cover a wide range of subjects in social, behavioral, mathematical and biological sciences, and game theoretic methodologies draw on a large variety of tools from those sciences.Publication criteria: GEB publishes general-interest papers that significantly advance the frontiers of game theory and its applications. This is a high bar, but the journal's editors are open-minded about the interpretations and trade-offs involved. For example, a paper in industrial organization that deals with corporate takeover might be of general game-theoretic interest if it contributes to our understanding of coalition formation. Similarly, the analysis of games played by computer algorithms might be relevant to modeling strategic thinking. The editors are also open-minded about the frontiers. They are happy to publish papers that, while not in currently popular areas, lead to significant new frontiers in game theory and applications. Authors are therefore encouraged to make a clear case, in the paper itself, that it meets these publication criteria. Evaluation procedure: Each paper is initially assigned by GEB's chief editor to one of the seven editors (including himself), who has final decision authority. In determining their decisions, editors consult with advisory editors and reviewers who are anonymous to the authors. The assigned editor then (non-anonymously) communicates her/his decision to the corresponding author in a decision letter, usually accompanied by one or more referees' and/or advisory editors' reports. Currently GEB publishes about 15% of the submitted papers. However, when editors decide that a submitted paper does not have a chance of meeting the journal publication criterion, they "desk-reject" the paper without going through the standard, lengthy evaluation process. Journal of Hydrology publishes original research papers and comprehensive reviews in all the subfields of the hydrological sciences, including water based management and policy issues that impact on economics and society.
