    The Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (JAND) is the official research publication of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The purpose, expressed in the mission statement, is to be "the premier peer-reviewed journal in the field of food, nutrition, and dietetics." JAND is published in both print and electronic formats and publishes pre-proof and Articles in Press (articles posted on JAND's website before the print version). Submission to JAND is open to all individuals in the food, nutrition, and dietetics profession as well as allied health fields. JAND publishes manuscripts that advance knowledge across a wide range of research and practice issues in nutrition and dietetics. Evidence-based contributions of original research; focused meta-analyses of cohort and randomized clinical trials; systematic reviews; and innovative research applications are welcome. Topics include foods and nutrients and their implications in health and disease; dietary patterns and dietary interventions; nutritional science, nutrigenomics, and medical nutrition therapy; translational research; dietetics practice and public health; nutrition epidemiology and bio-statistical applications in nutrition research; foodservice systems; leadership and management in food and nutrition systems and application to public policy; and medical nutrition and dietetics education. Food science and biotechnology submissions are welcome providing there is application to human health with relevance for dietitians. International contributions on global topics of nutrition interest are also welcome, providing there is relevance to the largely US readership and findings are placed within that context. Major trends that impact research and practice in the fields of food, nutrition, and dietetics may also be considered if placed in appropriate contexts for JAND 's readership (eg, population demographic transitions, environmental trends, health care advancements). JAND does not publish market research studies; studies that lack testable hypotheses or measurable objectives; studies that use un-validated scientific methods; sections from theses or dissertations unless systematic and rigorous in their design. JAND does not publish animal studies, studies lacking scientific rigor and quality control, studies without a control group when indicated by study design, or studies with random findings or author opinions. Abstracts that were presented at a scientific meeting do not preclude a manuscript from consideration for publication. Reviewing and closely following the guidelines will facilitate the review of your manuscript and save time for authors and reviewers. JAND follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations for clinical trial registration and requires registration of all clinical trial studies that began after January 1, 2011. The ICMJE requires registration of clinical trials in a public trials registry at or before the time of first patient enrollment as a condition of consideration for publication. According to the ICMJE, a clinical trial is defined as "any research project that prospectively assigns people or a group of people to an intervention, with or without concurrent comparison or control groups, to study the cause-and-effect relationship between a health-related intervention and a health outcome. Health-related interventions are those used to modify a biomedical or health-related outcome; examples include drugs, surgical procedures, devices, behavioral treatments, educational programs, dietary interventions, quality improvement interventions, and process-of-care changes. Health outcomes are any biomedical or health-related measures obtained in patients or participants." See www.icmje.org/about-... for a list of acceptable ICMJE clinical trial registries. Secondary data analyses of primary (parent) clinical trials should not be registered as separate clinical trials, but instead reference the trial registration number of the primary trial in the manuscript text. Please report the trial registration number (TRN) and the website where the clinical trial is registered on the author page when submitting an article. In addition, the TRN should be included in the methods section of the manuscript.

    An Official Journal of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC)Psychology of Sport and Exercise is an international forum for scholarly reports in the psychology of sport and exercise, broadly defined. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches. To be considered for publication, manuscripts must make a substantive theoretical or methodological contribution. Manuscripts that will be considered for publication include results from high quality empirical research, reviews, meta-analyses, reports of professional practice (which need to demonstrate academic rigour and go beyond mere description), registered reports, and commentaries concerning already published PSE papers. Authors should adhere to recognised reporting guidelines for research (e.g., PRISMA guidelines for reviews and meta-analyses; TIDieR guidelines for interventions; CONSORT statement for randomised trials). Registered reports undergo a two-phase review process in which study rationale and methodology are considered prior to the research being undertaken. Authors are welcome to pre-register their study with an external organization (e.g. OSF), but it is not required. Authors interested in submitting replications of published studies need to contact the Editors-in-Chief before they start their replication. Quantitative studies should be theoretically informed and empirical research justified with a-priori power estimates provided (drawing on effects sizes from previous meta-analyses and/or specific papers with designs close to the one authors use). Qualitative studies should address the ontological/epistemo... position and methodological rigour of the study. We are not interested in manuscripts that aim to test the psychometric properties of an existing scale from English to another language, unless new validation methods are used which address previously unanswered research questions.Additional information If you wish to contact one of the Editors-in-Chief for any reason, (e.g. becoming a reviewer, interest in joining editorial board, issue about journal policy) please email the Editors-in-Chief. All manuscripts should be presented as concisely as possible. Authors should consider making available some of their material as supplementary electronic material to keep the overall page limit around 30 pages (8000 words) including references, tables, and figures. If manuscripts are mixed-methods, multiple experiments, complex designs, or include large tables and data sets (qualitative and/or quantitative), authors are requested to provide more information about their rationale for a longer page length (more than 8000 words) for their paper during the review process (e.g., in the cover letter to the Editors). The editorial team will then decide on the appropriateness of a longer page length when considering the submission. All submissions are screened by one of the editors before they are sent out for review to assess their suitability for the journal. Hence, there is no need to contact the editors prior to submission. The editors will also consider short communications for publication and such submissions should be a maximum of 15 pages including abstract (150 words max), main text, references, tables, and figures. The journal will consider for publication studies that directly link brain function with cognitive processes, including perception, attention and consciousness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition. Submission of papers using methodologies such as functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and brain stimulation to significantly advance cognitive and psychological theory is strongly encouraged.Neuropsyc... has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding the brain basis of human cognition and behavior. Studies that employ a purely behavioral approach in neurologically healthy participants are not appropriate for the journal unless the findings have a direct and significant bearing on the understanding of the neural mechanisms or systems supporting cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Special issues and Review Papers are published regularly with the aim of providing authoritative surveys of topics of major interest.

    Pharmacology Biochemistry & Behavior publishes original reports in the areas of pharmacology and biochemistry in which the primary emphasis and theoretical context are behavioral. Contributions may involve clinical, preclinical, or basic research. Purely biochemical or toxicology studies will not be published.Papers describing the behavioral effects of novel drugs in models of psychiatric, neurological and cognitive disorders, and central pain must include a positive control unless the paper is on a disease where such a drug is not available yet.Papers focusing on physiological processes (e.g., peripheral pain mechanisms, body temperature regulation, seizure activity) are not accepted as we would like to retain the focus of Pharmacology Biochemistry & Behavior on behavior and its interaction with the biochemistry and neurochemistry of the central nervous system.Papers describing the effects of plant materials are generally not considered, unless the active ingredients are studied, the extraction method is well described, the doses tested are known, and clear and definite experimental evidence on the mechanism of action of the active ingredients is provided.

Archives of Psychiatric Nursing considers psychiatric and mental health nursing in its broadest perspective, including theory, practice, education, research, and policy applications related to all ages, special populations, settings, mental health disciplines, in both the public and private sectors. Archives of Psychiatric Nursing is a medium for international clinician-scholars to provide theoretical linkages among diverse areas of practice. Manuscripts are sought that will inform current practice and shape public policy for the diverse and equitable delivery of psychiatric and mental health nursing services.
