JRP also solicits, in a brief report format, theoretically grounded, well-executed replication and null result studies. Such studies-though often difficult to publish-play a crucial role in building a cumulative knowledge base within any discipline and in fostering valid generalized casual inferences, especially through meta-analysis.In addition to encouraging substantively and theoretically novel papers, JRP encourages submissions that use strong and innovative methodologies, such as longitudinal studies, diary studies, experiments, or quasi-experiments, as well as those that use non-self-report data (e.g., other reports, implicit methods, narratives). To broaden the base of published research, JRP further encourages studies that include non-college students as participants.Cross-s... self-report studies conducted among convenience samples can make important contributions to the literature. However, such studies are also relatively easy to conduct and have some important limitations. Although single-study papers that use these methods will be considered at JRP, we have somewhat higher expectations regarding the size and the novelty of the contribution that such studies can make. Learning and Motivation
Learning and Motivation publishes research that advances fundamental understanding of learning, cognition, and motivation in humans and animals. The journal prioritizes studies offering clear empirical and/or theoretical contributions, characterized by methodological rigor, conceptual innovation, and relevance to both the scientific community and broader society.We welcome manuscripts addressing topics such as associative and non-associative learning, applied behavior analysis, relational frame theory, self-determination theory, cognitive and motivational mechanisms, comparative and evolutionary approaches, neural and biological underpinnings, and the roles of emotion and affect in learning and motivation.Both basic and applied research are welcome, provided that applied studies, in areas such as clinical and educational settings, advance theoretical understanding and offer substantive theoretical or empirical insights into learning and/or motivation, beyond the description of phenomena or evaluation of interventions. Journal of Choice Modelling
The Journal of Choice Modelling publishes theoretical and applied papers in the field of choice modelling. Papers are expected to either make a methodological contribution to the field, or to present an innovative application. The journal is not limited to one area of study, such as transport or marketing, but invites contributions from across a range of disciplines where the analysis of choice behaviour is a topic of interest. While the majority of papers focus on the use of discrete choice models, contributions looking at other methods are also welcome. Journal of Psychology and EducationLearning and Individual Differences is a research journal devoted to publishing articles of individual differences as they relate to learning within an educational context. The Journal focuses on original empirical studies of high theoretical and methodological rigor that make a substantial scientific contribution and advance our knowledge on individual differences as they relate to cognitive and/or non-cognitive features across diverse learning contexts. The Journal receives submissions from different fields such as psychology, educational sciences, and the learning sciences and welcomes interdisciplinary research.Learning and Individual Differences publishes original research. There are three types of original articles: Full length articles, brief reports, and multistudy reports. Full length articles should be no longer than 8000 words of primary text (not including abstract, educational relevance and implications statement, tables, figures, references, and other materials). Brief reports should be no longer than 4000 words of primary text (not including abstract, educational relevance and implications statement, tables, figures, references, and other materials). Systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis should be no longer than 15000 words of primary text (not including abstract, educational relevance and implications statement, tables, figures, references, and other materials).The core criteria for whether a manuscript is published are its scientific rigor and the new knowledge that it adds to the existing body of knowledge. To this end, we are particularly looking for manuscripts that report on longitudinal data analyses, include data on diverse (in the best case representative) or underrepresented populations, and combine several sources of information such as self-report and objective performance data. Inclusion of power calculations where appropriate is considered an advantage. Research in Autism
Research in Autism (REIA) publishes high quality empirical articles and reviews that contribute to a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) at all levels of description; genetic, neurobiological, cognitive, and behavioral. The primary focus of the journal is to bridge the gap between basic research at these levels, and the practical questions and difficulties that are faced by autistic individuals and their families, as well as carers, educators and clinicians. In addition, the journal encourages submissions on topics that remain under-researched in the field. We know shamefully little about the causes and consequences of the significant language and general intellectual impairments that are very common among the autism community. Even less is known about the challenges that autistic women face and less still about the needs of autistic individuals as they grow older. Medical and psychological co-morbidities and the complications they bring with them for the diagnosis and treatment of ASD represents another area of relatively little research. Psychology of Sport and Exercise
An Official Journal of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC)Psychology of Sport and Exercise is an international forum for scholarly reports in the psychology of sport and exercise, broadly defined. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches. To be considered for publication, manuscripts must make a substantive theoretical or methodological contribution. Manuscripts that will be considered for publication include results from high quality empirical research, reviews, meta-analyses, reports of professional practice (which need to demonstrate academic rigour and go beyond mere description), registered reports, and commentaries concerning already published PSE papers. Authors should adhere to recognised reporting guidelines for research (e.g., PRISMA guidelines for reviews and meta-analyses; TIDieR guidelines for interventions; CONSORT statement for randomised trials). Registered reports undergo a two-phase review process in which study rationale and methodology are considered prior to the research being undertaken. Authors are welcome to pre-register their study with an external organization (e.g. OSF), but it is not required. Authors interested in submitting replications of published studies need to contact the Editors-in-Chief before they start their replication. Quantitative studies should be theoretically informed and empirical research justified with a-priori power estimates provided (drawing on effects sizes from previous meta-analyses and/or specific papers with designs close to the one authors use). Qualitative studies should address the ontological/epistemo... position and methodological rigour of the study. Body Image
Body Image is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality, scientific articles on body image and human physical appearance. Body image represents a person's "inside view" of their body-that is, their feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and beliefs about their body that impact how they behave toward it (Cash, 2004). While physical appearance is an important aspect of body image, it is not the only aspect, as embodiment (how a person uses their body to engage with the world) and focusing on (and appreciating) body functionality are additional aspects of body image. We invite contributions from a broad range of disciplines - psychological science, other social and behavioral sciences, and medical and health sciences. We have a weight-inclusive focus rather than a weight-normative or weight-centric focus (see here for an explanation).Body Image publishes a variety of article types, including original research articles, brief research reports, theoretical and review papers (systematic reviews and meta-analyses), scale development and adaptation articles, replication studies, protocol articles, methodological innovations that could be used to advance body image research, unexpected/null results articles, and ideas worth researching. We encourage articles that center minoritized populations. Cognitive Psychology
Cognitive Psychology publishes articles that make important theoretical contributions in any area of cognition, including memory, attention, perception, language processing, categorization, thinking, and reasoning. The development and decline of cognitive processes as a function of maturation and aging are also relevant topics. Cognitive Psychology specializes in longer, more integrative articles that have a major impact on theories of cognition. We welcome submissions that use modeling or neuroscientific approaches, literature reviews, or incisive experiments to provide a substantial theoretical advance. Clinical Psychology Review
Clinical Psychology Review publishes substantive reviews of topics germane to clinical psychology. Papers cover diverse issues including: psychopathology, psychotherapy, behavior therapy, cognition and cognitive therapies, behavioral medicine, community mental health, assessment, and child development. Papers should be cutting edge and advance the science and/or practice of clinical psychology.Reviews on other topics, such as psychophysiology, learning therapy, experimental psychopathology, and social psychology often appear if they have a clear relationship to research or practice in clinical psychology. Integrative literature reviews and summary reports of innovative ongoing clinical research programs are also sometimes published. Eating Behaviors
Eating Behaviors is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing human research on the etiology, prevention, and treatment of the full range of eating pathology (e.g., obesity, binge eating, eating disorders) in diverse groups of adults and children. Studies related to the promotion of healthy eating and weight management patterns are also of interest. Two types of manuscripts are encouraged: (1) Descriptive studies establishing functional relationships between eating behaviors and social, cognitive, environmental, attitudinal, emotional or biochemical factors; (2) Clinical outcome research evaluating the efficacy of prevention or treatment protocols.The journal's emphasis is on empirical research. That is, sound experimental design combined with valid, reliable assessment and evaluation procedures are a requisite for acceptance. Generally, case studies are not accepted for publication. The Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science is the official journal of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).Contextual Behavioral Science is a systematic and pragmatic approach to the understanding of behavior, the solution of human problems, and the promotion of human growth and development. Contextual Behavioral Science uses functional principles and theories to analyze and modify action embedded in its historical and situational context. A notable portion of submissions to JCBS are cross-sectional survey studies on psychological flexibility-related processes (e.g., validating these measures, testing their relation to mental health and related outcomes).
