An International Journal Devoted to Fundamental and Applied Research on Colloid and Interfacial Phenomena in Relation to Systems of Biological OriginColloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces is an international journal devoted to fundamental and applied research on colloid and interfacial phenomena in relation to systems of biological origin, having particular relevance to the medical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, food and cosmetic fields.Submissions that: (1) deal solely with biological phenomena and do not describe the physico-chemical or colloid-chemical background and/or mechanism of the phenomena, and (2) deal solely with colloid/interfacial phenomena and do not have appropriate biological content or relevance, are outside the scope of the journal and will not be considered for publication.The journal publishes regular research papers, reviews, short communications and invited perspective articles, called BioInterface Perspectives. The BioInterface Perspective provide researchers the opportunity to review their own work, as well as provide insight into the work of others that inspired and influenced the author. Regular articles should have a maximum total length of 6,000 words. In addition, a (combined) maximum of 8 normal-sized figures and/or tables is allowed (so for instance 3 tables and 5 figures). For multiple-panel figures each set of two panels equates to one figure. Short communications should not exceed half of the above. It is required to give on the article cover page a short statistical summary of the article listing the total number of words and tables/figures.

Current Opinion in Colloid and Interface Science (COCIS) is an International Journal focused molecular and nanoscopic aspects of colloidal systems and interfaces encountered in materials science, biologically-relevant systems, energy and environmental technologies, and industrial applications. COCIS is not a primary journal; rather, it seeks to guide the researcher through the maze of recently published literature, critically analyses the state of the art, identifies bottlenecks, unsolved issues and proposes future developments. The Journal highlights areas and papers which, in the opinion of the Editors and the Section Editors, are of special interest and significance.The scope of COCIS is divided in five Sections that include subtopics as listed below:Colloid components and colloidal materials (surfactants, polymers and polyelectrolytes, emulsions and microemulsions, self-assembly)Biological systems, medicine and health (biological colloids and interfaces, drug delivery, food colloids, cosmetics)Films and charged systems (electrokinetics, thin liquid films and foams, wetting and spreading)Colloidal systems for energy and environmental technologies (energy and energy storage, environmental technologies)Advanced methodologies (microscopy methods, NMR, rheology, surface analysis techniques, surface forces, x-ray, light and neutron scattering, theory and simulation)In addition, COCIS publishes "hot topic" special issues focused on emerging or timely topics. For each of the above areas, Section Editors are appointed, who commission expert scientists to write informed and critical articles on a selected topic. COCIS articles are not intended to be comprehensive compilations of the relevant literature, but are rather personal articles by the invited contributor(s), which aim to inform the reader of the major developments in the area, and to identify those papers which have made the greatest impact on the field, and open new perspectives. Food Hydrocolloids publishes original and innovative research concerned with the characterisation, functional properties and applications of hydrocolloid materials used in food products. Hydrocolloids are defined as polysaccharides and proteins of commercial importance that are added to food products to control, for example, the texture, stability, rheology and sensory properties. The key focus of the research should be on the hydrocolloids themselves. The source and nature of the hydrocolloid materials should be fully described and details of their physicochemical characteristics provided. Manuscripts should clearly outline the specific aims and objectives of the research and must include a fundamental discussion of the research findings at the molecular level and their significance. Manuscripts that simply report data without providing a detailed interpretation of the results will not be accepted for publication in the journal. Studies on hydrocolloids in complex formulations should focus on their influence on the overall properties and their mechanism of action. JEAC (Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry) is the foremost international journal devoted to the interdisciplinary subject of electrochemistry in all its aspects, theoretical as well as applied.Papers presenting new and interesting electrochemical science that is accessible to the reader are particularly welcomed. Authors should pay particular attention to the key issues of novelty, topicality and quality. The presentation and discussion should be at a level that is consistent with the international status of JEAC.JEAC does not accept reports describing the application of well-established techniques to problems that are essentially technical. Similarly, papers that report observations but fail to provide adequate interpretation will be rejected. Papers dealing with technical electrochemistry should be submitted to other specialist journals unless the authors can show that their work provides substantially insights into electrochemical processes.

A Review JournalSurface Science Reports contains invited review papers on experimental and theoretical studies in the physics, chemistry and pioneering applications of surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures. It covers topics which contribute to a better understanding of basic phenomena occurring on surfaces and interfaces, but also the application of this knowledge to the development of materials, processes and devices. "Surfaces" is defined in this journal to include all interfaces between solids, liquids, polymers, biomaterials, nanostructures, soft matter, gases and/or vacuum. The journal also contains reviews of experimental techniques and methods used to characterize surfaces and surface processes, e.g. those based upon the interactions of photons, electrons and ions with surfaces.
