Authors may want to further describe, extend and give higher visibility to the theoretical work that they have published in this way. We are therefore pleased to announce that Cells & Development will now consider submissions of extended and more detailed versions of Supplementary Theory material published in other biological or generalist journals. To be considered, these articles must introduce significant additional material and discussion of previously published results. They must explicitly refer to the article where the Supplementary Theory text was originally published. Reproduction of the previously published figures or text materials should be minimal and appropriately referenced, in accordance with copyright requirements of the other journal.With this initiative, Cells & Development is aiming at promoting quantitative approaches to biology by giving the opportunity to theorists to better explain and highlight their contribution to multidisciplinary studies.Cells & Development does not publish descriptive studies of gene expression patterns and molecular screens; for submission of such studies see Gene Expression Patterns .- ISSN: 0925-4773

Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism offers a dedicated outlet for social science and natural resource research relevant to outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism.The journal publishes peer-reviewed, original research that advances our understanding of outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism in the context of sustainable outdoor leisure sites and protected area management and planning. JORT covers the entire spectrum of settings, ranging from wilderness to urban outdoor recreation opportunities.JORT is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary journal. Articles may focus on any aspect of theory, method, or concept of outdoor recreation or nature-based tourism research, planning, or management. Interdisciplinary work is especially welcome and may be of a theoretical and/or case study nature. Depending on the topic of investigation, articles may be positioned within a single academic discipline or drawn from multiple disciplines in an integrative manner. Submissions should have an overarching relevance to the social sciences and natural resources and demonstrate a clear connection to nature-based tourism or outdoor recreation in natural settings. Basic, Translational, and Clinical Research in NeuromodulationAbout Brain StimulationBrain Stimulation is the premier journal for publishing research in the field of neuromodulation. The journal includes: a) original articles; b) invited and original reviews or commentaries; and c) letters to the Editor. Special issues of the journal will be considered based on scientific merit.Brain Stimulation publishes original work across the entire field of brain stimulation, including noninvasive and invasive techniques and technologies that alter brain function using electrical, magnetic, radiowave, sound, light, focally targeted pharmacologic stimulation, or any other physical method to directly alter neural function. This includes investigations that study the effects of brain stimulation on basic processes, such as gene expression and other aspects of molecular biology, neurochemical regulation, functional brain activity, sensorimotor function, and cognitive and affective processes at the systems level. Interacting with the brain through normal sensory routes (e.g. vision, sound, touch, smell) is not defined as brain stimulation for this journal. As an equal partner with this basic emphasis, the journal has strong representation of research on the therapeutic potential and adverse effects of the stimulation technologies. Research in therapeutics includes not only clinical trials, but also conceptual pieces, discussions of ethics as they pertain to this field, services research, and epidemiology.The journal also publishes the highest level of research on the biophysics and biopsychophysics of stimulation paradigms, as well as the use of these techniques as a probe to outline patterns of neural connectivity. The journal will consider any form of neuromodulation that impacts on brain processes. Spinal cord stimulation or peripheral nerve stimulation will be considered only if behavioral effects are mediated by a central brain mechanism. The journal scope does not include psychological manipulations, such as visual or auditory presentation, nor are routine pharmacology studies appropriate for this journal.
