    The Journal of Structural Biology (JSB) publishes papers dealing with the experimental structural analysis of biological material at every level of organization by all methods that lead to an understanding of biological function in terms of molecular and supramolecular structure. Advancements in computational and other structure analysis methods will also be considered by the journal.Techniques covered include:• Light microscopy including confocal microscopy • All types of electron microscopy • X-ray and neutron diffraction • Nuclear magnetic resonance • Scanning force microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, and tunneling microscopy • Digital image processing • Computational analysis of structural information that result in increased insights into the functioning of the biological materialsThe field covered by the journal extends from the structural organization of cells and tissues, their membranes, compartments, organelles and supramolecular assemblies, to the structure and conformation of proteins and nucleic acids from the molecular to the atomic level. Purely computational approaches on drug binding and drug development are outside the scope of the journal.

    International Journal of Cognitive ScienceCognition is an international journal that publishes theoretical and experimental papers on the study of the mind. It covers a wide variety of subjects concerning all the different aspects of cognition, ranging from experimental studies of behavior and of the brain to formal analysis.Papers will be selected on the basis of their scientific quality, their degree of innovation and their unambiguous theoretical advance to the study of cognition. Paper's overall soundness of the argument and degree of empirical motivation, especially from converging sources, are more important than adherence to specific methodological principles. Studies that selectively focus on the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underlie problems with cognition in clinical populations or on purely methodological questions fall outside the scope of Cognition. Because Cognition enjoys a wide readership from many disciplines, authors should explicitly consider the general theoretical issues raised by their work and its relevance to other topics and methods. Materials should describe work done and methods used in a clear and explicit manner (allowing reproduction of the methods by others).

    Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that directly link brain function with cognitive processes, including perception, attention and consciousness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition. Submission of papers using methodologies such as functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and brain stimulation to significantly advance cognitive and psychological theory is strongly encouraged.Neuropsyc... has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding the brain basis of human cognition and behavior. Studies that employ a purely behavioral approach in neurologically healthy participants are not appropriate for the journal unless the findings have a direct and significant bearing on the understanding of the neural mechanisms or systems supporting cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Special issues and Review Papers are published regularly with the aim of providing authoritative surveys of topics of major interest.
