  • Nuclear Medicine and Biology

    • ISSN: 0969-8051
Official Journal of the Society of Radiopharmaceutical SciencesNuclear Medicine and Biology publishes original research addressing all aspects of radiopharmaceutical science for imaging as well as therapeutic applications. More specifically the synthesis (automated and manual), in vitro and ex vivo studies, in vivo biodistribution by dissection or imaging, radiopharmacology, radiopharmacy of new radiopharmaceuticals... Translational studies of novel targeted radiopharmaceuticals... e.g. first in human use, are warmly welcomed. In addition, in vivo imaging studies using radioactive tracers for physiological and pathophysiological research or drug discovery support are welcome. In all cases, the importance of the target to an unmet clinical need should be the first consideration. These multidisciplinary studies should validate the mechanism of localization whether the tracer is based on binding to a receptor, enzyme, antigen, or another well-defined target. The studies should be aimed at evaluating how the chemical and radiopharmaceutical properties affect pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or therapeutic efficacy. Ideally, the study would address the sensitivity of the tracer to changes in disease or treatment, although studies validating mechanism alone are acceptable as well. In the case of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals... the specificity of labeled compound localization and therapeutic effect should be addressed. If the synthesis of a new radiopharmaceutical is submitted without in vitro or in vivo data, then the uniqueness of the chemistry must be emphasized and should provide a substantial improvement over existing methodologies.Articl... related to radiopharmacy, addressing the issues of preparation, automation, quality control, dispensing, and regulations applicable to qualification and administration of radiopharmaceuticals to humans, are also welcome if the article provides a significant impact on the field.

  • Developmental Cell

    • ISSN: 1534-5807
Developmental Cell, launched in 2001, is a broad-interest journal covering the areas of cell biology and developmental biology. In addition to publishing work spanning all areas of cell biology and developmental biology, we have particular interest in how these fields interface with each other and with other disciplines in biology. The journal aims to showcase work that examines, through a cell biological lens, the fundamentals of how a cell works, how cells interact with one another and with the environment, how cells come together to form a tissue, organ, and ultimately a whole organism, and what happens when any of these processes go awry. Our PhD-trained scientific editors work with authors, reviewers, and editorial board members to publish 12 issues each year, filled with exciting research describing results of unusual significance. We also publish review and perspective articles tailored to the journal’s broad readership. With this wide coverage, Developmental Cell is a unique cross-disciplinary resource for researchers in cell biology and developmental biology and for the general scientific community.Developmental Cell will consider papers in any area of cell biology or developmental biology, as well as at the interface either of these fields make to any other areas in biology. Examples of these include signaling, cell proliferation, polarity, cell migration, cell lineage and fate specification, chromatin regulation and function, cancer cell biology, evo-devo, disease etiology, membrane traffic, metabolic regulation, morphogenesis and biomechanics, organ development, ncRNAs, stem cell biology, and regeneration. We are also interested in studies building on large datasets or developing new tools that could be good fits for our Resource or Technology formats. The primary criterion for publication in Developmental Cell, as for all Cell Press journals, is new biological insight. We are happy to consider any study that leads to important new conclusions about biological function.
  • International Journal for Parasitology

    • ISSN: 0020-7519
Sponsored by the Australian Society for ParasitologyThe International Journal for Parasitology publishes the results of original research in all aspects of basic and applied parasitology, including all the fields covered by its Specialist Editors, and ranging from parasites and host-parasite relationships of intrinsic biological interest to those of social and economic importance in human and veterinary medicine and agriculture. Original research includes the development of novel and innovative concepts and ideas, as well as experimental and observational science that raises new hypotheses. We do not publish new genome sequences and assemblies alone without new and significant insight into the biology of the parasite, the parasite-host relationship or mechanisms of pathogenesis. Because of its breadth of discipline coverage, the aims and significance of all contributions should be made clear to readers who are not expert in the particular subject of papers. In applied parasitology, it will tend to favour contributions of broader significance to the subject rather than narrow, highly specialised applications. The principal form of publication is the full length paper which contains substantial results from a major program of research. The Journal also provides a medium for the publication of shorter, but complete, papers reporting highly significant original findings, as Succinctus articles. It also publishes Thematic Issues incorporating papers on a topical theme and commissions papers with emphasis on shorter, focussed Reviews of topical issues and strategically important subjects. The Journal encourages critical comment and debate on matters of current controversy in parasitology via "Current Opinions".The International Journal for Parasitology has also launched two specialist, open access titles you are welcome to submit to:International Journal for Parasitology: Parasites and WildlifeInternationa... Journal for Parasitology: Drugs and Drug Resistance

    • ISSN: 0009-8981
International Journal of Clinical Chemistry and Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine The Official Journal of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC)Clinica Chimica Acta is a high-quality journal which publishes original Research Communications in the field of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, defined as the diagnostic application of chemistry, biochemistry, immunochemistry, biochemical aspects of hematology, toxicology, and molecular biology to the study of human disease in body fluids and cells. The objective of the journal is to publish novel information leading to a better understanding of biological mechanisms of human diseases, their prevention, diagnosis, and patient management. Reports of an applied clinical character are also welcome. Papers concerned with normal metabolic processes or with constituents of normal cells or body fluids, such as reports of experimental or clinical studies in animals, are only considered when they are clearly and directly relevant to human disease. Evaluation of commercial products have a low priority for publication, unless they are novel or represent a technological breakthrough. Studies dealing with effects of drugs and natural products and studies dealing with the redox status in various diseases are not within the journal's scope. Development and evaluation of novel analytical methodologies where applicable to diagnostic clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, including point-of-care testing, and topics on laboratory management and informatics will also be considered. Studies focused on emerging diagnostic technologies and (big) data analysis procedures including digitalization, mobile Health, and artificial Intelligence applied to Laboratory Medicine are also of interest.
  • Molecular Aspects of Medicine

    • ISSN: 0098-2997
Molecular Aspects of Medicine is a review journal for Physicians and Biomedical Scientists and an official journal of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Molecular Aspects of Medicine aims to encourage the bridging of the gap between clinicians of all relevant specialities and biomedical scientists. The journal anticipates that most of the authors contributing to the series will be practising clinical scientists who will develop their own personal perspective as an extended review on the molecular aspects of a field of medicine in which they are working, addressing themselves both to the doctor who is ill-at-ease with basic science, and to the basic scientist with little awareness of the problems of clinical practice. It publishes articles on a spectrum of topics in medicine to illustrate not only the molecular insights that derive from the application of basic science, but also the variety of challenging problems that medicine is able to offer the basic scientist.Submission... on from biochemistry and molecular and cell biology to physiology, pharmacology and pathology are particularly welcomed.

They divide their section into a number of topics, ensuring that the field is comprehensively covered and that all issues of current importance are emphasised. Section Editors commission reviews from authorities on each topic that they have selected. Reviews Authors write short review articles in which they present recent developments in their subject, emphasising the aspects that, in their opinion, are most important. In addition, they provide short annotations to the papers that they consider to be most interesting from all those published in their topic over the previous year.Editorial Overview Section Editors write a short overview at the beginning of the section to introduce the reviews and to draw the reader's attention to any particularly interesting developments.Ethics in Publishing: General Statement The Editor(s) and Publisher of this Journal believe that there are fundamental principles underlying scholarly or professional publishing. While this may not amount to a formal 'code of conduct', these fundamental principles with respect to the authors' paper are that the paper should: i) be the authors' own original work, which has not been previously published elsewhere, ii) reflect the authors' own research and analysis and do so in a truthful and complete manner, iii) properly credit the meaningful contributions of co-authors and co-researchers, iv) not be submitted to more than one journal for consideration, and v) be appropriately placed in the context of prior and existing research. Of equal importance are ethical guidelines dealing with research methods and research funding, including issues dealing with informed consent, research subject privacy rights, conflicts of interest, and sources of funding. While it may not be possible to draft a 'code' that applies adequately to all instances and circumstances, we believe it useful to outline our expectations of authors and procedures that the Journal will employ in the event of questions concerning author conduct. With respect to conflicts of interest, the Publisher now requires authors to declare any conflicts of interest that relate to papers accepted for publication in this Journal. A conflict of interest may exist when an author or the author's institution has a financial or other relationship with other people or organizations that may inappropriately influence the author's work. A conflict can be actual or potential and full disclosure to the Journal is the safest course. All submissions to the Journal must include disclosure of all relationships that could be viewed as presenting a potential conflict of interest. The Journal may use such information as a basis for editorial decisions and may publish such disclosures if they are believed to be important to readers in judging the manuscript. A decision may be made by the Journal not to publish on the basis of the declared conflict. For more information, please refer to: https://www.elsevier...
