Journal of Stored Products Research
The Journal of Stored Products Research provides an international medium for the publication of both reviews and original results from laboratory and field research on all aspects of the preservation and safety of stored products along the supply chain starting from production to the consumer. The scope covers both durable commodities, and fresh fruits, vegetables, and freshly manufactured foodstuffs. Durable commodities are characterized by having relatively low moisture content and include raw and semi-processed foods such as grains, dried fruits, and animal feed, and other stored products such as timber, rubber, resins, clothing, and museum artefacts that are generally suitable for long-term storage. Papers will be rejected if the editor or the referees cannot assess the paper’s contribution based solely on the main text (i.e., without referring to appendices). The current turnaround time to a first decision is 39 days, with an approximate acceptance rate of 12%. Sports Economics Review (SER) welcomes submissions that deal with various economic topics in the sports industry or manuscripts that use sports as a laboratory to study human behavior. The journal views sports economics as a part of economic science and welcomes sport related contributions from fields such as behavioral economics, development economics, finance, game theory, health economics, industrial organisation, labor economics, political economics, public economics, sports analytics, and urban economics. The journal is open to different research methodologies that are employed in general interest economic journals, as long as they are relevant to the topic and employed rigorously. Literature reviews that integrate findings from many studies are also welcome, but they should synthesize the literature in a useful manner and provide a substantial contribution beyond what the reader could get by simply reading the abstracts of the cited papers. In empirical work, it is important that the results are not only precise but also economically relevant. In addition, empirical papers are expected to follow a clear identification strategy. The International Review of Economics Education is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to promoting innovations in economics education with potential for widespread adoption and demonstrable impact on student outcomes. We consider all areas of teaching, learning, curriculum and module design and assessment as suitable for innovation, experimentation, and evaluation. The journal welcomes contributions in the following areas:Theoretical and empirical papers with carefully studied impact on student outcomes. Student outcomes are broadly defined and may include grades (marks) and their distributions, student progression, continuation and degree outcomes, employability skills and other skills embedded in the nationally recognised descriptors of economics degree learning outcomes, as well as motivation and feedback on the work of their instructors. Student outcomes also relate to inputs, such as effort, motivation, teaching quality, and institutional resources, so studies relating those are also welcome. Student outcomes are also known to vary across students with diverse characteristics. Therefore, in an environment of a widening access and participation of students in economics education, evaluating outcomes across the distribution of student observables is also welcome. Studying entrepreneurship as a design science means that the ultimate, if not immediate, goal of all contributions should be instrumental, i.e. the development of knowledge or tools that improve the art and skill of entrepreneurial design. In this sense, entrepreneurship is similar to other design sciences such as engineering and medicine. And much like these fields draw on the physical and life sciences, entrepreneurship (and management more generally) in part relies on explanatory and descriptive knowledge produced in various social science disciplines. There is also potential in interdisciplinary contributions that relate entrepreneurial design to insights from other design science disciplines, such as product design, service design, organization design, software design, and information systems design.Importantly, the focus on instrumental knowledge does not imply that explanatory or descriptive research will not be published. It does, however, mean that such works should explicitly aim toward the development of more instrumental knowledge or tools. To illustrate, explanatory research seeking a general causal mechanism on the form 'X causes A under condition B' can be turned into an instrumental design principle if X can be manipulated with predictable results. Body Image is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality, scientific articles on body image and human physical appearance. Body image represents a person's "inside view" of their body-that is, their feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and beliefs about their body that impact how they behave toward it (Cash, 2004). While physical appearance is an important aspect of body image, it is not the only aspect, as embodiment (how a person uses their body to engage with the world) and focusing on (and appreciating) body functionality are additional aspects of body image. We invite contributions from a broad range of disciplines - psychological science, other social and behavioral sciences, and medical and health sciences. We have a weight-inclusive focus rather than a weight-normative or weight-centric focus (see here for an explanation).Body Image publishes a variety of article types, including original research articles, brief research reports, theoretical and review papers (systematic reviews and meta-analyses), scale development and adaptation articles, replication studies, protocol articles, methodological innovations that could be used to advance body image research, unexpected/null results articles, and ideas worth researching. Journal of Development Economics
The Journal of Development Economics publishes original research papers relating to all aspects of economic development - from immediate policy concerns to structural problems of underdevelopment. The emphasis is on quantitative or analytical work, which is novel and relevant. The Journal does not publish book reviews. We welcome papers that take up questions in development economics that are of interest to the general readers of the journal, and then use data from a particular country or region to answer them. However, we do not publish articles that are essentially in-depth studies of a specific country, region, case, or event whose findings are unlikely to be of great interest to the general readers of the journal. In our review process we pre-screen all papers, some of which are immediately rejected. This includes papers that are not considered to be a good fit in terms of the topic or the methodology even though development is a broad field and sometimes this is a matter of subjective judgment. This also includes papers that fall short of our high standards, in terms of the contribution or value added to the literature, or in terms of methodological rigor. The Journal receives approx. 1300 papers per year and publishes only a small fraction (around 6-8%). To make this work in a timely fashion we only send 1/4 papers out for review. Given this volume we regret that we cannot provide explanations on our desk reject papers. Under normal circumstances, an author cannot submit (either s/he directly or through a co-author) more than three papers within any 12 month period. Papers that are once rejected by the JDE will not be considered for publication again, even if the authors use a new dataset or a new model. This is only possible if the editor in his or her decision letter explicitly leaves open this possibility. Special submissions:Register... Reports: The JDE offers authors the opportunity to have their prospective empirical projects reviewed and approved for publication before the results are known (referred to as 'Registered Reports'). This pre-results review track may be particularly suitable for authors working on research projects for which they have not yet collected or accessed data. Submissions in this track will follow existing policies outlined in the Author Information Pack, including the Mandatory Replication Policy, but specific information is available in the JDE Registered Reports Author Guidelines.
