JCP encourages original scientific contributions in advanced mathematical and numerical modeling reflecting a combination of concepts, methods and principles which are often interdisciplinary in nature and span several areas of physics, mechanics, applied mathematics, statistics, applied geometry, computer science, chemistry and other scientific disciplines as well: the Journal's editors seek to emphasize methods that cross disciplinary boundaries.JCP also encourages the submission of papers that develop innovative methods bridging mathematical, physical modeling and algorithmization, e.g. at the frontier between predictive simulation and machine learning. When addressing problems previously covered by other approaches, a comparison should be provided. As for any paper in JCP, the efficacy, robustness, computational complexity, as well as reproducibility should be addressed.JCP also publishes short notes of 4 pages or less (including figures, tables, and references but excluding title pages). Letters to the Editor commenting on articles already published in this Journal will also be considered. Neither notes nor letters should have an abstract. Review articles providing a survey of particular fields are particularly encouraged. JCP does not impose a formal page limit. Authors are expected to present their work clearly and concisely. Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems
A journal of IFAC, the International Federation of Automatic ControlNonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems (NAHS) welcomes all original research papers on mathematical concepts, tools, and techniques from control theory, computer science, and applied mathematics for the modelling, analysis and design of hybrid dynamical systems, i.e., systems involving the interplay between discrete and continuous dynamic behaviors.Hybrid systems are ubiquitous in many branches of engineering and science as they can model broad ranges of dynamical systems. In particular, in cyber-physical systems, which integrate sensing, computation, control and communication (cyber) parts into physical objects and infrastructures, hybrid systems play an instrumental role. The description of the behavior of the cyber parts often calls for discrete models (automata, finite-state machines, switching logic, etc.), while the physical (thermal, mechanical, electrical, physical, biological) parts are well captured by continuous modelling formalisms (e.g., differential equations), thereby naturally resulting in hybrid system models such as (stochastic) hybrid automata, timed automata, switched systems, impulsive systems, jump-flow models, piecewise affine systems, non-smooth systems, etc. Also, many physical phenomena can often be well described by non-smooth or hybrid models, including mechanical systems with impacts and friction (walking robots), switched power converters and biological systems (e.g., firing neuron models).Hybrid systems can exhibit very rich dynamics and their analysis calls for new and strong theorical foundations to guarantee their stability, safety, functionality, and performance. The development of systematic methods for efficient and reliable design of hybrid systems is therefore a key challenge on the crossroads of control theory and computer science. It is currently of high interest to control engineers, computer scientists and mathematicians in research institutions as well as in many industrial sectors.Contribution... to Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems are invited in all areas pertaining to hybrid dynamical systems including: Modeling, modeling languages and specification;Analys... computability and complexity;Stochasti... hybrid systems;Impulsive systems;Formal verification and abstraction;Optimiza... and controller synthesis;Control over communication networks including self- and event-triggered control;Network Science and multi-agent systems;Fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control;Simulation, implementation and tools;Safety, security, privacy, and resilience for cyber-physical systems;Planning and integrated control in dynamical systems.Contribution... on applications of hybrid dynamical systems methods are also encouraged. Fields of interest include: process and manufacturing industries, automotive and mobility systems, avionics, communication networks and networked control systems, energy and power systems, transportation networks, cyber-physical and embedded systems, (synthetic) biology and biomedical applications, life sciences, safety-critical systems, mobile and autonomous robotics, and other related areas.- ISSN: 1751-570X

Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics
The Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics (JASTP) is an international journal concerned with the inter-disciplinary science of the Earth's atmospheric and space environment, especially the highly varied and highly variable physical phenomena that occur in this natural laboratory and the processes that couple them. The journal covers the physical processes operating in the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, ionosphere, magnetosphere, the Sun, interplanetary medium, and heliosphere. Phenomena occurring in other "spheres", solar influences on climate, and supporting laboratory measurements are also considered. The journal deals especially with the coupling between the different regions.Geoeffective solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and other energetic events on the Sun lead to geomagnetic disturbances of the Earth's magnetosphere and directly affect processes in the Earth's ionosphere and atmosphere.  Such processes in the solar-terrestrial chain of connections are determined by time intervals and are united in the concepts of "space weather" and "space climate".  These topics are central to the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics, and the journal welcomes papers that lead toward a predictive understanding of the coupled system. Regarding the upper atmosphere, the subjects of aeronomy, geomagnetism and geoelectricity, auroral phenomena, radio wave propagation, and plasma instabilities, are examples within the broad field of solar-terrestrial physics which emphasise the energy exchange between the solar wind, the magnetospheric and ionospheric plasmas, and the neutral gas. In the lower atmosphere, topics covered range from mesoscale to global scale dynamics, to atmospheric electricity, lightning and its effects, and to anthropogenic changes.Submissions on these topics may include:The results of experiments and their interpretations, and results of theoretical or modelling studies;Papers dealing with remote sensing carried out from the ground or space and with in situ studies made from rockets or from satellites orbiting the Earth;and,Plans for future research, often carried out within programs of international scope. The Journal also encourages papers involving:Large scale collaborations, especially those with an international perspective;Rapid communications;Paper... dealing with novel techniques or methodologies;Commis... review papers on topical subjects and tutorial reviews;and,Special issues arising from chosen scientific symposia or workshops.JASTP aims to publish innovative research and as such, papers representing incremental improvements to previous studies will, in general, not be considered for publication. Case studies should be of broad interest to the diverse international readership of JASTP and so papers of limited or local significance are not appropriate for this journal. This journal welcomes contributions that support and advance the UN's sustainable development goals, in particular SDG 13 (Climate Action)- ISSN: 1364-6826

Measurement
Journal of the International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO)Contributions are invited on novel achievements in all fields of measurement and instrumentation science and technology. Authors are encouraged to submit novel material representing achievements in the field, whose ultimate goal is an enhancement of the state-of-the-art of subjects such as: measurement and metrology fundamentals, measurement science, sensors, measurement instruments, measurement and estimation techniques, measurement data processing and fusion algorithms, evaluation procedures for performance analysis of measurement systems, processes and algorithms, mathematical models for measurement-oriented purposes, and distributed measurement systems in a connected world.Notes:Papers including measurement results that, although important to validate any given scientific study but which offer no new insights in an area different from measurement science or technology, do not fall within the scope of this journal; The disciplined usage of well-known metrological terms is strongly required. Authors can access information on all relevant terms such as measurement accuracy, uncertainty, the law of propagation of uncertainty and other, similar terms: these are defined in internationally approved guidelines such as the International Vocabulary of Metrology (VIM) and Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM), which are freely available on https://www.bipm.org... paper must clearly describe the measurement context in which the research was carried out by undertaking a critical review of the state-of-the-art of the relevant body of knowledge in instrumentation and measurement and by showing how the research presented advances it;The letter accompanying the submission must describe clearly how the paper satisfies the above requirements.Papers that focus on image processing or fault diagnosis with little or no elements of measurement science or technology will not be considered within the journal scope.Papers that are based on military applications are out of scope for the Journal and are not considered for publication in measurement.Authors please note: The journal Measurement is receiving an increasing number of papers in the area of machine learning/neural networks and other techniques based on artificial intelligence. These submissions will be desk rejected unless they:prove that the described research advances the state-of-the-art in measurement science and is not just an application of an available tool to known or novel problems, that is used without an appreciation of measurement-related aspects;show that the usage of these tools is put into the correct measurement-related context and not just in the context of machine-learning/neu... network applications;contain enough information about the used tools, data, and results to allow, in principle, anyone to replicate the described results;display the use of specific metrics to strengthen the results of research activities. It must be recalled that Measurement is interested in publishing new methods, techniques, procedures, algorithms, and alike that show how to better measure in nature and in the world. Thus, the capability to describe metrological-related details of the proposed research represents a major difference between papers published by this journal and by other journals publishing papers on similar topics. This major difference must be evident also in papers covering applications of machine learning and soft computing techniques. Failing to adhere to these guidelines will result in a paper desk-reject decision.Authors whose manuscripts focus on the research, development and application of the science, engineering and technology of sensors and sensor systems, are welcome to submit to the journal's open access companion title, Measurement: Sensors .Authors whose manuscripts focus on food and nutrition measurements may also wish to submit to the journal's second open access companion title, Measurement: Food.Authors whose manuscripts focus on energy sources, heat and power generation and all other relevant fields may be interested to submit to the journal's third open access companion title, Measurement: Energy.Authors whose manuscripts focus on all aspects of the foundations, developments, technologies, methodologies, and applications of digital techniques and digitization in measurement, are invited to submit to the journal's fourth open access companion title, Measurement: Digitalization.- ISSN: 0263-2241

Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials
"Who dominates materials dominates technology" Dr. Tadahiro SekimotoMaterials especially crystalline materials provide the foundation of our modern technologically driven world. The domination of materials is achieved through detailed scientific research.Advances in the techniques of growing and assessing ever more perfect crystals of a wide range of materials lie at the roots of much of today's advanced technology. The evolution and development of crystalline materials involves research by dedicated scientists in academia as well as industry involving a broad field of disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, material sciences and engineering. Crucially important applications in information technology, photonics, energy storage and harvesting, environmental protection, medicine and food production require a deep understanding of and control of crystal growth. This can involve suitable growth methods and material characterization from the bulk down to the nano-scale.The knowledge gained requires authentication by publication and peer review. Since the literature is expanding faster than almost any other comparable field of science, it has become increasingly important for the scientific community to fill the need for communication and rapid publication of review articles and conference reports in order to keep abreast of developments in this field. Besides allowing a fast extraction of the available literature and giving state-of the art overviews, the reviews are to inspire scientists across the disciplines and to stimulate "blue-sky thinking".Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials is the only review journal on crystal growth and material assessment including novel applications as well as growth and characterization methods, and acts as a rapid publication medium for review articles and conference reports in the field. Emphasis on practical developments and problems ensures its importance also for scientists in industry.Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials is a review journal. It doesn't publish research articles. If you wish to submit a research article, the Journal of Crystal Growth would be honored to consider the submission.- ISSN: 0960-8974

International Journal of Solids and Structures
The International Journal of Solids and Structures has as its objective the publication and dissemination of original research in Mechanics of Solids and Structures as a field of Applied Science and Engineering. It fosters thus the exchange of ideas among workers in different parts of the world and also among workers who emphasize different aspects of the foundations and applications of the field.Standing as it does at the cross-roads of Materials Science, the physical Sciences, insightful Mathematics, and advanced Engineering, the Mechanics of Solids and Structures is experiencing considerable growth, in part as a result of recent technological advances. The Journal, an international medium of communication, encourages and fosters this growth by encompassing articles in all branches of fields that use mechanics to solve problems, ranging from fundamental physical, mathematical, and numerical aspects to the more applied. We aim always for the new, novel and original, substantive, inventive and enduring. Problems in linear and nonlinear material behavior and failure and on the response and failure of structures form the backbone of the journal covering both traditional and more modern aspects: included are inelastic material and structural behavior, instability and localization in solids and structures, mechanics of soft and biological materials and structures, micro- and nano-mechanics, architected and lattice structures, smart materials and structures, and multi-physics problems. Works in related fields such as heat transfer, wave propagation, modal analysis, optimization, concrete and geological materials, and the development of numerical methods are now supported by dedicated journals, but will be considered provided they are of broad interest and represent significant progress. Articles that make intelligent and insightful use of AI to enhance or supplement, but not replace, the laws of physics will be welcome.Emphasis is placed on contributions, analytical, experimental and numerical, which appear to be of permanent interest to research workers and engineers in the field. Papers that are merely illustrations of established principles and procedures, or either design oriented or geometry-specific, even though possibly containing new numerical or experimental data, will generally not be published. When outstanding advances are made in existing areas, or when new areas have been developed to a definitive stage, special review articles will be considered by the Editors. No length limitations for contributions are set, but only concisely written papers are published. Brief articles are considered on the basis of technical merit. Discussions of previously published papers are welcome. We expect submitted articles to be authored by the researchers themselves. While the use of Generative AI tools like ChatGPT is permitted to enhance the readability and language of the manuscript, it must be clearly declared in a statement at the end of the manuscript upon initial submission. Papers that do not meet this requirement will not be considered and may be returned without review.https://www.s...- ISSN: 0020-7683
