Progress in Polymer Science publishes state-of-the-art overview articles by internationally recognized authorities in polymer science and engineering, one of the fastest growing disciplines. Progress in Solid State Chemistry presents a chemical view of the solid state by providing up-to-date critical reviews written by acknowledged authorities in the field. It also publishes surveys of research progress and specialized articles devoted to summarizing particular recent developments. The aim is to address the need brought about by the literature on the chemistry of the solid state being widely dispersed, making it difficult to obtain a broad and unified assessment of the present state of knowledge. Special emphasis is given to relating physical properties and structural chemistry. Whereas structural chemistry at one time was concerned mostly with perfect solids, most activity focused upon understanding of solid properties focuses on imperfections. Entities such as vacancies, dislocations, and positive holes, which have no independent existence outside the solid itself, are of prime importance in modern solid state chemistry.The reviews published in Progress in Solid State Chemistry emphasize critical evaluation of the field, along with indications of current problems and future directions. Papers are not intended to be bibliographic in nature but rather to inform a broad range of readers in an inherently multidisciplinary field by providing expert treatises oriented both towards specialists in different areas of the solid state and towards nonspecialists. Radiation Measurements provides a forum for the presentation of the latest developments in the broad field of ionizing radiation detection and measurement. The journal publishes original papers on both fundamental and applied research.The journal seeks to publish papers that present advances in the following areas: spontaneous and stimulated luminescence (including scintillating materials, thermoluminescence, and optically stimulated luminescence); electron spin resonance of natural and synthetic materials; the physics, design and performance of radiation measurements (including computational modelling such as electronic transport simulations); the novel basic aspects of radiation measurement in medical physics. Studies of energy-transfer phenomena, track physics and microdosimetry are also of interest to the journal.Applications relevant to the journal, particularly where they present novel detection techniques, novel analytical approaches or novel materials, include: personal dosimetry (including dosimetric quantities, active/electronic and passive monitoring techniques for photon, neutron and charged-particle exposures); environmental dosimetry (including methodological advances and predictive models related to radon); cosmic and high-energy radiation measurements (including dosimetry, space radiation effects, and single event upsets); dosimetry-based archaeological and Quaternary dating; dosimetry-based approaches to thermochronometry; accident and retrospective dosimetry (including activation detectors), and dosimetry and measurements related to medical applications. Generally excluded are topics related to dosimetry and environmental radioactivity for risk assessment, particularly using standard and well-established techniques, where the emphasis is on the results of the measurements rather than on the measurement techniques.Review articles are periodically solicited by the Editors.The journal aims to publish papers containing substantial novelty and scientific impact. An International Journal devoted to their Science and TechnologyReactive & Functional Polymers provides a forum to disseminate original ideas, concepts and developments in the science and technology of polymers with functional groups, which impart specific chemical reactivity or physical, chemical, structural, biological, and pharmacological functionality. The scope covers organic polymers, acting for instance as reagents, catalysts, templates, ion-exchangers, selective sorbents, chelating or antimicrobial agents, drug carriers, sensors, membranes, and hydrogels. This also includes reactive cross-linkable prepolymers and high-performance thermosetting polymers, natural or degradable polymers, conducting polymers, and porous polymers.Original research articles must contain thorough molecular and material characterization data on synthesis of the above polymers in combination with their applications. Applications include but are not limited to catalysis, water or effluent treatment, separations and recovery, electronics and information storage, energy conversion, encapsulation, or adhesion.Full-length papers, perspectives and review articles will be considered. We welcome cutting-edge, original research within our scope. Modelling and simulation work will be considered only when linked to new or previously published experimental results. Lack of originality and novelty, insufficient molecular characterisation, or poor comparison with the current state of the art are reasons for rejection.

Separation and Purification Technology is a journal dedicated to the dissemination of novel methods for separation and purification in chemical and environmental engineering for homogeneous solutions and heterogeneous mixtures. This includes any separation and/or purification of liquids, vapors and gases, resource recycling, purification of biobased feedstocks/products, carbon capture and separation, with the exception of methods intended for analytical purposes. The journal welcomes contributions related to bioseparations in biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, food processing, and environmental applications. Soil science, polymer science and metallurgy are outside the scope of the journal.Contribution... should be always related to new or improved separation methods or principles; applications are welcome provided that they are not a direct implementation of known separation methods.Separation and Purification Technology welcomes contributions focused on experimental studies and theoretical analyses of phenomena associated with and arising from separation and purification as well as process development and simulation, equipment design and fabrication. Preparation and modification of materials used in separation and/or purification operations can be considered if the intended separation and/or purification is an essential part of the work rather than a tool for characterization of a material. Such new materials should allow for separations that cannot be achieved with existing materials; alternative materials for e.g., adsorption are not sufficiently novel. Simulation studies are welcome, but should be accompanied by experimental verification. In view of ethical concerns regarding the detrimental impacts of fluorinated compounds, studies relying fully or in part on materials such as PVDF or PTFE are limited to the environmental impacts of PVDF-based materials used in separations and on possible environmentally-frie... alternatives. Research on fossil fuels is limited to studies not aiming at enhanced exploitation of fossil reserves.Review papers should be written by an author with proven expertise in the field, and provide a critical assessment of the state-of-the-art in a specific topic related to novel approaches in separation and purification.
