Gene Reports is a companion title to Gene and a member of the Gene Family. Gene Reports publishes papers that focus on the regulation, expression, function and evolution of genes in all biological contexts, including all prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, as well as viruses.Gene Reports strives to be a very diverse journal, and topics in all fields will be considered for publication (note that manuscripts on bioinformatics are only considered for review if they contain experiments). General topics include, but are not limited to, those that follow:Genome sciences - Focus on genomic DNA (chromosomal topology and organization, comparative genomics, DNA replication, DNA repair, mobile DNA, mitochondrial DNA, chloroplast DNA).Modern “omics” studies - Focus on the extraction of information from primary high-throughput datasets (e.g., DeepSeq, ChIP-Seq, Affymetrix microarrays, proteomics) that define gene regulatory circuitry, molecular pathways, and protein/protein networks, for the generation of testable hypotheses supported by experimental data.Gene regulation, expression, and function - Focus on processes that mediate gene read-out (epigenetics, chromatin, histone code, transcription, translation, protein degradation). Focus on functional RNAs (microRNAs, tRNAs, rRNAs, mRNA splicing, alternative polyadenylation).Cel... signaling - Focus on the molecular mechanisms that transduce information from extra-cellular signaling (NF-kB, Wnt, Notch, TGFbeta/BMPs, FGFs, IGFs, etc.) or intracellular sensory (PAMPs, DAMPs, DNA, RNA sensing, etc.) cues to the nucleus for gene expression, with a special emphasis on physiological contexts, such as immunity, infectious disease, drug treatment, and cancers.Molecular pathology and regenerative medicine - Focus on the deregulation of molecular processes in human diseases and mechanisms supporting regeneration of tissues through pluripotent or multipotent stem cells.Genetics - Focus on development in model organisms (e.g., mouse, frog, fruit fly, worm), human genetic variation, and population genetics, as well as agricultural and veterinary genetics.Gene Reports encourages submission of novel manuscripts that present a reasonable level of analysis, functional relevance and/or mechanistic insight. Gene Reports also welcomes papers that have predominantly a descriptive component but improve the essential basis of knowledge for subsequent functional studies, or provide important confirmation of recently published discoveries.The primary criteria for acceptance are that the work is original and scientifically sound. The journal appreciates that standards of novelty are arbitrary, differ among disciplines and geographic locations, as well as change with time. In partnership with Editors, Referees and Authors, the journal will promote the revision of papers to ensure that accepted papers are reasonably complete and competitive with concurrent submissions in a given field.Authors are also welcome to submit to the other journals that make up the Gene Family: Gene, Meta Gene, Plant Gene.

Genetics in Medicine (GIM) is an official journal of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. The journal's mission is to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and practice of medical genetics and genomics through publications in clinical and laboratory genetics and genomics, including ethical, legal, and social issues as well as public health. As genetics and genomics continue to increase in importance and relevance in medical practice, the journal is an accessible and authoritative resource for the dissemination of medical genetic knowledge to all medical providers through appropriate original research, reviews, commentaries, standards, and guidelines. GIM encourages research that combats racism, includes diverse populations and is written by authors from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.In addition:GIM does not publish case reportsManuscripts reporting population level research carried out in predominantly or exclusively White populations will generally not be accepted without strong justification for lack of diversity in the population studied.The significance of articles reporting data and/or observations from a limited geographic region is evaluated in the context of whether they are generalizable across relevant populations or whether they might fill a knowledge gap in populations that are underrepresented in genetics research or that experience health disparities.Although cancer genetics is a focus, GIM discourages cancer genetics manuscripts with data limited to somatic and/or tumor genetics. Manuscripts with novel findings on non-germline genetics (for example, somatic [tumor] variation, CHIP [clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential], somatic and constitutional mosaicism) that inform our understanding of germline risk may also be considered. Manuscripts reporting on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) or "liquid biopsy" are also generally not within the scope of GIM.Manuscripts should not contain previously published material without appropriate permission.GWAS studies are generally low priority for GIM.

Genomics is a forum for describing the development of genome-scale technologies and their application to all areas of biological investigation.As a journal that has evolved with the field that carries its name, Genomics focuses on the development and application of cutting-edge methods, addressing fundamental questions with potential interest to a wide audience. Geoderma - The Global Journal of Soil Science - welcomes authors, readers and soil research from all parts of the world, encourages worldwide soil studies, and embraces all aspects of soil science and its associated pedagogy. The journal particularly welcomes interdisciplinary work focusing on dynamic soil processes and functions across space and time.Geoderma aims to stimulate cooperation and understanding among workers in the different fields of soil science by bringing together papers from the entire field of soil research rather than emphasizing any single sub-discipline.The journal publishes primary studies, reviews as well as scientific correspondence with respect to all types of soils, including agricultural, forest, and urban soils. Geoderma Regional aims to publish research that contributes to advancing our knowledge on soils in all regions of the world. Soils formed in different pedo-climatic zones present unique aspects and complexities. Large regional variations in soil characteristics, usage, and challenges to soil health underpin the importance of addressing local soil concerns and implementing region-specific strategies for sustainable soil management.The journal embraces regional perspectives in soil science, promotes interdisciplinary work, and encourages the adoption of appropriate soil classifications. This reflects our commitment to fostering a comprehensive understanding of soils worldwide and enabling the development of sustainable solutions tailored to regional needs. Motivation for Global Food Security arose from concern about the difficulty for scientists and policy makers to keep up with the expanding volume of information published about the challenge of ensuring food systems are meeting human food safety and nutritional requirements whilst protecting the environment, securing livelihoods, mitigating against climate change, and reducing inequalities. The journal takes the food system to incorporate all levels of food production from the supply of agricultural inputs and agricultural production through to final consumption, and the wider technological, environmental, economic, political and social context within which this occurs.Global Food Security aims to publish papers that contribute to better understanding of economic, social, biophysical, technological, political, and institutional drivers of current and future food security at the local to global levels. It aims to stimulate debate that is rooted in robust scientific analysis, has strong interdisciplinary connections, and recognizes the trade-offs that often occur because of reconciling competing objectives and outcomes in promoting the needed transformation of food systems.While integration across academic disciplines is encouraged, papers on specific elements of Global Food Security will also be considered if they address important constraints and have broad geographical relevance. This journal provides a forum to promote knowledge of harmful microalgae and macroalgae, including cyanobacteria, as well as monitoring, management and control of these organisms. The aim of the journal is to provide a forum for papers concerned with basic peripheral and central auditory mechanisms. Emphasis is on experimental and clinical studies, but theoretical and methodological papers will also be considered. The journal publishes original research papers, review and mini- review articles, rapid communications, method/protocol and perspective articles.Papers submitted should deal with auditory anatomy, physiology, psychophysics, imaging, modeling and behavioural studies in animals and humans, as well as hearing aids and cochlear implants. Papers dealing with the vestibular system are also considered for publication.
