Trends in Biotechnology
Trends in Biotechnology is a monthly journal that publishes innovative applications of biology as useful technologies. Our articles should describe biobased solutions to important problems and should emphasize how to engineer or adapt living systems for societal benefit. Specific application areas include human health and well-being, renewable energy, food and agriculture, natural resources, and production of bulk and fine chemicals. A Trends in Biotechnology article should not merely summarize lab-scale research; it should think carefully about implementation, scale-up, and “real world” implications. A key consideration is how to translate or commercialize experimental applied biology to products, industrial platforms, therapies, or devices. Scientific areas of interest include but are not limited to the following: • Synthet... biology • Genome editing • Tissue engineering and biofabrication • Met... engineering • Cellul... and microbial engineering • Plant trait improvement and agricultural engineering • Bioman... and bioelectronics • Bio... bioenergy, microbial fuel cells • Cellular agriculture and alternative nutrients/proteins T... in Biotechnology publishes review articles, opinions, research articles, and reports (or short research articles) on these topics. We also welcome shorter commentary articles on law and intellectual property, policy and regulation, bioethics, scientific communication, and the economics of biotechnology. Additionally, we consider resource articles describing novel approaches for developing biobased technologies. Trends in Biotechnology has a diverse audience that reflects its intentionally broad scope. Our readers include biologists, engineers, chemists, pharmacologists, computer scientists, and physicians, and they work in academic, clinical, industrial, NGO, and governmental settings. Therefore, we emphasize accessible articles that are easy to read, and we encourage authors to keep in mind that many readers may not be familiar with their field's specific terminology. The scope of the journal includes the broad area of in vivo and in vitro studies of mechanistic aspects of nutritional sciences. Preferred manuscripts include studies, which focus on nutrients and/or bioactive compounds with nutritional value derived from diets/whole foods as it relates to: biochemistry, molecular biology, toxicology, immunology or physiology and human health and diseases.Rigorous reviews by an international editorial board of distinguished scientists ensure publication of the most current and key research being conducted in nutrition at the cellular, animal and human level. In addition to its monthly features of critical reviews and research articles, The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry also periodically publishes emerging issues, experimental methods, and other types of articles such as but not limited to policy statements.Contact InformationReto Asmis, Ph.D, Editor-in-Chief The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry Professor, Internal Medicine, Section on Molecular Medicine Wake Forest School of Medicine Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 E-mail address: [email protected]...- ISSN: 0955-2863

Journal of Psychiatric Research
Founded in 1961 to report on the latest work in psychiatry and cognate disciplines, the Journal of Psychiatric Research is dedicated to innovative and timely studies of four important areas of research:(1) Clinical studies of all disciplines relating to psychiatric illness, as well as normal human behaviour, including biochemical, physiological, genetic, environmental, social, psychological and epidemiological factors;(2) Basic studies pertaining to psychiatry in such fields as neuropsychopharmacol... neuroendocrinology, electrophysiology, genetics, experimental psychology and epidemiology;(3) The growing application of clinical laboratory techniques in psychiatry, including imagery and spectroscopy of the brain, molecular biology and computer sciences;(4) Advances in basic and clinical research methodology, including the process of "bench-to-bedside" transfer of new research findings. The Editors-in-Chief will accept papers of high scientific caliber, if necessary after appropriate revision, and will aim for their rapid publication. In addition, the Journal will be enhanced by the inclusion of commissioned reviews, news items, book notices and letters to the Editors.- ISSN: 0022-3956

Journal of Pain and Symptom Management
Advancing Palliative Care, Hospice, and Symptom ResearchOfficial Journal of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the National Alliance for Care at Home The Journal of Pain and Symptom Management is an internationally respected, peer-reviewed journal and serves an interdisciplinary audience of professionals by providing a forum for the publication of the latest clinical research and best practices related to the relief of illness burden among patients afflicted with serious or life-threatening illness. The Journal has strongly supported both quantitative and qualitative research underpinning the evolving discipline of palliative care, including clinical trials of pain or symptom control therapies, epidemiology of phenomena related to life-threatening disease and end-of-life care, instrument development to enhance clinical assessment and facilitate investigation, and health services studies evaluating the outcomes of diverse therapeutic models. It also offers extensive coverage of clinical practice issues, publishing both systematic and narrative reviews, case series and case reports, and both special articles and columns that present important updates on topics as varied as the international diversity of palliative medicine, the economics of palliative care, and bioethics in end-of-life care.- ISSN: 0885-3924

Trends in Molecular Medicine
Trends in Molecular Medicine objective is to provide concise and contextualized views on the latest research moving biomedical science closer to improved diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of human diseases. As such, TMM is dedicated to research disciplines at the interface between basic biology and clinical research. Articles cover new concepts in mechanisms of human biology and pathology with clear implications for diagnostics and therapy. Bridging bench and bedside, reviews published in TMM have clear implications for human health and disease and discuss not only preclinical studies but also research conducted on patient samples, first-in-man studies, and patient-enrolled trials. The major themes covered in TMM in include:Disease mechanismsTools and technologiesDiagnost... particularly seek articles that are relevant to more than one of these themes. The goal of TMM is to serve as platform for discussion, push the boundaries of traditional clinical or scientific categorization and forge new links between scientists and clinicians. TMM reviews and opinions serve as templates for future explorations in molecular medicine, and to inspire new directions of studies toward improving human health. The journal?s focus is on publishing articles that are provocative and authoritative but also accessible to a broad audience.Furthermore 'medicine' involves a vital societal element; molecular interventions raise controversial ethical, legal and financial issues. TMM also publishes discussions concerning the clinical trial landscape, science policy and medical ethics. All these issues are addressed in TMM in a style that builds on 25 years' experience of publishing the Trends journals. For more information, go to http://www.cell.com/...- ISSN: 1471-4914
