Current Opinion in Neurobiology publishes short annotated reviews by leading experts on recent developments in the field of neurobiology. These experts write short reviews describing recent discoveries in this field (in the past 2-5 years), as well as highlighting select individual papers of particular significance. The journal is thus an important resource allowing researchers and educators to quickly gain an overview and rich understanding of complex and current issues in the field of Neurobiology. The journal takes a unique and valuable approach in focusing each special issue around a topic of scientific and/or societal interest, and then bringing together leading international experts studying that topic, embracing diverse methodologies and perspectives.Journal Content: The journal consists of 6 issues per year, covering 8 recurring topics every other year in the following categories:Neurobiol... of DiseaseNeurobiology of BehaviorCellular NeuroscienceSystems NeuroscienceDevelopm... NeuroscienceNeurobio... of Learning and PlasticityMolecular NeuroscienceComputat... NeuroscienceIn addition, every year 2 issues are allocated to Hot Topics. Section Editors, who are major authorities in the field, are appointed by the Editors-in-Chief of the journal to commission reviews from experts on each topic that they have selected. Review articles in Current Opinion in Neurobiology are by invitation only. The journal is part of the Current Opinion and Research (CO+RE) suite of journals and is a companion title to the primary research, open access journal, Current Research in Neurobiology . CO+RE journals leverage the?Current Opinion?legacy of editorial excellence, high-impact, and global reach which ensures they are a widely-read resource, integral to a scientist?s workflow.

Neuroscience and BioBehavioral Reviews is a peer-reviewed journal publishing reviews that integrate brain function and behavior across a range of areas including physiology, psychology, health and disease across the entire lifecourse of model organisms, and humans. The journal publishes review articles, mini-reviews, opinion pieces, and society consensus statements, which are novel and of exceptional significance.Submiss... to the journal are actively encouraged which deal with topics not only in the more traditional areas of behavioral neuroscience, and psychology, but also in the following areas, whenever the reviews bring new insights into brain-behavior relations or biobehavioral health: Aging biology and geroscience, Biological psychiatry, Cognitive neuroscience, Computational modelling and AI, Developmental biology, Endocrinology, Evolutionary Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Metabolic regulation and nutrition, Neuroeconomics, Neuropsychology, Physiology, Pharmacology, and other related disciplines. We do not publish empirical papers, and no unpublished data should be included in the manuscripts. New analyses and modelling of previously published and publicly available dataset are allowed as long as their inclusion is essential to support the narrative of the Review. Simple data re-analyses (including meta-analyses) without a new conceptual or theoretical framework will not be considered. We welcome review articles from clinical researchers whose submission exceeds the high-quality threshold for the journal and significantly advances our understanding of a field. We require a statement disclosing any use of AI tools to assist in writing the acknowledgements section. If none, simply state “No AI tool was used to generate any part of the paper”. Any non-disclosed use of AI may result in editorial withdrawal.

  • Neuropsychologia

    • ISSN: 0028-3932
Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that directly link brain function with cognitive processes, including perception, attention and consciousness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition. Submission of papers using methodologies such as functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and brain stimulation to significantly advance cognitive and psychological theory is strongly encouraged.Neuropsyc... has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding the brain basis of human cognition and behavior. Studies that employ a purely behavioral approach in neurologically healthy participants are not appropriate for the journal unless the findings have a direct and significant bearing on the understanding of the neural mechanisms or systems supporting cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Special issues and Review Papers are published regularly with the aim of providing authoritative surveys of topics of major interest.
