Journals in Microbiology and virology
Elsevier's Microbiology & Virology collection provides comprehensive coverage of viruses and microorganisms, addressing their impact on human, animal, and plant health. It includes topics such as prevention, treatment, and research of viral diseases like coronaviruses, flaviviruses, and viral hemorrhagic fevers. The collection delves into fields like Bacteriology, Mycology, and Microbial genetics, focusing on their roles in environmental, agricultural, and health-related contexts. This resource serves as a vital tool for scientists, facilitating the study of viruses and microorganisms and enabling the development of effective strategies for infectious disease prevention, diagnosis, and control.
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
The International Journal of Biological Macromolecules now also welcomes communications: concise, high-impact reports of timely advances within the journal’s scope.Structure, Function, and InteractionsThe International Journal of Biological Macromolecules is an established international journal of research into chemical and biological aspects of all natural macromolecules. It presents the latest findings of studies on the molecular structure and properties of proteins, macromolecular carbohydrates, glycoproteins, proteoglycans, lignins, biological poly-acids, and nucleic acids. These findings must be new and novel rather than a repeat of earlier or analogous published work. The scope includes biological activities and interactions, molecular associations, chemical and biological modifications, and functional properties. Papers on related model systems, structural conformational studies, theoretical developments and new analytical techniques are also welcome. All papers are required to focus primarily on at least one named biological macromolecule. This naming should appear in the title, the abstract and the text of the paper.Examples of papers which are not appropriate for the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules include Papers in which the biological macromolecule has not been characterized by modern analytical techniques (including molecular weight) rather than historical methods, e.g. colorimetric assaysPapers that focus on biological, physiological and pharmacological aspects of non-macromolecules attached to, or mixed with, biological macromoleculesPapers on the materials science of biocomposites in which there is no mention of any specific biological macromoleculePapers in which the structure or role of the biological macromolecule is not the major proportion of the studyRoutine studies of extraction of macromolecules without purification and characterization of the extracted moleculeApplications of macromolecules in which the structure of the macromolecule is completely unknownPapers in which the molecular weight of the biological molecule is less than five thousandPapers that are majorly about clinical studies and animal trials, in which a biological macromolecule is not the biologically active agent and/or the biological macromolecule is not the major focus of the studyPapers that focus on genes and genomes with the respective data analysis (including bioinformatics and phylogenetic analyses) without the investigation of the molecular structure of the biological macromolecule and the direct evidence of its biological function- ISSN: 0141-8130

Microbial Pathogenesis
Microbial Pathogenesis publishes original contributions and reviews about the molecular and cellular mechanisms of infectious diseases. It covers microbiology, host-pathogen interaction and immunology related to infectious agents, including bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa. It also accepts papers in the field of clinical microbiology, with the exception of case reports.Research Areas Include:Pathogenesis... factorsHost susceptibility or resistanceImmune mechanismsIdentifica... cloning and sequencing of relevant genesGenetic studiesViruses, prokaryotic organisms and protozoaMicrobiotaSy... biology related to infectious diseasesTargets for vaccine design (pre-clinical studies)The journal aims for rapid publication of articles of high quality and significance in an international forum. Please note that reviews are only accepted upon editorial invitation.Short Communications have the following limits. The manuscript should ideally contain no more than 4-6 Figures/Tables and 4000 words, including the title page, all sections of the manuscript (including the references), and Figure/Table legends. The abstract should be limited to 200 words.Microbial Pathogenesis does not accept submissions that primarily consist of (a) bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases, or (b) the testing and evaluation of previously uncharacterized natural product-based drug candidates. The journal does not publish purely bioinformatic or computational studies without substantial experimental validation. Please be aware that experimental validation is a mandatory requirement for all submissions.- ISSN: 0882-4010

Marine Genomics
The journal Marine Genomics publishes papers on all functional and evolutionary aspects of genes, chromatin, chromosomes and (meta)genomes of marine (and freshwater) organisms. It deals with new genome-enabled insights into the broader framework of environmental science. Topics within the scope of this journal include: Population genomics and ecology Evolutionary and developmental genomics Comparative genomics Metagenomics Environmental genomics Systems biologyMore specific topics include: geographic and phylogenomic characterization of aquatic organisms, metabolic capacities and pathways of organisms and communities, biogeochemical cycles, genomics and integrative approaches applied to microbial ecology including (meta)transcriptomic... and (meta)proteomics, tracking of infectious diseases, environmental stress, global climate change and ecosystem modelling.- ISSN: 1874-7787

Clinical Microbiology and Infection
Clinical Microbiology and Infection (CMI) is a monthly publication in English of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and publishes peer-reviewed papers that present basic and applied research relevant to therapy and diagnostics in the fields of microbiology, infectious diseases, virology, parasitology, immunology and epidemiology as related to these fields. The journal also publishes theme issues, editorials, commentaries, and reviews, as well as guidelines originating from European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases study groups. The journal was established in 1995. It is the official journal of the  European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and published by Elsevier.  Please see CMI Editorial Policies for further details.- ISSN: 1198-743X
