The Journal of Frailty & Aging

  • ISSN: 2260-1341
The Journal of Frailty & Aging (JFA) is a e-only gold open access peer-reviewed international journal aimed at presenting articles that are related to research in the area of aging and age-related (sub)clinical conditions. In particular, the journal publishes high-quality papers describing and discussing social, biological, and clinical features underlying the onset and development of frailty in older persons. The Journal of Frailty & Aging is composed by five different sections: Biology of frailty and aging. In this section, the journal presents reports from preclinical studies and experiences focused at identifying, describing, and understanding the subclinical pathophysiological mechanisms at the basis of frailty and aging. Physical frailty and age-related body composition modifications. Studies exploring the physical and functional components of frailty are contained in this section. Moreover, since body composition plays a major role in determining physical frailty and, at the same time, represents the most evident feature of the aging process, special attention is given to studies focused on sarcopenia and obesity at older age.Neurosciences of frailty and aging. The section presents results from studies exploring the cognitive and neurological aspects of frailty and age-related conditions. In particular, papers on neurodegenerative conditions of advanced age are welcomed. Frailty and aging in clinical practice and public health. This journal’s section is devoted at presenting studies on clinical issues of frailty and age-related conditions. This multidisciplinary section particularly welcomes reports from clinicians coming from different backgrounds and specialties dealing with the heterogeneous clinical manifestations of advanced age. Moreover, this part of the journal also contains reports on frailty- and age-related social and public health issues. Clinical trials and therapeutics. This final section contains all the manuscripts presenting data on (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) interventions aimed at preventing, delaying, or treating frailty and age-related conditions. The Journal of Frailty & Aging is a quarterly publication of original papers, review articles, case reports, controversies, letters to the Editor, and book reviews. Manuscripts will be evaluated by the editorial staff and, if suitable, by expert reviewers assigned by the editors. The journal particularly welcomes papers by researchers from different backgrounds and specialities who may want to share their views and experiences on the common themes of frailty and aging. The Journal of Frailty & Aging is indexed in MEDLINE, ESCI (WoS) and Scopus.

The Journal of Nutrition

  • ISSN: 0022-3166
  • 5 Year impact factor: 4.3
  • Impact factor: 3.7
The Journal of Nutrition is the premier journal in its field and publishes peer-reviewed original research papers covering all aspects of experimental nutrition in humans and other animal species; special articles such as reviews and biographies of prominent nutrition scientists; and issues, opinions, and commentaries on controversial issues in nutrition. The Journal of Nutrition is an official monthly publication of the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) and focuses on the review of manuscripts that address human, animal, population, cellular, and molecular nutrition. JN is especially interested in publishing manuscripts that advance the understanding of nutritional mechanisms in human populations, in animals, in relevant model organisms, in appropriate primary cells or cell culture models, and/or at the molecular level. Manuscripts addressing interactions of nutrition with genetics, physiological regulation, health outcomes, and behavioral outcomes are generally well suited for review by The Journal of Nutrition.Types of Manuscripts Original Research Articles, Reviews, Perspectives, Supplements and Symposia, Letters to the Editor, and Corrections are shared article types across ASN's Journals Portfolio, and are described here. Article Types unique to JN are described below. Recommendations for article length can be found here. Most reviews published in JN will be part of a series entitled "Recent Advances in Nutritional Sciences (RANS)." These reviews will be published in a five-page format and provide a recent rather than historical review of the subject matter. These reviews are published to provide current information relative to the wide range of research topics of interest to the readers of JN and to serve as a useful resource for instructors of advanced nutrition courses. Authors are encouraged to cover the general background and history of the research area in a limited amount of space and to update the reader by citing good previously published comprehensive reviews. The majority of the text should deal with recent (last few years) information.More comprehensive reviews and commentaries are published as "Critical Reviews." Critical Reviews are meant to address and discuss published literature. They are not meant for presentation of new systematic reviews or an extensive analysis or reanalysis of data. JN will review suitable systematic reviews as regular research papers. Critical Reviews may be invited by the Editor-in-Chief or initiated by authors. For author-initiated reviews, it is strongly advised that an outline of the proposed review be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief prior to writing so that suitability for JN and the scope of the review can be determined before submission.

Women and Birth

  • ISSN: 1871-5192
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.9
  • Impact factor: 4.4
Journal of the Australian College of Midwives (ACM) Women and Birth is the official journal of the Australian College of Midwives (http://www.midwives.org.au/). It is a midwifery journal that publishes on all matters relating to pregnancy, birth, and the first six weeks post-partum. All papers must draw from, and contribute to, the relevant contemporary research, policy and/or theoretical literature. We focus on primary research papers, systematic reviews and research-informed and critiqued discussion papers. While we are based in Australia, our Editorial Board is multi-national and we welcome papers from all over the world. All papers should reflect our global perspective and reach. Articles are double blind peer-reviewed by experts in the field of the submitted work. Our woman-centred focus is inclusive of the partner, wider family, fetus and newborn, and covers both healthy and complex pregnancies and births. We recognise that individuals have diverse gender identities. Terms such as pregnant person, childbearing people and parent can be used to avoid gendering birth, and those who give birth, as feminine. However, because women are also marginalised and oppressed in most places around the world, we support use of the terms woman, mother or maternity. When we use these words, it is not meant to exclude those who give birth and do not identify as women. The journal seeks papers that take a woman-centred focus on midwifery practice, research, theory, education, management and leadership, maternity service provision, maternal and newborn health, respectful maternity care, breastfeeding, primary health care and relevant aspects of psychology, sociology, human rights and health economics. We welcome papers from all professional disciplines that are relevant to midwifery practice and the scope of the journal. Our key readers are midwives, maternity care and neonatal nurses, maternity service managers, providers and users, obstetricians, neonatologists, health sociologists and economists, psychologists with an interest in maternal and infant research and policy makers and researchers from all these areas. The journal is indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, Thomson Reuters, Scopus and CINAHL.The journal is available online to ACM members and is available by separate subscription.Open Access - the journal offers authors the option of making their article freely available to all via the ScienceDirect platform. Authors can only make this choice after receiving notification that their article has been accepted for publication.ClinicalKey Nursing Visit our nursing resource, ClincalKey NursingTo purchase books on Midwifery or to browse our comprehensive range of Midwifery titles, please visit us at www.elsevierhealth.com.au/midwifery.
