Environmental Science & Policy
Environmental Science & Policy advances research in the intersections between environmental science, policy and society. The journal invites scholarship within this broad thematic that fits with one or more of the following four focal areas: Studies of the relationship between the production and use of knowledge in decision making; Studies of the relation between science and other forms of environmental knowledge, including practical, local and indigenous knowledge; Analyses of decision making practices in government, civil society, and businesses and the ways that they engage environmental knowledge; or Studies that present actionable environmental research with a clear description of how it responds to specific policy directives and the pathways by which this research is informing (or could inform) decision-making. Research can address a wide number of environmental issues, such as climate change, food systems, biodiversity loss, human and ecological well-being, resource use- and extraction, land use change, and sustainability more generally. The journal aspires to achieve an appropriate balance between perspectives from the global North as well as the global South and welcomes discussions of (environmental) justice, equity and inclusion. The journal is particularly interested in cutting edge developments in inter- and transdisciplinary work on co-production; arts-based research; integrated nexus and landscape approaches; the trade-offs and synergies between environmental issues and policies; innovations in integrated assessment, monitoring and evaluation; and transitions and transformative change.Editorial Policy: Submitted articles can offer empirical analysis and can also advance new theory, conceptual frameworks or other innovations. To be considered for publication, articles should fit with the aims and scope of the journal. This means that they should address the relation between environmental science and knowledge, policy and society. To be considered, environmental research articles must go beyond simply stating potential societal and policy relevance. Submitted articles should be of international relevance and well embedded in relevant scholarly conversations and debates, and they should consider the scholarship that has been published in the journal. They should provide a compelling objective and specify how they advance the state of the knowledge beyond the current state of the art. Language Sciences
Language Sciences seeks to provide an outlet for radical and innovative work that enlarges our view of language and languaging. It aspires to be the foremost forum for transdisciplinary research on linguistic behaviour and languaging. We encourage contributions that take a broad view of language and languaging as coordinative, affiliative, and integrational activities that enable human living. Language Sciences is likewise a forum for debates on metatheoretical, epistemological, and axiological issues in the study of language and languaging, broadly conceived. We encourage contributions that challenge the disciplinary boundaries with critical scrutiny of extant theories and methods in the language sciences, and with diversification of the manner in which the object of language studies is conceived and constructed. The vision of Language Sciences is to provide a fertile meeting ground for scholars from a host of disciplines, including (but not limited to) cognitive science, anthropology, biosemiotics, cultural studies, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and ecology. The International Journal of Law, Crime and Justice is an international and fully peer reviewed journal which welcomes high quality, theoretically informed papers on a wide range of fields linked to criminological research and analysis. It invites submissions relating to:Studies of crime and interpretations of forms and dimensions of criminality;Analyses of criminological debates and contested theoretical frameworks of criminological analysis;Research and analysis of criminal justice and penal policy and practices;Research and analysis of policing policies and policing forms and practices;Research and analysis of criminal law and practice from a socio-legal perspective.We particularly welcome submissions relating to more recent and emerging areas of criminological enquiry including cyber-enabled crime, fraud-related crime, terrorism and hate crime.Papers should be between 7,000-10,000 words in length, although shorter papers relating to policy analysis and debate will be considered. Assessing Writing
Assessing Writing is a refereed international journal providing a forum for ideas, research and practice on the assessment of written language. Assessing Writing publishes articles, book reviews, conference reports, and academic exchanges concerning writing assessments of all kinds, including traditional ('direct' and standardised forms of) testing of writing, alternative performance assessments (such as portfolios), workplace sampling and classroom assessment. The journal focuses on all stages of the writing assessment process, including needs evaluation, assessment creation, implementation, and validation, and test development; it aims to value all perspectives on writing assessment as process, product and politics (test takers and raters; test developers and agencies; educational administrations; and political motivations). The journal is interested in review essays of key issues in the theory and practice of writing assessment.Assessing Writing embraces internationalism and will attempt to reflect the concerns of teachers, researchers and writing assessment specialists around the world, whatever their linguistic background. Articles are published in English and normally relate to the assessment of English language writing, but articles in English about the assessment of writing in languages other than English will be considered. While Assessing Writing frequently publishes articles about the assessment of writing in the fields of composition, writing across the curriculum, and TESOL (the teaching of English to speakers of other languages), it welcomes articles about the assessment of writing in professional and academic areas outside these fields.The scope of the journal is wide, and embraces all work in the field at all age levels, in large-scale (international, national and state) as well as classroom, educational and non-educational institutional contexts, writing and programme evaluation, writing and critical literacy, and the role of technology in the assessment of writing. An International Journal on Voting and Electoral Systems and StrategyElectoral Studies is an international journal dedicated to the study of elections and voting in different parts of the world. With a reputation established over more than 35 years of publication, Electoral Studies is widely recognised as a major journal in the field.
