An International Review of General LinguisticsLingua welcomes submissions from all linguistic disciplines, not only general linguistics (i.e. phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics) but also philosophy of language, rhetoric, historical linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, cognitive linguistics, functional linguistics, psycholinguistics, and neurolinguistics.Lin... is open to submissions, whether data-driven or theoretical, that contribute to our understanding of diverse linguistic constructs and communicative phenomena. Lingua is interested in both theoretical and empirical research problems, not restricted by disciplinary boundaries, which help linguists to develop linguistic theory and to better understand all mechanisms of language as a vehicle for communication. Lingua offers a forum for research on language diversity or specificity, as well as common features across languages that govern communication. No particular linguistic theories or scientific trends are favored: scientific quality, scholarly rigor and novel contributions to scholarship are the only criteria applied in the selection of papers accepted for publication.In addition to ORIGINAL RESEARCH PAPERS, Lingua publishes OVERVIEW ARTICLES that critically survey developments in the various fields of language study.A section called NOTES & DISCUSSION features short essays that extend, analyze, or offer alternative interpretations to articles previously published in Lingua. Databases: Their Creation, Management and UtilizationInformati... systems are the software and hardware systems that support data-intensive applications. The journal Information Systems publishes articles concerning the design and implementation of languages, data models, process models, algorithms, software and hardware for information systems.Subject areas include data management issues as presented in the principal international database conferences (e.g., ACM SIGMOD/PODS, VLDB, ICDE and ICDT/EDBT) as well as data-related issues from the fields of data mining/machine learning, information retrieval coordinated with structured data, internet and cloud data management, business process management, web semantics, visual and audio information systems, scientific computing, and data science. We welcome systems papers that focus on implementation considerations in massively parallel data management, fault tolerance, and special purpose hardware for data-intensive systems; theoretical papers that either break significant new ground or unify and extend existing algorithms for data-intensive applications; and manuscripts from application domains, such as urban informatics, social and natural science, and Internet of Things, which present innovative, high-performance, and scalable solutions to data management problems for those domains.All papers should motivate the problems they address with compelling examples from real or potential applications. Systems papers must be serious about experimentation either on real systems or simulations based on traces from real systems. Papers from industrial organizations are welcome. Theoretical papers should have a clear motivation from applications and clearly state which ideas have potentially wide applicability.Author... of selected articles that have been accepted for publication in Information Systems are invited by the EiCs to submit the experiment described in their papers for reproducibility validation. The resulting additional reproducibility paper is co-authored by the reproducibility reviewers and the authors of the original publication.As part of its commitment to reproducible science, Information Systems also welcomes experimental reproducible survey papers. Such submissions must: (i) apply a substantial portion of the different surveyed techniques to at least one existing benchmark and perhaps one or more new benchmarks, and (ii) be reproducible (the validation of reproducibility will result in a separate paper following the guidelines of our Reproducibility Editor).In addition to publishing submitted articles, the Editors-in-Chief will invite retrospective articles that describe significant projects by the principal architects of those projects. Authors of such articles should write in the first person, tracing the social as well as technical history of their projects, describing the evolution of ideas, mistakes made, and reality tests. We will make every effort to allow authors the right to republish papers appearing in Information Systems in their own books and monographs.

Founded in 1992, the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation (JIAAT) publishes research that advances our understanding of international accounting over a diverse range of topics and research methods. JIAAT articles deal with most areas of international accounting, including auditing, financial accounting, taxation, social and environmental accounting, and management accounting. The Journal welcomes research that utilizes a wide range of basic and applied research methods, including archival, experimental, survey, analytical, and case study.The Journal's founding goal was to bridge the gap between academic researchers and practitioners by publishing papers that are relevant to the development of the field of accounting. Within this context, submissions are expected to make a contribution to the academic accounting literature, including as appropriate the international accounting literature typically found in JIAAT and other primary US-based international accounting journals as well as in leading European, Australian, and Canadian academic accounting journals. Applied research findings, critiques of current accounting practices and the measurement of their effects on business decisions, and research-based essays on world affairs which affect accounting practice are all within the scope of the journal.Although the Journal welcomes a wide range of topics, papers may be rejected without being sent out for formal review if the paper is deemed outside of the scope of the journal, too narrow in interest or scope, of unacceptable written quality, or as not sufficiently adhering to the style requirements as outlined in the Guide for Authors. We strongly urge all authors interested in JIAAT to carefully read the Guide to Authors and to examine some of its more recently published articles. Examples of topics outside the scope of the journal include accounting education, attitudes about the implementation and use of software programs, and tax papers with an economics or finance focus rather than an accounting-related tax focus. Papers using a US sample must demonstrate a significant international accounting focus.

For the purposes of determining areas of interest, tourism is defined as a global economic activity comprising travel behaviour, the management and marketing activities of service industries that arise to meet consumer demand, the effects of tourism activities on communities and policy and governance at local, national and international levels. While striving for a balance of theory and application, Annals is ultimately dedicated to developing theoretical constructs that span business and the social and behavioural sciences. Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism offers a dedicated outlet for research relevant to social sciences and natural resources. The journal publishes peer reviewed original research on all aspects of outdoor recreation planning and management, covering the entire spectrum of settings from wilderness to urban outdoor recreation opportunities. It also focuses on new products and findings in nature based tourism and park management. JORT is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary journal, articles may focus on any aspect of theory, method, or concept of outdoor recreation research, planning or management, and interdisciplinary work is especially welcome, and may be of a theoretical and/or a case study nature. Depending on the topic of investigation, articles may be positioned within one academic discipline, or draw from several disciplines in an integrative manner, with overarching relevance to social sciences and natural resources. JORT is international in scope and attracts scholars from all reaches of the world to facilitate the exchange of ideas. As such, the journal enhances understanding of scientific knowledge, empirical results, and practitioners' needs. Journal of Informetrics (JOI) publishes rigorous high-quality research on quantitative aspects of information science. The main focus of the journal is on topics in bibliometrics, scientometrics, webometrics, patentometrics, altmetrics and research evaluation. Contributions studying informetric problems using methods from other quantitative fields, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics and econometrics, and network science, are especially encouraged. JOI publishes both theoretical and empirical work. In general, case studies, for instance a bibliometric analysis focusing on a specific research field or a specific country, are not considered suitable for publication in JOI, unless they contain innovative methodological elements.
