    An International Journal of experimental, clinical and theoretical research on language and the brain.The Journal of Neurolinguistics is an international forum for the integration of the neurosciences and language sciences. JNL provides for rapid publication of novel, peer-reviewed research into the interaction between language, communication and brain processes. The focus is on rigorous studies of an empirical or theoretical nature and which make an original contribution to our knowledge about the involvement of the nervous system in communication and its breakdowns. Contributions from neurology, communication disorders, linguistics, neuropsychology and cognitive science in general are welcome. Published articles will typically address issues relating some aspect of language or speech function to its neurological substrates with clear theoretical import. Interdisciplinary work on any aspect of the biological foundations of language and its disorders resulting from brain damage is encouraged. Studies of normal subjects, with clear reference to brain functions, are appropriate. Group-studies on well defined samples and case studies with well documented lesion or nervous system dysfunction are acceptable. The journal is open to empirical reports and review articles. Special issues on aspects of the relation between language and the structure and function of the nervous system are also welcome.

The investigation of language and its communicational functions is treated as a concern shared in common by those working in applied linguistics, child development, cultural studies, discourse analysis, intellectual history, legal studies, language evolution, linguistic anthropology, linguistics, philosophy, the politics of language, pragmatics, psychology, rhetoric, semiotics, and sociolinguistics.The journal invites contributions which explore the implications of current research for establishing common theoretical frameworks within which findings from different areas of study may be accommodated and interrelated.     Social Science Research publishes papers devoted to quantitative social science research and methodology. The journal features articles that illustrate the use of quantitative methods to empirically test social science theory. The journal emphasizes research concerned with issues or methods that cut across traditional disciplinary lines. Special attention is given to methods that have been used by only one particular social science discipline, but that may have application to a broader range of areas with an ultimate goal of testing social science theory.Social Science Research welcomes submissions that significantly advance quantitative research methods. Judgment of significance will be based on three criteria: 1. Whether or not the problem that the author(s) attempts to solve represents a major obstacle in theory testing; 2. How prevalent the problem is across different social science disciplines and research areas; 3. Whether or not the proposed solution is feasible and definitively superior to existing approaches in a wide range of settings.

    Progress in Planning is a multidisciplinary journal of research monographs with a global readership. It offers an outlet for extended papers in the field of planning. Each issue comprises a single monograph of between 20,000 and 35,000 words. The journal website also offers the opportunity to upload additional material including videos and graphical illustrations. We welcome papers on any aspect of spatial and environmental planning that make a contribution to planning scholarship. The journal is fully peer reviewed. We aim to keep the time between submission and publication as short as possible given the requirements of rigorous peer review.

    formerly the Journal of Socio-EconomicsThe Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics welcomes submissions that deal with various economic topics but also involve issues that are related to other social sciences, especially psychology, or use experimental methods of inquiry. Thus, contributions in behavioral economics, experimental economics, economic psychology, and judgment and decision making are especially welcome. The journal is open to different research methodologies, as long as they are relevant to the topic and employed rigorously. Possible methodologies include, for example, experiments, surveys, empirical work, theoretical models, meta-analyses, case studies, and simulation-based analyses. Literature reviews that integrate findings from many studies are also welcome, but they should synthesize the literature in a useful manner and provide substantial contribution beyond what the reader could get by simply reading the abstracts of the cited papers. In empirical work, it is important that the results are not only statistically significant but also economically significant. A high contribution-to-leng... ratio is expected from published articles and therefore papers should not be unnecessarily long, and short articles are welcome. Articles should be written in a manner that is intelligible to our generalist readership. Book reviews are generally solicited but occasionally unsolicited reviews will also be published.     Computers & Education aims to increase knowledge and understanding of ways in which digital technology can enhance education, through the publication of high-quality research, which extends theory and practice. The Editors welcome research papers on the pedagogical uses of digital technology, where the focus is broad enough to be of interest to a wider education community.We do not publish small-scale evaluations of specific software/systems in specialist domains or particular courses in individual institutions (unless the findings have broader relevance that is explicitly drawn out in the paper). Papers that include discussions of the implementation of software and/or hardware should focus on the context of use, the user/system interface, usability issues and evaluations of the user experience and impacts on and particularly on the implications for learning and teaching. Computers as a delivery platform only is insufficient. Detailed information on implementation architecture should NOT be included in the paper, but may be provided via URLs.We welcome systematic review papers and meta-analyses that include clear research questions, a framework of analysis, and conclusions that reflect the aims of the paper. See PRISMA guidelines for further advice.Authors should take care to refer to and abide by the author guidelines. Papers that do not address the criteria outlined in the author guidelines will be returned without review. Authors are also welcome to submit to the journal's open access companion titles, Computers & Education Open or Computers & Education: Artificial Intelligence.

    Space Policy is an international, interdisciplinary journal which draws on the fields of international relations, economics, history, aerospace studies, security studies, development studies, political science and ethics to provide discussion and analysis of space activities in their political, economic, industrial, legal, cultural and social contexts.Alongside full-length papers, which are subject to a double-blind peer review system, the journal publishes opinion pieces, case studies and short reports and, in so doing, it aims to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and opinions and a means by which authors can alert policy makers and international organizations to their views. Space Policy is also a journal of record, reproducing, in whole or part, official documents such as treaties, space agency plans or government reports relevant to the space community.     Journal of Informetrics (JOI) publishes rigorous high-quality research on quantitative aspects of information science. The main focus of the journal is on topics in bibliometrics, scientometrics, webometrics, patentometrics, altmetrics and research evaluation. Contributions studying informetric problems using methods from other quantitative fields, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics and econometrics, and network science, are especially encouraged. JOI publishes both theoretical and empirical work. In general, case studies, for instance a bibliometric analysis focusing on a specific research field or a specific country, are not considered suitable for publication in JOI, unless they contain innovative methodological elements.

    The Journal of Health Economics publishes economic analyses that deepen understanding of the value, production or distribution of health or healthcare. It aims to publish original research that advances knowledge in health economics or informs health policy.We welcome submissions that use economic theory or methods to deliver insights into a) value of health, b) economic impact of health, c) health behavior and inequality, d) determinants of health, e) healthcare costs, payments and financing, f) production and innovation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, g) healthcare and health insurance competition and regulation, or h) economic evaluation of health policies or programs. We encourage submissions examining these topics in any setting, provided results are relevant outside narrow geographic boundaries. We publish papers of any length. There is no separate submission channel for short papers, which are encouraged. Generally, we do not publish a) opinion pieces, b) (systematic) reviews, c) cost-of-illness studies, d) applications of cost-effectiveness, efficiency or discrete-choice analyses without methodological innovation or high-impact evidence, c) time series analyses, and d) epidemiological studies with no economic analysis. A comment on a JHE article will be published only if it makes a substantial contribution by reevaluating results of a high-impact study.The JHE receives around 1200 submissions per year and publishes around 6%. We pre-screen all submissions and desk reject about 75% that a) fall outside our scope, b) use data or methods likely to compromise evidence validity, or c) do not make a substantial contribution. With a high volume of submissions, unfortunately, we cannot give detailed reasons for each desk-reject decision. There is no process to appeal a reject decision.
