An International Journal on Voting and Electoral Systems and StrategyElectoral Studies is an international journal dedicated to the study of elections and voting in different parts of the world. With a reputation established over more than 35 years of publication, Electoral Studies is widely recognised as a major journal in the field. It publishes theoretically informed and empirically robust research on all aspects of elections, and provides a forum for the analysis of topics such as turnout, voting behaviour, campaigns, political parties and electoral systems, amongst many others. The recent emergence of new democracies in many parts of the world provides a wealth of new information, and scope for testing hypotheses. On specific topics of particular interest to the community, the Journal accepts collections of 4-6 short articles that form special issues. Studies in Educational Evaluation
Studies in Educational Evaluation publishes high-quality scholarly work that improves knowledge, theory, policy, and practice in educational evaluation and assessment across diverse educational contexts worldwide. The journal provides an international forum for research in the field of educational evaluation. Papers are expected to draw implications for either the evaluation of educational personnel and educational institutions, or for the evaluation of programs and students. Papers presenting results of validation studies without drawing theoretical and/or methodological implications for the field of evaluation, are not under the scope of this journal. A Journal for the Study of Human Settlements Supporting the Building and Social Housing Foundation: www.bshf.orgHabitat International is dedicated to the study of urban and rural human settlements: their planning, design, production and management. Its main focus is on urbanisation in its broadest sense in the developing world. However, increasingly the interrelationships and linkages between cities and towns in the developing and developed worlds are becoming apparent and solutions to the problems that result are urgently required. The economic, social, technological and political systems of the world are intertwined and changes in one region almost always affect other regions. Habitat International welcomes reports of research on urban issues such as policy and implementation, the links between planning, building and land, finance and management, urban design, the interaction between the natural environment and urban areas the provision of urban services and other related problems. Papers on topics which clearly have broad implications and interrelationships based on the experiences of the developing or developed world will be considered. Submissions exploring these issues within the development context are particularly welcomed. Quality papers, short communications, comments on published papers and reports on relevant conferences from all parts of the world are presented as it is recognised that such urban problems arise everywhere. JoHLSTE is designed to have maximum impact through it being available on-line, fully archived and peer-reviewed.JoHLST... is divided into seven sections: Editorial; Academic Papers; Practice Papers, Perspectives, Comments and Rejoinders, Research Notes and Reports and Education Resource Reviews.(1) The Editorial addresses items of contemporary interest on an ad-hoc basis.(2) For the Academic Papers section JoHLSTE invites full-length manuscripts (around 8,000 words) from a variety of disciplines. These papers will be subject to double blind peer review. Subjects covered include the broad areas of knowledge, policy, curriculum, learning and teaching, assessment, resources, employability, careers and quality. Both conceptual and empirical approaches are welcome. Manuscripts may take the form of research papers, case studies, literature reviews, critical evaluations, new methodologies and action research. Purely descriptive accounts are not considered suitable.(3) The Practice Papers section encourages shorter contributions (around 3,000 words) from practicing teachers and others involved in the delivery of education and training including; employers, educational managers, staff developers and library and careers guidance staff. Multiple disciplines and perspectives are required to understand landscapes and align social and ecological values to ensure the sustainability of landscapes. Language Sciences
Language Sciences seeks to provide an outlet for radical and innovative work that enlarges our view of language and languaging. It aspires to be the foremost forum for transdisciplinary research on linguistic behaviour and languaging. We encourage contributions that take a broad view of language and languaging as coordinative, affiliative, and integrational activities that enable human living. Language Sciences is likewise a forum for debates on metatheoretical, epistemological, and axiological issues in the study of language and languaging, broadly conceived. We encourage contributions that challenge the disciplinary boundaries with critical scrutiny of extant theories and methods in the language sciences, and with diversification of the manner in which the object of language studies is conceived and constructed. The vision of Language Sciences is to provide a fertile meeting ground for scholars from a host of disciplines, including (but not limited to) cognitive science, anthropology, biosemiotics, cultural studies, philosophy, psychology, sociology, and ecology.
