Accounting Theory and Practice

The Journal of The Forum For Indian Accounting Research (FFIAR) Accounting Theory and Practice (AT&P) publishes original research in all areas of accounting such as financial accounting, management accounting and control, auditing, taxation. Papers with an accounting or disclosure-related component from related fields such as information economics, capital markets, corporate finance, corporate governance, law, contracting, public policy, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility are also welcome. The primary focus of the journal is on issues related to India and other emerging markets, but it is not restricted to this focus and is open to articles from other settings. It welcomes all methods such as analytical, empirical, historical, content analysis, computational, lab and field experimental, survey, and qualitative field and case study, based on disciplines such as economics, statistics, psychology, and sociology. Consistent with the principles of Responsible Research in Business and Management (www.rrbm.network) the journal aims to serve society through rigorous research on topics of interest to academics as well as practitioners and policy-makers. We believe that this is best done by engaging with phenomena in the Indian and emerging markets contexts. We therefore especially invite research on topics and contexts salient to India and other emerging markets, and their environment. Theories developed or applied in the papers sent for publication should be placed within the context they are investigating. In academic research, rigour comes from engaging with the literature deeply, marshalling the evidence carefully to show that it favours one explanation over other competing ones, and interpreting results cautiously. In contrast to journalistic articles and consulting reports, academic research has a cumulative impact because each piece builds on previous pieces to form a coherent whole. Therefore it is necessary for each paper to explain how it adds to the literature beyond the previous papers. It should not just say that it contributes beyond previous research on those topics; it should also say what a reader would have believed based on the previous literature, and how should the new evidence change that reader's beliefs. In addition to papers that use traditional methods, we welcome interesting descriptive studies which explain the academic implications of the phenomena being described. AT&P encourages data and code sharing through repositories such as the Open Science Framework (OSF), and will recognize publications that are accompanied by data and source code through OSF Badges (https://www.cos.io/initiatives/badges). Types of submissions Most papers published will be original research articles, including field and case studies. The journal will also publish perspective papers that describe institutional details, direct attention to under-researched or new phenomena, or survey the literature to identify future research opportunities. Authors planning to submit perspective articles are encouraged to check with the editors first about the suitability of the topic. Perspective papers will be peer reviewed. Papers are published online with worldwide open access.

Biomass, Biofuels and Bioproducts Algal Research is an international phycology journal covering all areas of emerging technologies in algae biology, biomass production, cultivation, harvesting, extraction, bioproducts, biorefinery, engineering, and econometrics. Algae is defined to include cyanobacteria, microalgae, macroalgae, and protists and symbionts of interest in biotechnology. The journal publishes original research and reviews for the following scope: algal biology, including but not exclusive to: phylogeny, biodiversity, molecular traits, metabolic regulation, and genetic engineering, algal cultivation, e.g. phototrophic systems, heterotrophic systems, and mixotrophic systems, algal harvesting and extraction systems, biotechnology to convert algal biomass and components into biofuels and bioproducts, e.g., nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, animal feed, plastics, etc. algal products and their economic assessment Papers in the latter topics should include characterization and analysis in support of such processes and technologies, for example:approaches to biorefinery and biomass characterization, sustainability assessments and analyses, such as techno-economic, life cycle, and resource assessments of systems and processes using algae as a main source of biomass. The journal will not consider manuscripts where the core concept is the experimental design (RSM, CCD or other) in the opitmization of a process, or the biological activity of algae extracts without full characterization and identification of the compounds responsible for the bioactivity. The Arab Economic and Business Journal results from common and tireless efforts that were undertaken by the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), the Arab Society of Faculties of Business, Economic and Political Sciences (BEPS) and our Arab and International partners, notably the Association of Arab Universities. The journal aims to establish and spread communication among multicultural researchers, for we are truly convinced that science and research are the best tools for a bridge-building among civilizations. The journal focuses on original epistemological, theoretical, and methodological contexts. Our primary concern is to reflect upon, understand, and improve the development of knowledge and therefore implement practices in Arab organizations. AGE publishes rigorous economic, political science and international relations research with clear policy implications for the Asian region and Asia's role in the global economy. Articles must have a firm analytical basis, but their findings must have significant policy relevance for questions facing the Asian countries. Consequently, AGE will publish innovative and timely studies of economic, political and social aspects of relations among Asian countries and their relations with the rest of the world. Analytical or policy-oriented contributions will be welcome from diverse perspectives. AGE will carry mainly empirical articles that have clear policy implications. At times, conceptual papers will be published so long as they apply to concrete policy issues facing Asian countries. AGE will not carry book reviews per se, but will from time to time commission review articles that deal in a substantial way with several important books that touch on the same tropic. Where appropriate, AGE will also publish conference reports.

A Journal of IFAC, the International Federation of Automatic Control Automatica is a leading archival publication in the field of systems and control. The field encompasses today a broad set of areas and topics, and is thriving not only within itself but also in terms of its impact on other fields, such as communications, computers, biology, energy and economics. Since its inception in 1963, Automatica has kept abreast with the evolution of the field over the years, and has emerged as a leading publication driving the trends in the field. After being founded in 1963, Automatica became a journal of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) in 1969. It features a characteristic blend of theoretical and applied papers of archival, lasting value, reporting cutting edge research results by authors across the globe. It features articles in distinct categories, including regular, brief and survey papers, technical communiqués, correspondence items, as well as reviews on published books of interest to the readership. It occasionally publishes special issues on emerging new topics or established mature topics of interest to a broad audience. Automatica solicits original high-quality contributions in all the categories listed above, and in all areas of systems and control interpreted in a broad sense and evolving constantly. They may be submitted directly to a subject editor or to the Editor-in-Chief if not sure about the subject area. A Journal of the World Conference on Transport Research Society Transport policy is a multidisciplinary field where engineering, economics, sociology and law must come together in well-articulated and effective solutions. Despite being a field of effective intervention, most scientific publications address transport policy with a theoretical and often abstract approach, making its understanding difficult for non-senior academics and even more opaque for practitioners. While the merits of case study methods both for undergraduate and graduate teaching are recognised, academics struggle to find empirical material that provides objective and operational illustration of the theories and approaches lectured. This is a major barrier not only in the teaching context but also for practitioners.Case Studies on Transport Policy covers this gap by providing a repository of relevant material to support teaching and transferability of experiences. Observation of field experience highlighting the details and drawbacks of implementation is invaluable to show how Transport Policy can be applied in the operational field, maintaining consistency with strategic options. Teaching with case studies introduces students to challenges they may face in the real world, and provides a very rich learning method for executive training at every institutional level.
