Marine Geoscience and Energy Resources
Marine Geoscience and Energy Resources is an international journal covering marine geoenergy geology with emphasis on the origin and behaviour of all types of basinal fluids (e.g., hydrocarbons, mineralizing fluids, waters) in the context of basin dynamics, from the pore to the basin scale. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for high-quality research on the geology, geophysics and geochemistry of extant and deep-time marine and coastal basins, from continental shelves to deep-marine basins, and the related role of basinal fluids. Marine geohazards and their mitigation, marine geoenergy management, and associated geological risk studies are also welcome. Hence, the journal aims to advance the environmentally sustainable exploration of natural resources in the marine realm, while de-emphasizing the characterisation of oil and gas fields as the primary aim of research. Science advancement in the form of using geological formations for safe storage of various gases to help achieve net-zero carbon goals is particularly encouraged. The editors seek papers that broadly advance understanding of basins and fluids with general applicability, as well as those promoting environmentally sustainable exploration of natural resources in marine or terrestrial basins. Authors should analyse a region’s geological potential alongside sustainable solutions, considering how to make resource development less impactful and exploring broader implications beyond the specific basin. The editors will not consider papers on the following topics:Local case-studies that are basin or prospect specific, with little applicability outside of the study area they refer to.Coal-related research (even when comprising regional basin studies).Drilling and production engineering. The journal is essential reading for geologists, geophysicists and explorationists in academia, government, and industry working in the following areas: marine geology; basin analysis and evaluation; organic geochemistry; reserve/resource estimation; seismic stratigraphy; thermal models of basic evolution; sedimentary geology; continental margins; geophysical interpretation; structural geology/tectonics.Fo... known as Marine and Petroleum Geology, with a 2024 IF of 3.6, and 2022 CiteScore of 7.7.Scope Topics Geology of sustainable resource exploration and management in sedimentary basinsBasin dynamics and fluid (hydrocarbon, porewaters, cementation, hydrothermal/metals) migrationStructural geology and tectonicsSedimentolo... Journal of Luminescence
Journal of Luminescence is an interdisciplinary journal of research on the excited state processes on condensed matter. The journal provides a means of communication between scientists in different disciplines who share a common interest in the electronic excited states of molecular, ionic and covalent systems, whether crystalline, amorphous, or liquid. Submissions in the traditional areas of optical spectroscopy (absorption, magnetic circular dichroism, luminescence, Raman scattering, radiative & non-radiative relaxation) are welcome. Papers on applications (phosphors, scintillators, photochromism, electro- and cathodo-luminescence... radiography, bioimaging, solar energy, energy conversion, etc.) are also welcome if they present results of scientific, rather than only technological interests. The journal publishes topics including but not limited to: exciton and polariton dynamics, dynamics of localized excited states, energy and charge transport in ordered and disordered systems, vibronic interactions in electronic excited states, photophysics and photochemistry in condensed systems, excited state resonance, spin dynamics, hole burning, coherent processes in excited states, multiphoton processes, optical biostability and new techniques for the study of excited states. The journal does not accept submissions containing purely theoretical results not related to excited-state phenomena, reporting new measurements without contribution for understanding excited-state phenomena, or using luminescence spectroscopy to perform merely analytical chemistry or biochemistry procedures. Some exceptions will be possible at the discretion of the editors.- ISSN: 0022-2313

Optical Fiber Technology
Innovations in optical fiber technology are revolutionizing world communications. Newly developed fiber amplifiers allow for direct transmission of high-speed signals over transcontinental distances without the need for electronic regeneration. Optical fibers find new applications in data processing. The impact of fiber materials, devices, and systems on communications in the coming decades will create an abundance of primary literature and the need for up-to-date reviews.Optical Fiber Technology: Materials, Devices, and Systems is a new cutting-edge journal designed to fill a need in this rapidly evolving field for speedy publication of regular length papers. Both theoretical and experimental papers on fiber materials, devices, and system performance evaluation and measurements are eligible, with emphasis on practical applications.Issues and Applications Covered Include:• Optical fiber components • New fiber materials and designs • Fiber lasers and amplifiers • Fiber switching, memory, and signal processing • Modulation format for transmission systems • Fiber nonlinearities and countermeasures • Long-haul transmission systems • Fiber local area networks • Fiber sensors and instrumentationThe journal provides valuable information for engineers and researchers in optical fiber technology, in both industry and academia.- ISSN: 1068-5200
