Optics & Laser Technology aims to provide a vehicle for the publication of a broad range of high quality research and review papers in those fields of scientific and engineering research appertaining to the development and application of the technology of optics and lasers. An International Journal devoted to the Physics and Chemistry of Biological PhenomenaBiophysical Chemistry publishes original work and reviews in the areas of chemistry and physics directly impacting biological phenomena. Quantitative analysis of the properties of biological macromolecules, biologically active molecules, macromolecular assemblies and cell components in terms of kinetics, thermodynamics, spatio-temporal organization, NMR and X-ray structural biology, as well as single-molecule detection represent a major focus of the journal. Theoretical and computational treatments of biomacromolecular systems, macromolecular interactions, regulatory control and systems biology are also of interest to the journal.The journal publishes Regular Articles, Reviews, Short Communications (maximum of 4 printed pages), Discussion and Feature Articles. Feature Articles are normally by Editor's invitation only, but interested authors can contact the Editors before submission. Author(s) will be asked to focus on her/his recent research contributions, thereby adding a personal perspective to their field of research. These short reviews will include the authors' photo and a brief bio/CV and will have a page limit of 5 printed pages in print.Manuscripts that fall outside the scopes and interests of the journal are returned to the Authors without in-depth review. Relevant manuscripts are reviewed expeditiously with decisions generally made within 3 weeks from receipt. Short Communications are 6 printed pages maximum, reporting results of unusual timeliness and significance. Letters are short articles (6 printed pages maximum) reporting results of unusual timeliness and significance. Decisions on Short Communications are made within 1-2 weeks from receipt and publication is offered only to manuscripts requiring minor revision. A paper on a new, naturally occurring polysaccharide should include structural information, defining monosaccharide components and linkage sequence.Papers devoted wholly or partly to X-ray crystallographic studies, or to computational aspects (molecular mechanics or molecular orbital calculations, simulations via molecular dynamics), will be considered if they meet certain criteria. For computational papers the requirements are that the methods used be specified in sufficient detail to permit replication of the results, and that the conclusions be shown to have relevance to experimental observations - the authors' own data or data from the literature. Published by CIRP, The International Academy for Production EngineeringThe CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology (CIRP-JMST) publishes fundamental papers on manufacturing processes, production equipment and automation, product design, manufacturing systems and production organisations up to the level of the production networks, including all the related technical, human and economic factors. Preference is given to contributions describing research results whose feasibility has been demonstrated either in a laboratory or in the industrial praxis. CIRP Members and leading experts are equally encouraged to submit case studies and review papers on specific issues in manufacturing science and technology. The review papers need to be authored by the leading experts with well-established expertise in the field.A typical journal article is authored by the researcher and their supervisor. A paper can also be co-authored with another researcher or institution, but the number of authors typically does not exceed 4-5 people who directly contributed to the research. Others who indirectly contributed (e.g., through editing, conducting experiments, or providing funding) can be acknowledged, but should not be listed as authors.The Journal has been established by CIRP, The International Academy for Production Engineering to meet the needs above. In addition the CIRP has appointed an Editorial Board of Fellows of the Academy which forms a team of highly recognised international experts in the field.The intention is to establish a forum for publishing the best, most innovative research in the field and to this end the journal will publish both in-depth versions of the best papers from CIRP conferences, whilst at the same time, welcoming original contributions from authors worldwide.
