International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Structure, Function and InteractionsThe International Journal of Biological Macromolecules is an established international journal of research into chemical and biological aspects of all natural macromolecules.It presents the latest findings of studies on the molecular structure and properties of proteins, macromolecular carbohydrates, glycoproteins, proteoglycans, lignins, biological poly-acids, and nucleic acids. These findings must be new and novel rather than a repeat of earlier or analogous published work. The scope includes biological activities and interactions, molecular associations, chemical and biological modifications, and functional properties. Papers on related model systems, structural conformational studies, theoretical developments and new analytical techniques are also welcome. All papers are required to focus primarily on at least one named biological macromolecule. This naming should appear in the title, the abstract and the text of the paper.Examples of papers which are not appropriate for International Journal of Biological Macromolecules include: Papers in which the biological macromolecule has not been characterized by modern analytical techniques (including molecular weight) rather than historical methods, e.g. colorimetric assaysPapers that focus on biological, physiological and pharmacological aspects of non-macromolecules attached to, or mixed with, biological macromoleculesPapers on the materials science of biocomposites in which there is no mention of any specific biological macromoleculePapers in which the structure or role of the biological macromolecule is not the major proportion of the studyRoutine studies of extraction of macromolecules without purification and characterization of the extracted moleculeApplications of macromolecules in which the structure of the macromolecule is completely unknownPapers in which the molecular weight of the biological molecule is less than five thousandPapers that are majorly about clinical studies and animal trials, in which a biological macromolecule is not the biologically active agent and/or the biological macromolecule is not the major focus of the studyPapers that focus on genes and genomes with the respective data analysis (including bioinformatics and phylogenetic analyses) without the investigation of the molecular structure of the biological macromolecule and the direct evidence of its biological function

Broad material science and corrosion studies without a focus on naval architecture or offshore engineering are also outside the journal's scope. Furthermore, the journal does not consider studies related to wind turbines unless there is a direct application to offshore engineering (such as offshore wind turbines). Research focusing on the mechanics of robotic devices or wireless power transfer systems also falls outside the journal’s scope.Additionally, Ocean Engineering does not accept submissions focusing solely on military applications. While the journal is currently open to papers on submarine hydrodynamics, it must be ensured that no sensitive or military-related content is included. This includes different embedded system hardware platforms ranging from custom hardware via reconfigurable systems and application specific processors to general purpose embedded processors. Special emphasis is put on novel complex embedded architectures, such as systems on chip (SoC), systems on a programmable/reconfi... chip (SoPC) and multi-processor systems on a chip (MPSoC), as well as, their memory and communication methods and structures, such as network-on-chip (NoC).Design automation of such systems including methodologies, techniques, flows and tools for their design, as well as, novel designs of hardware components fall within the scope of this journal. Novel cyber-physical applications that use embedded systems are also central in this journal. While software is not in the main focus of this journal, methods of hardware/software co-design, as well as, application restructuring and mapping to embedded hardware platforms, that consider interplay between software and hardware components with emphasis on hardware, are also in the journal scope.

The International Journal of Mechanical Sciences (IJMS) is an international forum for the publication and dissemination of original work which contributes to greater scientific understanding of the main disciplines underpinning the mechanical, civil and material engineering sciences.Original contributions providing insight into the use of analytical, computational (e.g. FEM, BEM, mesh-free methods and others) modelling methods for rigid-body mechanics (e.g. dynamics, vibration, stability), structural mechanics, metal forming, behaviour and application of advanced materials (metals, composite, cellular, smart etc.), impact mechanics, strain localization and other effects of nonlinearity (e.g. large deflections, plasticity, fracture etc.), fluid mechanics (external and internal flows), tribology, thermodynamics and materials processing generally form the core of the journal contents.The International Journal of Mechanical Sciences does not accept for publication material which quite specifically belongs with other established specialist journals. Papers whose concern is primarily with mathematical or computational techniques, developed within a general framework and not aimed at any specific engineering application, are not requested. Similarly, papers whose content is purely descriptive or empirical and which do not make any scientific contribution, will not be considered. Comparison with experiments/tests conducted by the authors or others to validate the main contribution of the paper are strongly encouraged, however design-based studies, based on established formulae and methods, are outside our scope and should not be submitted to the International Journal of Mechanical Sciences.Only original, innovative and novel papers will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Mechanical Sciences and before considering their work, authors are required to confirm that their paper has not been submitted to any other journal in English or any other language.
