Statistics & Probability Letters
Statistics & Probability Letters adopts a novel and highly innovative approach to the publication of research findings in statistics and probability. It features concise articles, rapid publication and broad coverage of the statistics and probability literature.Statistic... & Probability Letters is a refereed journal. Articles will be limited to six journal pages (13 double-space typed pages) including references and figures. Apart from the six-page limitation, originality, quality and clarity will be the criteria for choosing the material to be published in Statistics & Probability Letters. Every attempt will be made to provide the first review of a submitted manuscript within three months of submission. The proliferation of literature and long publication delays have made it difficult for researchers and practitioners to keep up with new developments outside of, or even within, their specialization. The aim of Statistics & Probability Letters is to help to alleviate this problem. Concise communications (letters) allow readers to quickly and easily digest large amounts of material and to stay up-to-date with developments in all areas of statistics and probability. The mainstream of Letters will focus on new statistical methods, theoretical results, and innovative applications of statistics and probability to other scientific disciplines. Key results and central ideas must be presented in a clear and concise manner. These results may be part of a larger study that the author will submit at a later time as a full length paper to SPL or to another journal. Theory and methodology may be published with proofs omitted, or only sketched, but only if sufficient support material is provided so that the findings can be verified. Empirical and computational results that are of significant value will be published. We also plan to publish applications and case studies that demonstrate a novel use of existing techniques or have interesting innovative ideas about data collection, modelling or inference.- ISSN: 0167-7152

Mathematical Social Sciences
The international, interdisciplinary journal Mathematical Social Sciences publishes original research articles, survey papers, short notes and book reviews. The journal emphasizes the unity of mathematical modelling in economics, psychology, political sciences, sociology and other social sciences.Topics of particular interest include the fundamental aspects of choice, information, and preferences (decision science) and of interaction (game theory and economic theory), the measurement of utility, welfare and inequality, the formal theories of justice and implementation, voting rules, cooperative games, fair division, cost allocation, bargaining, matching, social networks, and evolutionary and other dynamics models.Papers published by the journal are mathematically rigorous but no bounds, from above or from below, limits their technical level. All mathematical techniques may be used. The articles should be self-contained and readable by social scientists trained in mathematics.- ISSN: 0165-4896

Computer Speech and Language
An official publication of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA)Computer Speech & Language publishes reports of original research related to the analysis, recognition, understanding, production, synthesis, coding and mining of speech and spoken language, including spoken language dialogue systems and speech-based interaction with ‘intelligent’ artefacts, and their wide-ranging applications. The journal provides a focus for this work, and encourages an interdisciplinary approach to speech and spoken language research and technology. Thus contributions from all of the related fields are welcomed in the form of reports of theoretical or experimental studies, reviews, and pertaining to models and their implementation, or reports of fundamental research leading to the improvement of such models.Research Areas IncludeAlgorithms and models for speech recognition and synthesisNatural language processing for speech understanding and generationComputatio... models of spoken language discourse and dialogueSpeech and spoken-language inclusive multimodal approaches and systemsInformation retrieval, extraction and summarization of spoken language mediaSpeaker and spoken language recognitionComputati... models of speech production and perceptionSignal processing for speech analysis, enhancement and transformationEvalua... of speech-based interactive systemsApplications of speech and spoken language technologiesNote that we are no longer accepting submissions devoted to pure Natural Language Processing NLP (i.e. all new manuscripts must address some aspect of spoken language processing).- ISSN: 0885-2308

Discrete Optimization
Discrete Optimization publishes research papers on the mathematical, computational and applied aspects of all areas of integer programming and combinatorial optimization. In addition to reports on mathematical results pertinent to discrete optimization, the journal welcomes submissions on algorithmic developments, and computational experiments. The journal also welcomes clearly-labeled reports on novel real-life applications of discrete optimization that are of broad interest to the scientific community. Papers on applications must provide computational evidence of a successful practical implementation. This is especially important for applications based on heuristics or meta-heuristics. The journal also publishes clearly-labelled surveys, reviews, short notes, and open problems. Manuscripts submitted for possible publication to Discrete Optimization should report on original research or application, should not have been previously published, and should not be under consideration for publication by any other journal.- ISSN: 1572-5286

Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B
The Journal of Combinatorial Theory publishes original mathematical research dealing with theoretical aspects of the study of discrete structures. Series B is concerned primarily with the theory of graphs and hypergraphs as well as matroids, and is a valuable resource for mathematicians and computer scientists. As one of the premier journals in these areas, the journal sets very high standards for publication. Manuscripts accepted by the journal are generally expected to solve or make an important step towards a solution of an open problem, to develop a new proof technique, or to substantially advance our knowledge in some other way.The journal imposes even higher standards for accepting very long papers. The editorial process consists of two phases. In the first phase, the journal seeks general opinions from our editorial board and other experts. Only those papers that obtain favourable recommendations in this phase proceed to the second phase which involves a detailed refereeing process.- ISSN: 0095-8956

Nonlinear Analysis
An International Mathematical JournalNonlinear Analysis aims at publishing high-quality research papers broadly related to the analysis of partial differential equations and their applications. Submissions are encouraged in the areas of expertise of the editorial board.- ISSN: 0362-546X
