Marine Geology
Marine Geology is the journal on marine geological processes in the broadest sense. It seeks papers that are comprehensive, interdisciplinary and synthetic that will be lasting contributions to the field. Papers must demonstrate new findings and their context and significance discussed in terms of the international literature.Marine Geology accepts papers on subjects as diverse as seafloor hydrothermal systems, beach dynamics, early diagenesis, microbiological studies in sediments, palaeoclimate studies and geophysical studies of the seabed. Papers that address emerging new fields, for example the influence of anthropogenic processes on coastal and marine geology are particularly welcomed.The papers should be concerned with the coastal and marine realm in the broad sense and should deal with rocks, sediments, landforms (sedimentology, geomorphology, geoarchaeology, geochemistry), the physical and chemical and biological processes affecting them, and the characteristics and evolution of the processes/mechanisms as revealed by sedimentary archives.Papers should address scientific hypotheses: data compilations, including 'big data' and datasets of global significance, and papers that deal with marine management and risk assessment, sustainability issues, and hydrocarbon reservoir characterisation may be submitted to the journal on the condition that they demonstrate a close and clear relationship between these issues and coastal/marine geological processes and deposits. Papers on laboratory or modelling studies must demonstrate direct relevance to marine processes or deposits. Papers dealing with coastal deposits now on land may be accepted on condition that these deposits show continuity with, and their interpretation is relevant to, coastal and marine processes. Papers dealing with continental deposits that do not correspond to these criteria and must be submitted to other journals. The primary criteria for acceptance of papers include that the science is of high quality, novel, significant, and of broad international interest.

Calphad
The design of industrial processes requires reliable thermodynamic data. CALPHAD (Computer Coupling of Phase Diagrams and Thermochemistry) aims to promote computational thermodynamics through development of models to represent thermodynamic properties for various phases which permit prediction of properties of multicomponent systems from those of binary and ternary subsystems, critical assessment of data and their incorporation into self-consistent databases, development of software to optimize and derive thermodynamic parameters and the development and use of databanks for calculations to improve understanding of various industrial and technological processes. This work is disseminated through the CALPHAD journal and its annual conference. Contributions of high quality in these and related fields, especially the fields of first-principles calculations, experimental measurements of thermochemical and phase equilibrium data, phase transformations, and the process and materials designs that the CALPHAD works are based on or used for, are welcome.Please see our Guide for Authors for information on article submission. An International Journal of Petrology, Mineralogy and GeochemistryLithos publishes original research papers on the petrology, geochemistry and petrogenesis of igneous and metamorphic rocks. Papers on mineralogy/mineral physics related to petrology and petrogenetic problems are also welcomed. Global and Planetary Change
Global and Planetary Change publishes high-quality studies addressing all aspects of Earth System Science. The objective of the journal is to develop a multi-disciplinary understanding of planetary change and to improve knowledge of processes relevant at a global-scale. As such, the journal focuses equally on the geological and historical past as well as present-day and future scenarios based on observational records, experimental studies, and/or modelling. Regional or process-oriented studies are welcome provided that they are useful for understanding aspects of the Earth System.Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, studies of the dynamic Deep Earth and lithosphere to (near-)surface processes; changes in the dynamics and composition of the atmosphere, hydrosphere and cryosphere; climate change, the carbon cycle, and sea level fluctuations; global ecology, biogeography, and extinction; planetary boundaries and ecosystem resilience/threshold... and global change impacts on food security, water resources, and urban sustainability.Key criteria for the consideration of manuscripts include (a) their relevance for the global scientific community and/or (b) their wider implications for global-scale problems, preferably combined with (c) having a significance beyond a single discipline. Manuscripts may be submitted as either original research papers or as authoritative review articles. Precambrian Research publishes studies on all aspects of the early stages of the composition, structure and evolution of the Earth and its planetary neighbours. With a focus on process-oriented and comparative studies, it covers, but is not restricted to, subjects such as:(1) Chemical, biological, biochemical and cosmochemical evolution; the origin of life; the evolution of the oceans and atmosphere; the early fossil record; palaeobiology; (2) Geochronology and isotope and elemental geochemistry; (3) Precambrian mineral deposits; (4) Geophysical aspects of the early Earth and Precambrian terrains; (5) Nature, formation and evolution of the Precambrian lithosphere and mantle including magmatic, depositional, metamorphic and tectonic processes.In addition, the editors particularly welcome integrated process-oriented studies that involve a combination of the above fields and comparative studies that demonstrate the effect of Precambrian evolution on Phanerozoic earth system processes.Regional and localised studies of Precambrian phenomena are considered appropriate only when the detail and quality allow illustration of a wider process, or when significant gaps in basic knowledge of a particular area can be filled.Fairness and impartiality. Chemical Geology incorporates the journal previously known as Isotope Geoscience and is the journal affiliated with the European Association of Geochemistry. Chemical Geology publishes geochemical studies of fundamental and broad significance to enhance the understanding of the Earth and the solar system, focusing on chemical and mineralising processes in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary systems, low- and high-temperature mineral-fluid interactions, biogeochemistry, the environment and cosmochemistry.Paper... that are field, experimentally, or computationally based are appropriate if they are of broad international interest.
