Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews
The aim of the Journal is to provide a forum for the critical analysis of advanced drug and gene delivery systems and their applications in human and veterinary medicine. The Journal has a broad scope, covering the key issues for effective drug and gene delivery, from administration to site-specific delivery.In general, the Journal publishes review articles in a Theme Issue format. Each Theme Issue provides a comprehensive and critical examination of current and emerging research on the design and development of advanced drug and gene delivery systems and their application to experimental and clinical therapeutics. The goal is to illustrate the pivotal role of a multidisciplinary approach to modern drug delivery, encompassing the application of sound biological and physicochemical principles to the engineering of drug delivery systems to meet the therapeutic need at hand. Importantly the Editorial Team of ADDR asks that the authors effectively window the extensive volume of literature, pick the important contributions and explain their importance, produce a forward looking identification of the challenges facing the field and produce a Conclusions section with expert recommendations to address the issues.Articles review the current status of a specific topic, giving equal emphasis to the identification of major conceptual and technological challenges to successful drug and gene delivery, to an evaluation of triumphs as well as shortcomings in current conceptual and technical approaches, and to a discussion of their possible solution.Theme issues are commissioned by one of the Executive Editors or the Editor-in-Chief. The Journal does not publish stand alone manuscripts. If you wish to submit a theme issue topic for consideration, please contact one of the editors.Benefits to authors We also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries
The International Journal of Chemical and Process Plant Safety. The broad scope of the journal is process safety. Process safety is defined as the prevention and mitigation of process-related injuries and damage arising from process incidents involving fire, explosion and toxic release. Such undesired events occur in the process industries during the use, storage, manufacture, handling, and transportation of highly hazardous chemicals. Focus and EmphasisThe focus of the journal is on loss prevention as practiced in the process industries with an emphasis on chemical and process plant safety. This emphasis will be readily identified in manuscripts that make extensive reference to the process safety literature. Regardless of the nature or origin of the manuscript, there must be a clearly defined and explicitly explained original research contribution to the field of process safety.TopicsTopics eligible for consideration by the journal include:Process safety managementProcess safety cultureProcess safety risk assessmentIncident investigationDesign and reliability of protective systemsPlant layout, maintenance and modificationProcess alarm managementEmergency planningTransportati... of hazardous materialsOffshore oil and gas safetyProcess firesGas explosionsDust explosionsDispersion of toxic materialsRunaway reactionsInherently safer designHuman error/human factorsProcess securityProcess security managementProcess security risk assessmentProcess safety decision-making and economic issuesProcess safety education and trainingOther process safety topics not identified in the above listExclusionsTopics excluded from consideration by the journal include:Occupational health and safetySafety in non-process industry sectors such as construction and aviationEnvironmenta... concerns where such issues are the only or primary focus of the researchStudies in the following areas, and in which there is no explicit consideration of the process safety implications of the research:Coal mine safetyFundamental combustion studiesFundamental corrosion studiesGeneral system reliabilityMaintenan... schedule optimizationMaterial characterizationProc... control and monitoringOther non-process safety topics not identified in the above list- ISSN: 0957-5820
Process Safety and Environmental Protection
Publication of the Institution of Chemical Engineers Official Journal of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering: Part BPSEP aims to be the principal international journal for publication of high quality, original papers in the branches of engineering concerned with the safety of industrial processes and the protection of the environment.Papers that deal with new developments in safety or environmental aspects, demonstrating how research results can be used in process engineering design and practice, are particularly encouraged. Experimental or theoretical research work bringing new perspectives to established principles, highlighting unsolved problems or indicating directions for future research will also be considered. The journal is especially interested in contributions that extend the boundaries of traditional engineering as well as in multidisciplinary papers.Papers related to environmental protection must take an integrated pollution control approach, demonstrating clearly that any proposed treatment method does not simply transfer pollution from one environmental medium to another, for example, from air to water or from water to solid waste. All such papers must discuss how any treatment effluents, spent adsorbents, etc., can be treated or disposed of safely, avoiding transfer of pollution to another environmental medium.For environmental protection, papers that are outside the scope are those that lack engineering aspects, including those that:use experimental techniques primarily to prepare and/or characterise various materials without considerations of process engineering design and practice;present primarily laboratory experiments of the effects of different parameters on behaviour of materials and pollutants (e.g. pH, temperature, mass of adsorbent, etc.) without further insights into the implications for engineering design and practice;focus primarily on adsorption models and curve fitting (e.g. Freundlich, Langmuir etc.);
