Food Research International
Food Research International provides a forum for the rapid dissemination of significant novel and high impact research in food science, technology, engineering and nutrition. The journal only publishes novel, high quality and high impact review papers, original research papers and letters to the editors, in the various disciplines encompassing the science and technology of food. It is journal policy to publish special issues on topical and emergent subjects of food research or food research-related areas. Special issues of selected, peer-reviewed papers from scientific meetings, workshops, conferences on the science, technology and engineering of foods will be also published.Food Research International is the successor to the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology Journal. Building on the quality and strengths of its predecessor, Food Research International has been developed to create a truly international forum for the communication of research in food science.Topics covered by the journal include: food chemistryfood microbiology and safetymicrobiomefood toxicologymaterials science of foodsfood engineeringphysical properties of foodssensory sciencefood qualityhealth and nutritionfood biophysics analysis of foodsfood nanotechnologyemergi... technologiesSubjects that will not be considered for publication in Food Research International, and will be rejected as being outside of scope, include : Studies testing different formulations and ingredients leading to the choice of the best formulation or ingredient to be used in the manufacture of a specified food;Optimization studies aiming to determine processing conditions and/or raw materials that increase the yield of a production process or improve nutritional and sensorial qualities;Studies describing the production of ingredients and only their characterization without a strong mechanistic emphasis;Studies describing the biological activity of foods lacking identification of the compounds responsible for the reported activity will not be published. Cell Host & Microbe
Cell Host & Microbe was launched in March 2007. The journal's mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and concepts between scientists studying the microbe with those studying the host immune, cell biological, and molecular response upon colonization or infection by a microbe.Cell Host & Microbe will publish novel findings related to microbes (which includes bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses) from molecular and cellular biology to translational studies with particular emphasis on the interface between the microbe and its host (vertebrate, invertebrate, or plant; unicellular or multicellular). The unifying theme is the integrated study of microbes (pathogenic, non-pathogenic, and commensal) in conjunction and communication with each other, their host, and the cellular environment they inhabit. Work published in Cell Host & Microbe is expected not only to be of exceptional significance within its field, but also of interest to researchers outside the immediate area. In addition to primary research manuscripts, Cell Host & Microbe will publish expert analysis, commentary, and reviews on topics of current interest in the field.Topics covered include Molecular and cell biology of microbes, Microbial pathogenesis, Host cellular and immune response to microbes, Immune evasion, Therapeutics, Evolution, epidemiology, and natural history of microbes, Vaccine design, development and trials, Emerging pathogensVisit the Cell Press website for more information about Cell Host & Microbe http://www.cell.com/...

CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology
Published by CIRP, The International Academy for Production EngineeringThe CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology (CIRP-JMST) publishes fundamental papers on manufacturing processes, production equipment and automation, product design, manufacturing systems and production organisations up to the level of the production networks, including all the related technical, human and economic factors. Preference is given to contributions describing research results whose feasibility has been demonstrated either in a laboratory or in the industrial praxis. CIRP Members and leading experts are equally encouraged to submit case studies and review papers on specific issues in manufacturing science and technology. The review papers need to be authored by the leading experts with well-established expertise in the field.A typical journal article is authored by the researcher and their supervisor. A paper can also be co-authored with another researcher or institution, but the number of authors typically does not exceed 4-5 people who directly contributed to the research. Others who indirectly contributed (e.g., through editing, conducting experiments, or providing funding) can be acknowledged, but should not be listed as authors. The Journal has been established by CIRP, The International Academy for Production Engineering to meet the needs above. In addition the CIRP has appointed an Editorial Board of Fellows of the Academy which forms a team of highly recognised international experts in the field. The intention is to establish a forum for publishing the best, most innovative research in the field and to this end the journal will publish both in-depth versions of the best papers from CIRP conferences, whilst at the same time, welcoming original contributions from authors worldwide. The main goal is to contribute to the further development of the Science and Technology of Manufacturing which is of fundamental importance for the future. list.
