Neuromuscular Disorders is the official Journal of the World Muscle Society an international, multidisciplinary, scientific society, dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of neuromuscular disorders. The journal is a platform for clinical academics and scientists to publish their research results from studies on neuromuscular diseases including acquired and hereditary diseases that affect the muscle, the neuromuscular junction or the lower motor neuron. The research articles may include clinical aspects, such as new clinical entities, progress in diagnostics, treatment and management or research on cell or animal models of relevance to the clinical conditions.Review articles by renowned clinical academics or scientists on the topics mentioned above are welcome. Review articles by uncredited contributors will not be accepted.Reports from international workshops may be considered especially when they include consensus on guidelines regarding diagnostics, nomenclature, treatment outcome measures or other research strategies of general international interest.Case reports will only be considered if they provide an in-depth analysis of specific neuromuscular disorders that could serve as exemplary models for future research in the field. Reports on new mutations in already known genes or combinations of pathologies in the same individual will not be accepted unless they offer new insights of broader significance.Socio-e... studies and survey reports based on non-validated questionnaires will usually not be considered.

    • Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution

      • ISSN: 1055-7903
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution is dedicated to bringing Darwin's dream within grasp - to "have fairly true genealogical trees of each great kingdom of Nature." The journal provides a forum for molecular studies that advance our understanding of phylogeny and evolution, further the development of phylogenetically more accurate taxonomic classifications, and ultimately bring a unified classification for all the ramifying lines of life. The journal encourages articles that are multidisciplinary, especially in areas, such as bioinformatics, computational biology, molecular biology, and organismic biology, that are of interest to the community of systematic and evolutionary biologists. In addition, presentations of new findings on or insights into evolutionary processes and mechanisms as expressed at the molecular level are welcome, as are those that deal with the methodology of reconstructing evolutionary history from molecular data (such as descriptions of new or more powerful computer algorithms for constructing phylogenetic trees from orthologous nucleotide or aminoacid sequences). A deeper understanding of the mechanisms and processes of molecular evolution should lead to more accurate models of molecular evolution, which in turn should facilitate the development of better algorithms for reconstructing evolutionary history from sequence data.Papers based on few taxa and single molecular markers (for example, including only mitochondrial or chloroplast genes or genomes) will not be considered for publication. Papers based on a few molecular markers obtained by legacy PCR-Sanger or other methods, although acceptable in principle, will receive low priority or will be considered only in exceptional cases. Well into the genomics-era, MPE aspires to publish phylogenies based on genome-wide datasets obtained by next-gen approaches. Multi-locus datasets which attempt to provide signal from across the genome are a minimum requirement.Benefits to authors We also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. • Cognitive Psychology

      • ISSN: 0010-0285
Cognitive Psychology publishes articles that make important theoretical contributions in any area of cognition, including memory, attention, perception, language processing, categorization, thinking, and reasoning. The development and decline of cognitive processes as a function of maturation and aging are also relevant topics. Cognitive Psychology specializes in longer, more integrative articles that have a major impact on theories of cognition. We welcome submissions that use modeling or neuroscientific approaches, literature reviews, or incisive experiments to provide a substantial theoretical advance. Authors are strongly encouraged to use open science practices and should be prepared to share their data, model code, and analysis scripts.
    • Brain and Cognition

      • ISSN: 0278-2626
Brain and Cognition is a forum for the integration of the neurosciences and cognitive sciences. B&C publishes peer-reviewed research articles, theoretical papers, case histories that address important theoretical issues, and historical articles into the interaction between cognitive function and brain processes. The focus is on rigorous studies of an empirical or theoretical nature and which make an original contribution to our knowledge about the involvement of the nervous system in cognition. Coverage includes, but is not limited to memory, learning, decision making, emotion, perception, movement, music or praxis in relationship to brain structure, function or development. Scholarly articles on environmental influences—social, physical, catastrophic—on aspects of brain and cognition are also welcome.Published articles will typically address issues relating some aspect of cognitive function to its neurological substrates with clear theoretical import, formulating new hypotheses or refuting previously established ones. Clinical papers are welcome if they raise issues of theoretical importance or concern and shed light on the interaction between brain function and cognitive function. We welcome review articles that clearly contribute a new perspective or integration, beyond summarizing the literature in the field; authors of review articles should make explicit where the contribution lies. We also welcome proposals for special issues on aspects of the relation between cognition and the structure and function of the nervous system. Such proposals can be made directly to the Editor-in-Chief from individuals interested in being guest editors for such collections.
