Journal of the International Society for Burn InjuriesBurns aims to foster the exchange of information among all engaged in preventing and treating the effects of burns. Journal of Investigative Dermatology
The Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID) publishes high impact reports describing original research related to all aspects of cutaneous biology and skin disease. Descriptions of important findings that result from basic, translational, or clinical research are appropriate for submission. Clinical research can include, but is not limited to, interventional trials, genetic studies, epidemiology, and health services research. The JID places a high priority on publication of new insights into basic cutaneous biology, disease pathogenesis, and treatment. Reports that describe a new methodology, technique, or tool in combination with mechanistic insights into the problem that is being investigated are encouraged. It is possible that occasional descriptions of novel technology, methodology, or resources that are of special interest or utility to JID readers could be competitive for publication, even in the absence of new mechanistic insights. Reports describing novel variants in known genes with no new mechanistic data will not be reviewed. Case reports or case series, unless they provide new biologic insights, are rarely appropriate for submission. Purely hypothesis generating clinical research such as analysis of case reports, pharmacovigilance reports (for example, analyses of FAERS), unless truly novel, or accompanied with hypothesis testing approaches (e.g., cohort, case-control, clinical trial, and/or mechanistic laboratory studies) are not within the JID Scope. Clinical research using administrative claims or electronic medical record data (for example, TriNetX) should have evidence that the codes validly represent the variables being studied and that the data are complete enough to yield valid inferences.Standard features of the Journal include Original Articles, Review Articles, and Letters to the Editor. Perspectives and Commentaries are invited by the Editorial Board. All articles are peer reviewed prior to acceptance and publication, and some invited articles may ultimately not be accepted for publication. Blood, the flagship journal of the American Society of Hematology, published online and in print, provides an international forum for the publication of original articles describing basic laboratory, translational, and clinical investigations in hematology. Acceptance of manuscripts is based on the originality and importance of the observations or investigations, the quality of the work and validity of the evidence, the clarity of presentation, and the relevance to our readership and field. All articles are expected to be concise, well-organized and clearly written. Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports
Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports, a companion title to the established Veterinary Parasitology, focuses on topics of regional concern. These are especially important in this era of climate change and the rapid and often unconstrained travel of people and animals. Relative to regions, this journal will accept papers of the highest quality dealing with all aspects of disease prevention, pathology, treatment, epidemiology, and control of parasites within the field of veterinary medicine. Also, case reports will be considered as they add to information related to local disease and its control; such papers must be concise and represent appropriate medical intervention.Papers on veterinary parasitology from wildlife species are acceptable, but only if they relate to the practice of veterinary medicine. Studies on vector-borne bacterial and viral agents are suitable, but only if the paper deals with vector transmission of these organisms to domesticated animals.Studies dealing with parasite control by means of natural products, both in vivo and in vitro, are more suited for one of the many journals that now specialize in papers of this type. Human Movement Science
The journal is devoted to pure and applied research related to the science of human movement. It provides a medium for publishing disciplinary and multidisciplinary studies on human movement. It brings together psychological, biomechanical and neurophysiological research on the control, organization and learning of human movement, including the perceptual support of movement. The journal also encourages submissions from the fields of sport and exercise science and kinesiology provided that the work expands knowledge and understanding of human movement. This can include articles that focus on performance analyses, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. The overarching goal of the journal is to publish articles that help advance theoretical understanding of the control and organization of human movement, as well as changes therein as a function of development, learning, and rehabilitation. The nature of the research reported may vary from fundamental theoretical or empirical studies to more applied studies in the fields of, for example, sport, dance and rehabilitation with the proviso that all studies have a distinct theoretical bearing. The journal is less keen on work that is descriptive in nature or that has limited generalizability outside a specific population pool or sample. Also, we consider both systematic and meta-analytical reviews of human movement. Narrative reviews are by invitation only and are generally reserved for established scholars; please contact the Editor-in-Chief or the relevant Section Editor for a discussion.These aims and scope imply that purely descriptive studies are not acceptable, while methodological articles are only acceptable if the methodology in question can have a significant impact on the development of new directions in understanding the control and organization of human movement. The same holds for articles on exercise physiology, which in general are not supported, unless they speak to the control and organization of human movement. In general, it is required that the theoretical message of articles published in Human Movement Science is, to a certain extent, innovative and not dismissible as just "more of the same."Human Movement Science will consider hypothesis-driven analyses and exploratory analyses for which the need for exploration can be motivated; the exploratory nature of any such analysis should be clearly stated. In line with its commitment to publishing methodologically sound studies, Human Movement Science now offers the possibility to publish high-powered hypothesis driven research and high-impact replications as Registered Reports. Through pre- registration of hypotheses and methodology and results-independent editorial decisions, this article type neutralizes many questionable research practices incentivised by today's publish-or-perish pressures.In addition to regular issues, special issues addressing a single theme or topic will be published. The journal has now appointed a dedicated Section Editor to focus on special issues and invited reviews. The journal will look to publish 1-2 special issues per annum. In case of special issues, the above criteria may be softened if the guest editor(s) is (are) of the opinion that this will further the insight into the theme of the special issue in question. Contributions from the entire range of disciplines that comprise the neurosciences, behavioural sciences or cognitive sciences are appropriate, as long as the goal is to delineate the neural mechanisms underlying behaviour. Thus, studies may range from neurophysiological, neuroanatomical, neurochemical or neuropharmacological analysis of brain-behaviour relations, including the use of molecular genetic or behavioural genetic approaches, to studies that involve the use of brain imaging techniques, to neuroethological studies. The journal considers research in a wide variety of species including invertebrates, vertebrates, and humans. Reports of original research, of major methodological advances, or of novel conceptual approaches are all encouraged. Neurobiology of Aging publishes the results of studies in behavior, biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, morphology, neurology, neuropathology, pharmacology, physiology and protein chemistry in which the primary emphasis involves mechanisms of nervous system changes with age or diseases associated with age. Reviews and primary research articles are included, occasionally accompanied by open peer commentary. Letters to the Editor and brief communications are also acceptable. Brief reports of highly time-sensitive material are usually treated as rapid communications in which case editorial review is completed within six weeks and publication scheduled for the next available issue.
