Biological Psychology publishes original scientific papers on neural, endocrine, immune, and other physiological aspects of psychological states and processes. Such aspects include assessments by biochemistry, electrophysiology, and neuroimaging during psychological experiments as well as biologically induced changes in psychological function. Psychological investigations based on biological theories are also of interest. All aspects of psychological functioning, including psychopathology, are germane.The Journal is focused on work with human individuals, but may consider work with animals, if conceptually related to issues in human biological psychology. The Journal welcomes work that spans disciplines and methods and recruits an editorial team that is especially suited for handling such manuscripts. Empirical reports are the core of the Journal, but methodological and theoretical reports relevant to biological psychology are encouraged (see list of article types for more information). A Journal Devoted to Pure and Applied Research on Human MovementHuman Movement Science provides a medium for publishing disciplinary and multidisciplinary studies on human movement. It brings together psychological, biomechanical and neurophysiological research on the control, organization and learning of human movement, including the perceptual support of movement. The overarching goal of the journal is to publish articles that help advance theoretical understanding of the control and organization of human movement, as well as changes therein as a function of development, learning and rehabilitation. The nature of the research reported may vary from fundamental theoretical or empirical studies to more applied studies in the fields of, for example, sport, dance and rehabilitation with the proviso that all studies have a distinct theoretical bearing. Also, we consider both systematic and met-analytical reviews of human movement. Narrative reviews are by invitation only.These aims and scope imply that purely descriptive studies are not acceptable, while methodological articles are only acceptable if the methodology in question opens up new vistas in understanding the control and organization of human movement. The same holds for articles on exercise physiology, which in general are not supported, unless they speak to the control and organization of human movement. In general, it is required that the theoretical message of articles published in Human Movement Science is, to a certain extent, innovative and not dismissible as just "more of the same."Human Movement Science will consider hypothesis-driven analyses and exploratory analyses for which the need for exploration can be motivated; the exploratory nature of any such analysis should be clearly stated. In line with its commitment to publishing methodologically sound studies, Human Movement Science now offers the possibility to publish high-powered hypothesis driven research and high-impact replications as Registered Reports. Through pre registration of hypotheses and methodology and results-independent editorial decisions, this article type neutralizes many questionable research practices incentivised by today's publish-or-perish pressures.In addition to regular issues, special issues addressing a single theme will be published. In case of special issues the above criteria may be softened if the guest editor(s) is (are) of the opinion that this will further the insight into the theme of the special issue in question. Performance Enhancement & Health is a multi-disciplinary, international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes research on the enhancement of human functioning and health. Reflecting its multi-disciplinary scope, PEH publishes research that investigates performance enhancement and health through the lens of social sciences and humanities. PEH strives to cover different facets of performance enhancement, such as productivity, identity, social capital, and/or human functioning. PEH adopts a biopsychosocial approach to health. In turn, contributions may cover physical, mental, and/or social aspects of health.Performance Enhancement & Health welcomes papers, in English, on topics including, but not restricted to, the following:• Human enhancement drugs, novel psychoactive substances, traditional drugs, doping, pharmaceuticals and supplements • Sport, exercise and fitness • Drugs policy, anti-doping policy, harm reduction, and drug prevention, education and treatment • Athletes' health and wellbeing • Body shape and image, and bodily functions • Workplace and school performance • Quality of life, (anti-)aging, and lifestyle • Fatigue and injury prevention • Self-regulation of performance and human functioningPlease be aware that manuscripts only focused on pure sport science fall outside the scope of this journal. We will only consider these types of manuscripts (quantitative and/or qualitative) if they are also related to health. The same applies to other manuscripts that do not relate their focus to performance enhancement and/or health. The series address major topics of sleep medicine, e.g. sleep related breathing disturbances, insomnia, new technologies in sleep medicine etc.).
