Soil Biology & Biochemistry
AIMS Soil Biology & Biochemistry publishes original, scientifically challenging research articles of international significance that describe and provide insight into biological processes occurring in soil. These include the possible applications of such knowledge to issues of soil and environmental quality - insofar as such studies inform our understanding of the role of soil biology and biochemistry in mediating soil functions, agricultural sustainability and ecosystem services. The ecology and biochemical processes of soil organisms, their effects on the environment and their interactions with plants are major topics. The applications of new molecular, microscopic and analytical techniques to understanding and explaining population and community dynamics is of great interest. The journal also publishes state-of-the-art reviews of contemporary research that present significant and novel hypotheses, as well as comments and arguments about specific and often controversial aspects of life in the soil.SCOPE The scope of Soil Biology & Biochemistry publishes scientific research articles of international significance which describe and explain fundamental biological and biochemical features and processes occurring in soil systems.The emphasis is on original research which substantively advances or directs our understanding of the mechanistic basis of how soils function. The Journal of Crystal Growth offers a common reference and publication source for workers engaged in research on the experimental and theoretical aspects of crystal growth and its applications, e.g. in devices. The Nuclear Data Sheets are current and are published monthly. They are devoted to compilation and evaluations of experimental and theoretical results in Nuclear Physics. The journal is mostly produced from Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF), a computer file maintained by the US National Nuclear Data Center http://www.nndc.bnl.... This journal publishes articles in English in all branches of mathematics under the headings “Survey Articles”, "Main Research Articles" and "Short Research Notes".Survey articles - are expositions on contemporary mathematical research written in a way that a research student or a mathematician who may not be an expert on the topic can read them profitably. Authored by leading experts, survey articles should offer a well-organized, critical and in-depth overview of a specific research area. There is no page limit for survey articles.Main research articles - must contain significant new results, provide enough background information on the research topic and make high-level research accessible to a broad audience. Main research articles are expected to have at least fifteen pages.Short research notes - may present high-quality research on specialized topics, even if the scope is narrower or the level slightly more advanced. Short research notes should not exceed ten pages in length.Clarity of exposition, accuracy of the details, quality of research results, and the relevance and interest of the subject matter will be the decisive factors in our acceptance for publication of an article.

Astronomy and Computing is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on the broad area between astronomy, computer science, software development and information technology. The journal aims to publish the work of scientists and (software) engineers in all aspects of astronomical computing, including the collection, analysis, reduction, visualisation, preservation and dissemination of data, and the development of astronomical software and simulations. The journal covers applications of computer science techniques to astronomy, as well as novel applications of information technologies within astronomy.The journal is open to a broad range of contributions about the use of computing in astronomy. It encourages unsolicited submissions of regular scientific articles, of manuscripts on new software releases and data releases of astronomical surveys, and of "reports on practice" which describe the outcomes (positive and negative) of the practical application of informatics techniques within astronomy research and operations. Authors wishing instead to submit review articles, white papers and target articles, as well as ideas for special issues of the journal are expected to first contact members of the Editorial Board.Submissions are expected to cover research topics dealing with computer applications dedicated to astronomy and astrophysics. E.g. manuscripts describing purely computer science or engineering research, or theoretical manuscripts with no connection to computational astrophysics will not be considered for publication.In general, manuscripts should make a valuable contribution to the field and should display an appropriate familiarity with previous work in the area and alternative approaches to the same problem. Physics of Life Reviews is an international journal appearing quarterly, that publishes review articles on physics of living systems, complex phenomena in biological systems, and related fields of artificial life, robotics, mathematical bio-semiotics, and artificial intelligent systems. This journal is a unifying force, going across the barriers between disciplines, addressing all living systems from molecules to populations and from genetics to mind and artificial systems modeling these phenomena. Physics Reports
A Review Section of Physics LettersThe journal Physics Reports publishes timely reviews which are more extensive than just literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph. Each report deals with one specific subject and is generally published in a separate volume. These reviews are specialist in nature but contain enough introductory material to make the main points intelligible to a non-specialist. The reader will not only be able to distinguish important developments and trends in physics but will also find a sufficient number of references to the original literature.Starting in 2025, Physics Reports will inaugurate a new "Rapid Reviews” section. Rapid Reviews are intended to be shorter reviews, which can be completed more quickly (on order three months) than regular reviews, on exciting new subjects. They are intended to reach a broader audience but go into less technical detail than a regular Physics Reports review. The target length is on order 20 pages (as opposed to regular reviews, which are intended to be more than 50 journal pages) and the reviews are intended to allow more in the way of editorializing than regular articles, which are intended to be more balanced, complete, and pedagogical.
