European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry

  • ISSN: 0223-5234
  • 5 Year impact factor: 6.1
  • Impact factor: 6
EJMECH (The European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry) is a global journal that publishes studies on the main aspects of medicinal chemistry. It provides a medium for publication of original research papers and it welcomes critical review papers.A typical paper would report on the design (with or without the support of computational methods), organic synthesis, characterization and biochemical/pharmacological evaluation of novel, potent compounds preferentially with a clear (or proven) mechanism of action and/or target. Other topics of interest are molecular aspects of drug metabolism, prodrug synthesis and drug targeting. The journal expects manuscripts to present a clear rational for a study, provide insight into the strategy and design of compounds and into the mechanism of action, and biological targets. Manuscripts reporting only computational studies are out-of-scope unless a new method (broadly applicable, validated and available to the community) is reported. Authors are kindly invited to look to published articles for the scope of the journal and the organisation of papers.

Expert Systems with Applications

  • ISSN: 0957-4174
  • 5 Year impact factor: 7.6
  • Impact factor: 7.5
Expert Systems With Applications is a refereed international journal whose focus is on exchanging information relating to expert and intelligent systems applied in industry, government, and universities worldwide. The thrust of the journal is to publish original papers dealing with the design, development, testing, implementation, and/or management of expert and intelligent systems, and also to provide practical guidelines in the development and management of these systems. The journal will publish papers in expert and intelligent systems technology and application in the areas of, but not limited to: finance, accounting, engineering, marketing, auditing, law, procurement and contracting, project management, risk assessment, information management, information retrieval, crisis management, stock trading, strategic management, network management, telecommunications, space education, intelligent front ends, intelligent database management systems, medicine, chemistry, human resources management, human capital, business, production management, archaeology, economics and energy. Papers in multi-agent systems, knowledge management, neural networks, knowledge discovery, data and text mining, multimedia mining, and genetic algorithms will also be published in the journal. The journal no longer considers papers that contain applications to military/defense systems.Papers detailing algorithms which repurpose existing concepts within the framework of metaphors inspired by various systems and processes, such as natural, technical, or social ones are discouraged as this can hinder effective algorithm comparisons and scientific advancement. Submissions from this field are required to convincingly demonstrate their contribution to the field in order to be considered for further evaluation. Authors are urged to present their methods with clarity, employing standard optimization terminology, and to provide compelling explanations for how their components are adapted to specific problem-solving contexts. The emphasis is on genuine innovation rather than the renaming of existing concepts.Natural metaphor articles - new nature-inspired proposals detailed in papers must provide formal, mathematically grounded explanations for how they differ from established methods and the use of metaphors as superficial embellishments is discouraged.Software PublicationWe invite you to convert your open source software into an additional journal publication in Software Impacts, a multi-disciplinary open access journal. Software Impacts provides a scholarly reference to software that has been used to address a research challenge. The journal disseminates impactful and re-usable scientific software through Original Software Publications which describe the application of the software to research and the published outputs.

Expositiones Mathematicae

  • ISSN: 0723-0869
  • 5 Year impact factor: 0.9
  • Impact factor: 0.8
This journal publishes articles in English, French or German in all branches of mathematics under the headings “Survey Articles”, "Main Research Articles" and "Short Research Notes". Survey articles - are expositions on contemporary mathematical research written in a way that a research student or a mathematician who may not be an expert on the topic can read them profitably. There is no page limit for survey articles.Main research articles - must contain significant new results, provide enough background information on the research topic and make high level research accessible to a broad audience. Main research articles are expected to have at least fifteen pages. Short research notes - can be slightly higher-level research on a specialized topic and are expected to contain ten or fewer pages. Clarity of exposition, accuracy of the details, quality of research results, and the relevance and interest of the subject matter will be the decisive factors in our acceptance for publication of an article.

Finite Elements in Analysis and Design

  • ISSN: 0168-874X
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.3
  • Impact factor: 3.5
An International Journal for Innovations in Computational Methodology and ApplicationThe aim of this journal is to provide ideas and information involving the use of the finite element method and its variants, both in scientific inquiry and in professional practice. The scope is intentionally broad, encompassing use of the finite element method in engineering as well as the pure and applied sciences. The emphasis of the journal will be the development and use of numerical procedures to solve practical problems, although contributions relating to the mathematical and theoretical foundations and computer implementation of numerical methods are likewise welcomed. Review articles presenting unbiased and comprehensive reviews of state-of-the-art topics will also be accommodated. All submissions to FINEL will be peer reviewed, and must have archival value to be suitable for publication. Reflecting the aforementioned emphasis on solution of practical problems, numerical demonstration of proposed methodologies will generally be considered a necessary ingredient for papers appearing in FINEL. Conversely, applications of existing finite element techniques to widely studied problems will typically not be favorably considered for publication, except where such presentations are particularly novel or enlightening, either with respect to the results obtained or the method of application used. The journal encompasses any field where numerical solution procedures for initial/boundary value problems are needed to meet design and analysis needs. Although the following list is not exhaustive, contributions are sought in structural mechanics, geomechanics, mechanical engineering, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, thermal sciences, hydrology, chemical engineering, biomechanics, electrical engineering, aero/astro engineering, and environmental engineering and science. In addition to contributions focused directly on numerical methodologies, submissions dealing with computer-aided engineering methods, parallel computing, optimal design strategies, mesh generation and post processing, code validation, experimental verification, and visualization are also solicited.Related Conferences will be found via the links on the right menu bar under 'Related websites'.
