  • Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials

    • ISSN: 0960-8974
"Who dominates materials dominates technology" Dr. Tadahiro SekimotoMaterials especially crystalline materials provide the foundation of our modern technologically driven world. The domination of materials is achieved through detailed scientific research.Advances in the techniques of growing and assessing ever more perfect crystals of a wide range of materials lie at the roots of much of today's advanced technology. The evolution and development of crystalline materials involves research by dedicated scientists in academia as well as industry involving a broad field of disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, material sciences and engineering. Crucially important applications in information technology, photonics, energy storage and harvesting, environmental protection, medicine and food production require a deep understanding of and control of crystal growth. This can involve suitable growth methods and material characterization from the bulk down to the nano-scale.The knowledge gained requires authentication by publication and peer review. Since the literature is expanding faster than almost any other comparable field of science, it has become increasingly important for the scientific community to fill the need for communication and rapid publication of review articles and conference reports in order to keep abreast of developments in this field. Besides allowing a fast extraction of the available literature and giving state-of the art overviews, the reviews are to inspire scientists across the disciplines and to stimulate "blue-sky thinking".Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials is the only review journal on crystal growth and material assessment including novel applications as well as growth and characterization methods, and acts as a rapid publication medium for review articles and conference reports in the field. Emphasis on practical developments and problems ensures its importance also for scientists in industry.Progress in Crystal Growth and Characterization of Materials is a review journal. It doesn't publish research articles. If you wish to submit a research article, the Journal of Crystal Growth would be honored to consider the submission.
  • International Journal of Production Economics

    • ISSN: 0925-5273
The International Journal of Production Economics focuses on topics treating the interface between engineering and management. All aspects of the subject in relation to manufacturing and process industries, as well as production in general are covered. The journal is interdisciplinary in nature, considering whole cycles of activities, such as the product life cycle - research, design, development, test, launch, disposal - and the material flow cycle - supply, production, distribution. The ultimate objective of the journal is to disseminate knowledge for improving industrial practice and to strengthen the theoretical base necessary for supporting sound decision making. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and the presentation of new developments in theory and application, wherever engineering and technology meet the managerial and economic environment in which industry operates. In character, the journal combines the high standards of a traditional academic approach with the practical value of industrial applications.Article... accepted need to be based on rigorous sound theory and contain an essential novel scientific contribution. Tracing economic and financial consequences in the analysis of the problem and solution reported, belongs to the central theme of the journal. Submissions should strictly follow the Guide for Authors of the journal. We are interested in publishing high quality survey and review papers in relevant domains. However, we stress that the hurdles for consideration of such papers are high. They must demonstrate a strong need, show that they are well-executed, and generate valuable insights. Survey and review papers must position themselves clearly in relation to existing related reviews and surveys in the field. Systematic reviews that merely describe publication patterns in a particular field are unlikely to be sent out for review for IJPE. All survey and review papers must show valuable critique of the field and new insights. Such papers will normally require author(s) with sufficient experience in the field to make appropriate judgements.
  • Pedobiologia

    • ISSN: 0031-4056
Pedobiologia (Journal of Soil Ecology) publishes peer reviewed articles describing original work in the field of soil ecology, which includes the study of soil organisms and their interactions with factors in their biotic and abiotic environments. Analysis of biological structures, interactions, functions, and processes in soil is fundamental for understanding the dynamical nature of terrestrial ecosystems, a prerequisite for appropriate soil management. The scope of this journal consists of fundamental and applied aspects of soil ecology; key focal points include interactions among organisms in soil, organismal controls on soil processes, causes and consequences of soil biodiversity, and aboveground-belowgro... interactions. The journal publishes:original research that tests clearly defined hypotheses addressing topics of current interest in soil ecology (including studies demonstrating nonsignificant effects);description... of novel methodological approaches, or evaluations of current approaches, that address a clear need in soil ecology research;innovative syntheses of the soil ecology literature, including metaanalyses, topical in depth reviews and short opinion/perspective pieces, and descriptions of original conceptual frameworks; andshort notes reporting novel observations of ecological significance.
