Broad material science and corrosion studies without a focus on naval architecture or offshore engineering are also outside the journal's scope. Furthermore, the journal does not consider studies related to wind turbines unless there is a direct application to offshore engineering (such as offshore wind turbines). Research focusing on the mechanics of robotic devices or wireless power transfer systems also falls outside the journal’s scope.Additionally, Ocean Engineering does not accept submissions focusing solely on military applications. While the journal is currently open to papers on submarine hydrodynamics, it must be ensured that no sensitive or military-related content is included. Climate change and conservation of energy requires an efficient combustion of fossil fuels and as importantly, emerging sustainable energy systems beyond combustion. The protection of the environment demands a limitation of the pollutants, including greenhouse gases, emitted from combustion and other energy-intensive systems. Combustion also plays an important role in process technology and materials science.Progress in Energy and Combustion Science contains articles by internationally recognized authors in the fields of combustion, flames, fuel science and technology, and a wide range of sustainable energy solutions. Each volume contains a number of specially commissioned review articles that provide the reader with an orderly and concise survey and scientific discussion of a particular aspect of combustion and energy. While they should not be unnecessarily long, the length of the articles allows authors to discuss their subjects more fully and comprehensively than can be undertaken in papers reporting original work. These review articles provide an opportunity for researchers to become usefully informed in fields other than their own. They are of use to students seeking a review of a particular subject, together with a comprehensive bibliography, as well as to engineers working in government and industrial research establishments, seeking practical solutions.Reviews are by invitation of the editors only. They are aimed at researchers and technically oriented managers working in the nuclear energy field.Please note the following: PNE seeks high quality innovative research papers which are medium to long in length. Short research papers should be submitted to the journal Annals of Nuclear Energy.PNE reserves the right to reject papers which are based solely on routine application of computer codes used to produce reactor designs or reproduce known reactor phenomena. Resource and Energy Economics publishes theoretical and empirical papers, firmly grounded in economic theory, that advance our understanding of and provide novel insights into environmental and natural resource problems and policies broadly defined, as well as analyses of energy use and markets that link resource and environmental issues to energy.Contributions may address any problem involving economic and environmental linkages, including, but not limited to, utilization, conservation and development of the earth's natural resources (renewable and non-renewable, including critical materials); climate change mitigation and adaptation; innovation and the energy transition; pathways to sustainable growth and development; international trade and global environmental problems; non-market valuation methodology and novel applications of valuation techniques; experimental or behavioural economics pertaining to environmental and natural resources; the choice and impact of environmental policy instruments; and economic choices and/or behaviour related to energy and the environment. Also of interest are energy-related papers addressing regional or global pollution as well as the relationships between renewable and non-renewable energy sources and markets.Resource and Energy Economics is an economics journal. Hence, economic analysis is central to all papers that we publish. We are most interested in research that advances the theoretical and/or empirical understanding of natural resource and environmental economics. We do not publish studies that are limited to engineering or cost analyses, empirical analyses that document relationships between variables without identifying the theory or underlying mechanism(s) giving rise to these relationships, or localized studies without broader relevance. Papers limited to the study of prices, markets or finance are not within the scope of the journal unless the topic is linked to natural resource and environmental issues (such as energy efficiency, consumption, externalities, renewables, environmental policy, resource extraction, climate, instrument choice, welfare change, etc.).
