Annals of Nuclear Energy
Annals of Nuclear Energy provides an international medium for the communication of original research, ideas and developments in all areas of the field of nuclear energy science and technology. Its scope embraces nuclear fuel reserves, fuel cycles and cost, materials, processing, system and component technology (fission only), design and optimization, direct conversion of nuclear energy sources, environmental control, reactor physics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics, structural analysis, fuel management, future developments, nuclear fuel and safety, nuclear aerosol, neutron physics, computer technology (both software and hardware), risk assessment, radioactive waste disposal and reactor thermal hydraulics. Papers submitted to Annals need to demonstrate a clear link to nuclear power generation/nuclear engineering. Papers which deal with pure nuclear physics, pure health physics, imaging, or attenuation and shielding properties of concretes and various geological materials are not within the scope of the journal. Also, papers that deal with policy or economics are not within the scope of the journal. Applied Energy
Applied Energy provides a forum for information on research, innovation, development, and demonstration in the areas of energy conversion and conservation, the optimal use of energy resources, analysis and optimization of energy processes, multi-energy systems, mitigation of environmental pollutants through sustainable, secure, efficient energy systems, and fair and efficient transition to a Net Zero future. The journal publishes original research papers, review articles, technology assessment, bibliographical studies, and perspective papers. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts which bridge the gaps between research, development, and implementation. The breadth of coverage ranges from innovative technologies and systems of both low-carbon and renewable energy to the economic industrial, commercial, and domestic use of energy with no or minor impact on the environment. Biomass & Bioenergy
Biomass & Bioenergy is an international journal publishing original research papers and short communications, review articles and case studies on biological resources, chemical and biological processes, and biomass products for new renewable sources of energy and materials. The scope of the journal extends to the environmental, management and economic aspects of biomass and bioenergy.Key areas covered by the journal: • Biomass: sources, energy crop production processes, genetic improvements, composition. Please note that research on these biomass subjects must be linked directly to bioenergy generation. • Biological Residues: residues/rests from agricultural production, forestry and plantations (palm, sugar etc), processing industries, and municipal sources (MSW). Papers on the use of biomass residues through innovative processes/technologi... novelty and/or consideration of feedstock/system sustainability (or unsustainability) are welcomed. However waste treatment processes and pollution control or mitigation which are only tangentially related to bioenergy are not in the scope of the journal, as they are more suited to publications in the environmental arena. An international journal devoted to research and new applications in generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electric powerElectric Power Systems Research is an international medium for the publication of original papers concerned with the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical energy. The journal aims at presenting important results of work in this field, whether in the form of applied research, development of new procedures or components, orginal application of existing knowledge or new design approaches. The scope of Electric Power Systems Research is broad, encompassing all aspects of electric power systems. Energy
Energy is an international, multi-disciplinary journal in energy engineering and research, and a flagship journal in the Energy area. The journal aims to be a leading peer-reviewed platform and an authoritative source of information for analyses, reviews and evaluations related to energy. The journal covers research in mechanical engineering and thermal sciences, with a strong focus on thermal energy and integrated energy systems, energy planning and energy management. The journal also welcomes papers on related topics such as energy conservation, energy efficiency, biomass and bioenergy, renewable energy, energy storage, energy in buildings, and on economic and policy issues, provided such topics are within the context of the broader multi-disciplinary scope of Energy. However, any pure transfer or process level energy research may not be suitable for the scope of this journal, such as combustion, fuels, heat transfer, fluid flow, wind turbine, hydro pump, and energy resources mining etc.- We give priority to thermal energy papers and not papers with a strong focus on combustion, fuels, heat transfer, fluid flow and the like. The papers on specific fossil fuel mining techniques and methods, fuels characterization and fuels chemical treatment are not within the scope of Energy. - We give priority to integrated energy systems, energy planning and energy management and not papers with a strong focus on single technologies such as wind turbines, PV materials, solar thermal coatings, biomass chemical reactions and their related heat and mass transfer process etc. Especially for wind energy, we refer to Wind Energy and Engineering Research - the sister journal of Energy. - We give priority to sustainable energy related to green transition, we request papers based on thermal engineering, particularly fossil or decarbonized fuel-related technologies, and discuss how these technologies fit into the green transformation. Papers on mining, new designs and retrofits of fuel-fired power plants are not in the scope of the Journal.- We give priority to integrated cross-sectoral smart energy systems and not to single-sector systems with a sole focus on the electricity sector. However, electrified heating and cooling systems and heat pumps are in the scope of Energy. For papers on pure electric energy, we give priority to Smart Energy - the sister journal of Energy. - We give priority to thermal management technology for electronic devices, electric batteries, photovoltaics, data centers, and even electric power plants, not a pure heat transfer for cooling. These topics are in the scope of specialized heat transfer and refrigeration journals, and not in the scope of Energy. - We give priority to energy storage systems, especially those that can be applied at energy system level, such as electric battery and thermal battery, not to materials level research or heat exchanger level research. The International Journal of the Political, Economic, Planning, Environmental and Social Aspects of EnergyEnergy Policy is an international peer-reviewed journal addressing the policy implications of energy supply and use from their economic, social, planning and environmental aspects. Papers may cover global, regional, national, or even local topics that are of wider policy significance, and of interest to international agencies, governments, public and private sector entities, local communities and non-governmental organisations. Within this broad spectrum, topics of particular interest include energy and environmental regulation, energy supply security, the quality and efficiency of energy services, the effectiveness of market-based approaches and/or governmental interventions, technological innovation and diffusion, and voluntary initiatives where the broader policy implications can be recognised. Energy for Sustainable Development
Energy for Sustainable Development is published on behalf of the International Energy Initiative, which maintains regional offices in Brazil and India. ESD aims to promote – initiate, strengthen and advance – the efficient and clean production and use of energy for sustainable development of developing nations (i.e. any country outside the high income category as per the World Bank definition). It publishes original, applied, interdisciplinary research, commentaries and reviews about energy as an instrument of sustainable development and focuses on energy systems, clean resources, efficient technologies, end uses, policies and governance arrangements. It is the journal for decision makers, managers, consultants, policy makers, planners and researchers in both government and non-government organizations. Accordingly, the Editorial Board does not consider highly specialized works in a specific discipline appropriate for this journal.The Editorial Board of ESD views energy, not as an end, but as an instrument of sustainable development. The Editorial Board particularly wishes to encourage papers that are (1) in line with the scope outlined above, (2) likely to be of interest to more than one professional group, and (3) contributing significantly to knowledge through analysis, synthesis and critical review and evaluation. The board also welcomes papers on North-South, South-South or multilateral cooperation in energy technology development, governance, training and applications.
