Trends in Genetics
Trends in Genetics was launched in 1985 and quickly became a must read journal for geneticists, known for its concise, accessible articles on a range of topics from developmental biology to evolution. This tradition continues today, and TiG remains a favorite in the community for its distinctive content. As the field has changed, though, so too has the scope of the journal, which now encompasses new areas, such as genomics, epigenetics, and computational genetics, while continuing to cover traditional subjects like transcriptional regulation, population genetics, and chromosome biology. Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology
Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology publishes the results of studies concerning toxic and pharmacological effects of (human and veterinary) drugs and of environmental contaminants in animals and man.Areas of special interest are: molecular mechanisms of toxicity, biotransformation and toxicokinetics (including toxicokinetic modelling), molecular, biochemical and physiological mechanisms explaining differences in sensitivity between species and individuals, the characterisation of pathophysiological models and mechanisms involved in the development of effects and the identification of biological markers that can be used to study exposure and effects in man and animals. Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology does not consider purely descriptive studies which lack mechanistic determination in the experimental design. Whilst Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology recognises that animal studies remain an intrinsic part of scientific research, the Journal is strongly in favour of submissions which feature human and in silico-based new approach methods (so-called NAMs). Of course, all submissions will be evaluated in line with current best scientific practice, but it is important to note, that Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology does not require animal-based validation of NAMs. Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology will not consider submissions which feature undefined extracts of either natural products or environmental samples, but submissions are welcomed on defined mixtures which explore their potential toxicological implications. In addition to full length papers, short communications, full-length reviews and mini-reviews, Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology will publish in depth assessments of special problem areas. The latter publications may exceed the length of a full length paper three to fourfold. A basic requirement is that the assessments are made under the auspices of international groups of leading experts in the fields concerned. The information examined may either consist of data that were already published, or of new data that were obtained within the framework of collaborative research programmes. The mission of Biophysical Journal (BJ) is to publish the highest quality work that elucidates important biological, chemical, or physical mechanisms and provides quantitative insight into fundamental problems at the molecular, cellular, and systems and whole-organism levels. Articles published in the journal should be of general interest to quantitative biologists, regardless of their research specialty.BJ publishes original articles, letters, and perspectives on important problems in modern biophysics. The papers should be written so as to be of interest to a broad community of biophysicists. BJ welcomes experimental studies that use quantitative physical approaches for the study of biological systems, including or spanning scales from molecule to whole organism. Experimental studies of a purely descriptive or phenomenological nature, with no theoretical or mechanistic underpinning, are not appropriate for publication in BJ. Theoretical studies should offer new insights into the understanding of experimental results or suggest new experimentally testable hypotheses. Articles reporting significant methodological or technological advances, which have potential to open new areas of biophysical investigation, are also suitable for publication in BJ. Papers describing improvements in accuracy or speed of existing methods or extra detail within methods described previously are not suitable for BJ. The Aims and Scope of Food Chemistry are assessed and modified on an annual basis to reflect developments in the field. The Journal of Comparative Pathology is an English (UK) language, international, peer-reviewed journal that exists to publish articles reporting research and original scientific findings relevant to the pathology and pathogenesis of diseases of domesticated and other vertebrate animals, including in-vivo and in-vitro (organoid) models of disease. Articles on diseases of humans in parallel with animal studies are also appropriate, but only if they present features of special interest when viewed against the general background of vertebrate animal pathology. In addition, the Journal may publish Short Papers that are reports of small, completed investigations, new techniques or case descriptions.
