Journal of the Federation of European Societies on Trace Elements and Minerals - FESTEMThe journal provides the reader with a thorough description of theoretical and applied aspects of trace elements in medicine and biology and is devoted to the advancement of scientific knowledge about trace elements and trace element species. Trace elements play essential roles in the maintenance of physiological processes. During the last decades there has been an important progress in scientific investigation about the function and binding of trace elements. The Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology focuses on the description and dissemination of scientific results concerning the biological role and action of trace elements including different fields such as analytical methods, biochemistry, patho-biochemistry of metabolic processes, molecular biology, nutrition, toxicology, environmental toxicology, epidemiology, clinical applications in diagnosis, therapy, food chain and veterinary medicine. Progress in the knowledge of the biological role of trace elements depends, however, on advances in trace elements chemistry. Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling
The Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling is devoted to the publication of papers on the uses of computers in theoretical investigations of molecular structure, function, interaction, and design. The scope of the journal includes all aspects of molecular modeling and computational chemistry, including, for instance, the study of molecular shape and properties, molecular simulations, protein and polymer engineering, drug design, materials design, structure-activity and structure-property relationships, database mining, and compound library design.As a primary research journal, JMGM seeks to bring new knowledge to the attention of our readers. As such, submissions to the journal need to not only report results, but must draw conclusions and explore implications of the work presented. Authors are strongly encouraged to bear this in mind when preparing manuscripts. Routine applications of standard modelling approaches, providing only very limited new scientific insight, will not meet our criteria for publication. Reproducibility of reported calculations is an important issue. Wherever possible, we urge authors to enhance their papers with Supplementary Data, for example, in QSAR studies machine-readable versions of molecular datasets or in the development of new force-field parameters versions of the topology and force field parameter files. Routine applications of existing methods that do not lead to genuinely new insight will not be considered.JMGM is published in association with two of the largest and most active professional societies in the field: the Molecular Graphics and Modelling Society (MGMS) and the Computers in Chemistry (COMP) Division of the American Chemical Society. Several thousand computational chemists worldwide belong to these two societies and any research topic that may of interest to the membership is within the wide scope of the journal. Biochemical Pharmacology publishes original research findings and review articles related to the elucidation of cellular and tissue function(s) at the biochemical and molecular levels, the modification of cellular phenotype(s) by genetic, transcriptional/tran... or drug/compound-induce... modifications, as well as the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of xenobiotics and drugs, the latter including both small molecules and biologics.The journal's target audience includes scientists engaged in the identification and study of the mechanisms of action of xenobiotics, biologics and drugs and in the drug discovery and development process.All areas of cellular biology and cellular, tissue/organ and whole animal pharmacology fall within the scope of the journal. Drug classes covered include anti-infectives, anti-inflammatory agents, chemotherapeutics, cardiovascular, endocrinological, immunological, metabolic, neurological and psychiatric drugs, as well as research on drug metabolism and kinetics. While medicinal chemistry is a topic of complementary interest, manuscripts in this area must contain sufficient biological data to characterize pharmacologically the compounds reported. Submissions describing work focused predominately on chemical synthesis and molecular modeling will not be considered for review.While particular emphasis is placed on reporting the results of molecular and biochemical studies, research involving the use of tissue and animal models of human pathophysiology and toxicology is of interest to the extent that it helps define drug mechanisms of action, safety and efficacy.Reports describing experiments conducted with natural product mixtures, plant or animal extracts will not be considered for publication unless the structures and concentrations of all component substances are known, and the agents can be easily obtained by others wishing to replicate the study.The chemical structure of all novel compounds tested must be included in the submitted manuscript or be readily accessible in the published literature. References to structures in the patent literature must unambiguously identify a single molecular structure.
