Manuscripts that describe optimizations related to phenomena of narrow interest using conventional statistical approaches and/or describe exclusively computer simulation with conventional enzyme reaction models or molecular dynamics, will be rejected without peer review.The brewing and food technology section welcomes research that provide fundamental advances on fermentation, fermented foods and their process developments. Basic studies solely treating the chemical and/or medicinal aspects of food derivatives prepared by conventional pretreatment techniques are not appropriate for JBB.The cell and tissue engineering section covers research on cell culture engineering as it relates to regenerative medicine. Topics include the technologies for stem cell culture such as mass production, differentiation control, and tissue reconstruction. Studies in the field of pure cell biology and embryology are not appropriate for JBB.The biomedical engineering section covers topics related to bioprocess engineering in the field of medicine, including biomaterials, scaffolds, artificial organs, drug delivery systems, microfluidics, and micro-fabrication, but not deals with the topics mainly focusing on mechanical engineering. Studies in the field of basic medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, dentistry, and surgical technique are not suitable for JBB. Neuropharmacology
Neuropharmacology publishes high quality, original research within the discipline of neuroscience. The emphasis of Neuropharmacology is on the study and understanding of the actions of known exogenous and endogenous chemical agents on neurobiological processes in the mammalian nervous system. Work with non-mammalian and invertebrate species may be considered in exceptional circumstances. The journal does not usually accept clinical research, although neuropharmacological studies in humans may be considered on the condition that they provide novel insight into either the actions of drugs and/or neurobiological mechanisms. The journal only considers submissions in which the chemical structures and compositions of experimental agents are readily available in the literature or disclosed by the authors in the submitted manuscript. Similarly, manuscripts describing the use of natural products will only be considered if the active ingredient is known and disclosed.The journal publishes Special Issues in which leading experts are invited to serve as Guest Editors to compile a collection of reviews, and occasionally original articles, around a particular topical theme in neuroscience research. Suggestions for Special Issues can be made directly to the Editor-in-Chief.Neur... also publishes topical narrative reviews on subjects within its remit. These reviews are commissioned by the Editorial Team or arise after correspondence with potential authors. Unsolicited reviews will be considered, but authors are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief of their intention to submit a review. Potential review authors should clearly indicate in the cover letter their expertise in the area, the timeliness of the topic, and how the review differs from, and adds to, recent published reviews on related topics. Authors are expected to have an established experimental track record in the topic of the review, and should provide full citations, including URLs/DOIs, of recent experimental papers in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the topic of the review in their cover letter. In the absence of an experimental track record, authors should provide a justification for why they believe they are the right persons to author this review article at this point in time. The absence of any such evidence of relevant experimental expertise or an explanation of author appropriateness will result in the return of the manuscript to the authors. On the basis of the case made by authors, potential overlap with planned Neuropharmacology content, and discussions with the Editorial Team, the Editor-in-Chief will provide authors with a prompt decision regarding the proposed review. Systematic reviews, meta- or bibliographic analyses will not be considered unless they are a necessary part of a Special Issue and conducted by experts in the field, and even then only under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.- ISSN: 0028-3908

As the official journal of the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), Immunology Letters supports international consortia of experts. The journal welcomes collaborative contributions dedicated to the state-of-the-art of immunology topics, as well as commentaries on those topics.Preference is given to papers of immediate importance to other investigators. Therefore, the essential criteria for publication are clarity, experimental soundness and novelty. Results contradictory to current accepted thinking or ideas divergent from actual dogmas are considered for publication provided they are based on solid experimental findings. Transfusion and Apheresis Science
Official Journal of the World Apheresis Association, Turkish Society of Apheresis, European Society for Haemapheresis and Società Italiana di Emaferesi e Manipolazione CellulareTransfusion and Apheresis Science brings comprehensive and up-to-date information to physicians and health care professionals involved in the rapidly changing fields of transfusion medicine, hemostasis and apheresis. The journal presents original articles relating to scientific and clinical studies in the areas of immunohematology, transfusion practice, bleeding and thrombotic disorders and both therapeutic and donor apheresis including hematopoietic stem cells. Topics covered include the collection and processing of blood, compatibility testing and guidelines for the use of blood products, as well as screening for and transmission of blood-borne diseases. All areas of apheresis - therapeutic and collection - are also addressed. We would like to specifically encourage allied health professionals in this area to submit manuscripts that relate to improved patient and donor care, technical aspects and educational issues.Transfusion and Apheresis Science features a "Theme" section which includes, in each issue, a group of papers designed to review a specific topic of current importance in transfusion and hemostasis for the discussion of topical issues specific to apheresis and focuses on the operators' viewpoint. Another section is "What's Happening" which provides informal reporting of activities in the field. In addition, brief case reports and Letters to the Editor, as well as reviews of meetings and events of general interest, and a listing of recent patents make the journal a complete source of information for practitioners of transfusion, hemostasis and apheresis science. Aquatic Toxicology does not consider articles that focus on monitoring the presence of chemicals in the environment unless these studies further investigate the impacts of the chemicals on aquatic organisms and/or ecological systems. Vision Research
An International Journal for Functional Aspects of VisionVision Research is a journal devoted to the functional aspects of human, vertebrate and invertebrate vision and publishes experimental and observational studies, reviews, and theoretical and computational analyses. Vision Research also publishes clinical studies relevant to normal visual function and basic research relevant to visual dysfunction or its clinical investigation. Functional aspects of vision is interpreted broadly, ranging from molecular and cellular function, to perception and behavior. Detailed descriptions are encouraged but enough introductory background should be included for non-specialists. Theoretical and computational papers should give a sense of order to the facts or point to new verifiable observations. Papers dealing with questions in the history of vision science should stress the development of ideas in the field.Vision Research publishes both reviews and minireviews. A minireview is not intended to be a comprehensive overview, but rather a survey of recent developments in a fast-growing and active area of vision research. Reviews and minireviews are generally invited, but proposals for either may also be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief.Visi... Research welcomes Letters to the Editor in response to articles published in the journal. A Letter considered for publication is sent out for review and at the same time forwarded to the author or authors of the published article. If the Letter is editorially accepted, the original authors are invited to write a prompt reply, which the reviewers of the Letter are also asked to review.Vision Research publishes thematic Special Issues covering well-defined and timely research topics. Special Issues are usually edited by Guest Editors with one or more members of the Editorial Board. Proposals for Special Issues should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief or a member of the Board.
