What Current Opinions in Physiology publishes - COPHYS distinctly publishes invited short, annotated reviews in a Special Issue format. These short reviews are of recent (2-5 years) developments in the topic, as well as pointing out select individual papers of particular significance Each Special Issue focuses on a specific area of physiological research that has a broad appeal and falls within the aims and scope of the journal. Special Issues provide an opportunity to review a particular theme, examine previously unaddressed aspects, propose, and develop new approaches, exchange perspectives and encourage new lines of research.Expertise & the Editorial Process - Editors and the Editorial Board bring the depth and breadth of their experience and expertise to our journal. Each special issue's topic is facilitated and approved by the Co-Editors in Chief. The Editors in Chief work in tandem with the Editorial Board to select the most appropriate Guest Editors who are known experts in any given special issue's topic. The Guest Editors are responsible for creating an author invite list, which is then reviewed and augmented via Editorial Board evaluation prior to the Guest Editor inviting the contributing authors. The Guest Editors can also opt for the open call on the webpage along with the author's list.Once the papers for any of our curated short review special issues are received by COPHYS, the editorial staff determines their suitability for review. Submissions are checked that they are according to journal guidelines before being sent for external peer review by the Guest Editor via the submission platform. Each submission must be reviewed by no fewer than two independent experts who assess the quality, originality, and novelty of the work.COPHYS Guest Editors are not permitted to handle the review of their own contributions to ensure a thorough and fair review of their manuscripts. Guest Editors are not privy to the referees' names or affiliations for any submission under consideration where a Guest Editor is a contributor. Guest Editors must declare a potential conflict of interest for any submission under consideration and inform the journal Editors in Chief who then determine the appropriate course of action. Neuromuscular Disorders is the official Journal of the World Muscle Society an international, multidisciplinary, scientific society, dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of neuromuscular disorders.The journal is a platform for clinical academics and scientists to publish their research results from studies on neuromuscular diseases including acquired and hereditary diseases that affect the muscle, the neuromuscular junction or the lower motor neuron.The research articles may include clinical aspects, such as new clinical entities, progress in diagnostics, treatment and management or research on cell or animal models of relevance to the clinical conditions.Review articles by renowned clinical academics or scientists on the topics mentioned above are welcome. Review articles by uncredited contributors will not be accepted.Reports from international workshops may be considered especially when they include consensus on guidelines regarding diagnostics, nomenclature, treatment outcome measures or other research strategies of general international interest.Case reports will only be considered if they provide an in-depth analysis of specific neuromuscular disorders that could serve as exemplary models for future research in the field. Reports on new mutations in already known genes or combinations of pathologies in the same individual will not be accepted unless they offer new insights of broader significance.Socio-economic studies and survey reports based on non-validated questionnaires will usually not be considered.
Redox in Muscle Physiology, Exercise, and Sport is a quality open access journal publishing original articles, mini-reviews, and reviews. The journal will also publish occasional invited thematic special issues. The scope of the journal is broad, aimed at revealing the mechanisms and interactions of the redox process in all areas of skeletal and cardiac muscle physiology, exercise science, and sports medicine. Emphasis is placed on well-conceived studies on adaptive and integrative physiological responses in animals and humans throughout life and includes translational research, clinical and biologically therapeutic aspects of human health and disease from childhood to old age. Redox in Muscle Physiology, Exercise, and Sport will also consider research articles focused in biochemical and bioenergetic muscle studies related to redox biology. Bioinformatic/multi-omics analyses and interventions related to the impacts of nutrition and exercise on muscle redox are particularly welcome. Studies of uncharacterized complex mixtures of natural products are not a suitable area of focus for the journal. Studies using commercial, undefined kits as the sole or primary assay for redox related changes which are not validated using other methods will not be considered for publication.
