Computational studies must generally be validated or complemented by experimental studies. Studies only consisting of computational work will not be considered unless they provide new theoretical insight that allows us to better understand or reinterpret surprising or unexpected experimental data.Comparative proteomics studies are generally not considered for review unless they provide specific insights into the structural and/or functional properties of individual proteins. Proteomics studies must also address properties of individual proteins and should as far as possible be validated by direct investigations of relevant identified proteins.Concise and comprehensive reviews of recent developments are considered for publication. Biological Psychology publishes original scientific papers on neural, endocrine, immune, and other physiological aspects of psychological states and processes. Such aspects include assessments by biochemistry, electrophysiology, and neuroimaging during psychological experiments as well as biologically induced changes in psychological function. Psychological investigations based on biological theories are also of interest. All aspects of psychological functioning, including psychopathology, are germane.The Journal is focused on work with human individuals, but may consider work with animals, if conceptually related to issues in human biological psychology. The Journal welcomes work that spans disciplines and methods and recruits an editorial team that is especially suited for handling such manuscripts. Biomaterials is an international journal covering the science and clinical application of biomaterials. A biomaterial is now defined as a substance that has been engineered to take a form which, alone or as part of a complex system, is used to direct, by control of interactions with components of living systems, the course of any therapeutic or diagnostic procedure. It is the aim of the journal to provide a peer-reviewed forum for the publication of original papers and authoritative review and opinion papers dealing with the most important issues facing the use of biomaterials in clinical practice. Blood, the flagship journal of the American Society of Hematology, published online and in print, provides an international forum for the publication of original articles describing basic laboratory, translational, and clinical investigations in hematology. Acceptance of manuscripts is based on the originality and importance of the observations or investigations, the quality of the work and validity of the evidence, the clarity of presentation, and the relevance to our readership and field. All articles are expected to be concise, well-organized and clearly written. Preference is given to papers focusing on human immunobiology, immunotherapy, and immune pharmacology approaches in the human setting and those with significant implications for understanding of normal or malignant hematologic processes. Papers on tumor immunology, tumor vaccines and cancer immunotherapy development may be appropriate if the target cells or antigens are relevant to hematologic malignancies, but generally Blood cannot accommodate tumor immunology papers focusing solely on non-hematologic tumor types.Papers investigating autoimmunity and utilizing non-hematologic models are not within the scope of Blood.Vascular biology papers that focus primarily on atherosclerosis are outside the scope of Blood and instead should be considered for alternative journals.Papers felt to be outside the scope of Blood will be returned to the author without full peer review.

Body Image is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality, scientific articles on body image and human physical appearance. Body image represents a person's "inside view" of their body-that is, their feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and beliefs about their body that impact how they behave toward it (Cash, 2004). While physical appearance is an important aspect of body image, it is not the only aspect, as embodiment (how a person uses their body to engage with the world) and focusing on (and appreciating) body functionality are additional aspects of body image. We invite contributions from a broad range of disciplines - psychological science, other social and behavioral sciences, and medical and health sciences. We have a weight-inclusive focus rather than a weight-normative or weight-centric focus (see https://www.hindawi.... for an explanation).Body Image publishes a variety of article types, including original research articles, brief research reports, theoretical and review papers (systematic reviews and meta-analyses), scale development and adaptation articles, replication studies, protocol articles, methodological innovations that could be used to advance body image research, unexpected/null results articles, and ideas worth researching. We encourage articles that center minoritized populations. As another example, "research shows that body dissatisfaction is correlated with disordered eating, anxiety, and depression" may include multiple citations, with different citations supporting different aspects of this statement.Systematic reviews and meta-analyses whereby the citations are linked to relevant themes/data that are included in the analysis.The presence of string citations alone is not a reason to reject an article.
