  • Neuropsychologia

    • ISSN: 0028-3932
Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that directly link brain function with cognitive processes, including perception, attention and consciousness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition. Submission of papers using methodologies such as functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and brain stimulation to significantly advance cognitive and psychological theory is strongly encouraged.Neuropsyc... has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding the brain basis of human cognition and behavior. Studies that employ a purely behavioral approach in neurologically healthy participants are not appropriate for the journal unless the findings have a direct and significant bearing on the understanding of the neural mechanisms or systems supporting cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Special issues and Review Papers are published regularly with the aim of providing authoritative surveys of topics of major interest.
  • Personalized Medicine in Psychiatry

    • ISSN: 2468-1717
Personalized Medicine in Psychiatry provides a home for basic and clinical investigators, neuroscientists, psychiatrists, psychologists, residents, and medical and graduate students to publish high quality research papers, reviews, new ideas and perspectives, debates, case reports, applied technologies that contribute towards advancing our basic, clinical and therapeutic knowledge of personalized medicine in psychiatry.Personali... medicine in psychiatry seeks to identify factors that contribute to vulnerability to psychiatric disorders and accuracy of diagnosis as well as the major goal of increasing efficacy of therapeutic interventions and decreasing adverse effects by considering the individual characteristics of each patient (e.g. genetics and epigenetics, physiological, endocrinological, psychological, brain imaging and medical comorbidity). Personalized medicine in psychiatry encompasses both which individual should receive what specific type of treatment based on personalized measures, and also identifies those at risk, thereby reducing long-term costs of mental health as well as morbidity. The journal fills a broad void encompassing studies of endophenotypes and biological markers, pharmacological and psychotherapeutic approaches, educational and rehabilitation concerns, and environmental and behavioral, psychological and social research, all with the aim of moving toward the search for individualized treatments tailored for each patient. Most importantly, its goal is to identify predictors of response in individual patients.Topics include, but are not limited to:Personalized MedicinePsychiatric DisordersPsychopharm... and functional brain imagingPreventionPsy... disorders including depression and bipolar disorderAlzheimer's diseaseAnxiety disordersPsychotic disordersEndophennot... mortem brain studiesPersonality disordersTMSDBSECT
